My thoughts on TOTK so far

I've been playing for about 2 and a half weeks almost every night after work. I'm about to go into my second dungeon, with some unfinished side quests I'll get back to. I intend to finish this game like BOTW. I jumped into this one right after I beat the previous. Which probably is a big factor to my opinion. Without spoiling anything for myself or others I won't ramble with what I know so far. But I will say this.

There's a video on YouTube I've seen come up that I intend to watch after I fully beat TOTK. but the title said "TOTK is a disappointing masterpiece" and from that title alone.....i may be starting to agree.

My GF knows nothing about Zelda, but thinks the Koroks are cute.

Every time I find one, right on que she mimics the "Wah Ha Haa!!" And giggles at hetsu when he does his macharina dance. makes me smile every time. There's no point to this post other than sharing that.

Morning shift cook gets overly mad about a harmless joke (long post/rant)

So at our pub we have two morning shift cooks who are a couple. The type that if one leaves so does the other. And they're incredibly rude and bullies to other co workers and night shift people, and get away with it. (Terrible management i know but that's another post for another day)

Two days ago. Said cook, left a couple of boxes of stuff I don't even remember what it was. But the note said "please leave out for morning" and as what i felt was a light hearted joke I took a sharpie and wrote under it "I do what I want". Bare in mind still left out just as he asked. I go in the next day and my manager pulls me aside while I'm washing dishes and asked if it was me that did it, I was honest and said yes. He told me apparently that he not only didn't appreciate it or find it funny at all he got in a huge hissy fit over it and took it out on everyone throwing off the tone for the morning. I didn't get in trouble or yelled at but I was advised to apologize to him even though I never even see the guy. We talked again later in the night and I expressed how it's beyond unfair that they get to do things like leave grease buckets for us but yell at us through group chat and in person if we leave one. Or leave condisending notes for everyone on the white board calling people incompetent. But I make one harmless joke in the most innocent and light hearted manner possible and we get hell for it. Luckily he agrees and is on my side about it. But with this on top of working exhaustingly busy weekends by myself in the pit, and personal life stress. I'm really starting to consider looking for another restaurant and putting in my two weeks. I've been here for three years and don't feel like this treatment will change any time soon.

3 days into TOTK almost immediately after beating BOTW.

Hated the tutorial. But after I got back into hyrule I started to get the hang of things. I named my horses after mine and my girlfriends cats. Rocky recently passed so I was happy to have them back on this file. Especially my big boy 🥹 R.I.P.

It was a rough start but this game is growing on me.....i want my master cycle back though. I worked hard for that damn it.

Beat BOTW today. Started TOTK and immediately feel overwhelmed.

Maybe I started it too quickly. But I started the tutorial. Looked around and had a "I don't like change" moment. So many questions I don't want spoilers to right away. Might give myself more time before I fully go into this game. Still taking in everything I accomplished in BOTW anyways. Anyone else experience this?

It's time...

Did everything I wanted to do before i go fight Ganon.

It's not about the destination. It's the journey. What a ride this game was.

Update: Ganon went down like nothing. Except I wish they didn't make me use the horse during the cutscene. I ended up switching to the cycle anyways

BOTW did me dirty (long story post)

This was a personally hilarious and rage enducing moment while playing tonight that i have to share. Bare with me while i explain the context.

So my girlfriend and I for the past month and a half now have been dealing with a mobile mechanic that's been dragging his feet with getting our car fixed. And it's been a very frustrating experience with new problems every visit and we're just eager to get it done and be mobile again. Botw is what I've been playing when I'm not working or dealing with that lately.

I've been playing since around this time last year. So by now I've been grinding out the champions ballad before I finally go fight Gannon right? I'm staying away from spoilers as much as possible in guides when i need them as I make my way through all of the trials and shrines and boss fights. Took me a week and a half but I finally beat all 4 markers. I'm stoked and ready for the motor cycle. But to my "surprise"...One final test. I should have known. I go back to the shrine of resurrection and my reaction to the final guardian dungeon IS A FUCKING ENGINE!! I had to angry laugh to myself freaking out ranting "of course it's a fucking broken engine. Why am i even fucking surprised! Now I got two broke down vehicles to deal with!! Thanks Nintendo!!" Literally the Gods being like "Hey ïf you do all this stuff we'll give you a cool ride... you gotta fix it though" I had to save and call it a night i was too flabbergasted how hard it hit home. 🤣🤣

UPDATE : ...... worth it

What shift are you? And what's your view on the oposite?

For me I do night shift. So I work from 5 to close almost every night. I've always been a night owl, and I like sleeping in during the day. I could NOT do day shift at my work. The vibes are just different. And I don't like the majority of the people on morning. One in particular I went to high school with and we never got along. And they bully night shift leaving extra grease buckets for example and making arguments why they can and we can't and why we'll get yelled at if we do. Not to mention the occasional shitty message on the white board in the morning. Makes me greatful I'm not in the work group chat.

Tonight we got slammed by three huge parties, a prom after party and the usual bar rats. All by myself too (partner called in, go figure). But ever since my post last night and the amazing responses I received. It helped me feel not alone and remembered my self worth.. So to all of you that gave your kind words. Thank you. You helped me get through what would otherwise be an awful night. And if it's okay, I'd like to share with you what I do when I'm not on the clock. And a bit of a plug.

I'm the vocalist for a band called Hollow Construct. We're a discord band and we work our asses and our hearts off on these songs. If you have time. Give it a listen. We're on all streaming platforms. Maybe when you yourself are in the pit, so you can start a pit....in the pit... Okay I'm done lmao.

Again. Thank you all for your time and support 💚

This is a screen shot of a post i made in another sub reddit about co workers that I ended up deleting right after because I felt like "what's the point in venting about this shit ever." I feel like no one other than my girlfriend actually understands my job and think I'm just over complaining. I used to be a touring musician for more than half my life, and that changed after covid and started working full time. Seeing the first comment especially cut deep. Thank you for your time. I return to the dish pit tomorrow night.

Mine is by Master Roshi that I still apply to my own life.

"Work hard, study well and eat and sleep plenty. That is the turtle hermit way" that phrase got me through so many times in my life where I just wanted to give up. I even sampled it in one of my bands songs.
