I just got a chance to do the “Pierce close the door… other side” bit to a coworker and I regret nothing!

So I walked into my coworkers office just to drop off a requisition. He’s on the phone speaking a language I do not know. He waves for me to close the door. This was before I started making my way out of his office so I thought it was the perfect time. I closed it in front of me and just turned to stand there.
His tone on the call didn’t sound very pleasant and his eyebrows were very furrowed. Ass signs point to this being an unpleasant personal call. He waved so much more emphatically for me to get out. I did the hop, hands upwards and pointing, and walked out.

I feel like I finally got to hit a reference to one of my favourite physical comedy bits in the show. He may not have gotten a chuckle out of it (yet) but I stand by it because it was flawlessly executed.

I’m here in my office typing this out and I can hear him on the phone through the paper thin walls.

Totally worth it

Completed a nuzlocke for the first time ever (Crystal Legacy)

One thing I never did was play to the level cap, I always just got sort of close and went into the battles because I didn’t want to waste the xp I would be earning (hard mode turns off exp gain when you’re at the current level cap) and while I did lose my rhydon against a poorly predicted crit vs Lance Rd. 1, and my dragonite fell to my rival in mt moon, I’m happy to say that this team got me all the way to the top of mt silver and beat Red. Lost arcanine, however.

Lots of losses through this playthrough, but nonetheless it was a good run.
Been doing super casual nuzlocke attempts over the last 15 years. Never managed to win one. So this feels kinda nice.

Which character do you think veered the farthest from their “pilot persona”?

So many shows change from their first episode / season. It’s not always a result of bad writing/pitching. Things just grow over time.

At Greendale; We met some really endearing characters, and some characters who almost completely changed entirely.

Who do you think has the biggest change (either through growth, writing changes, developmental shifts, etc) from their first episode to their last?

I specifically saidcharacter. Because I don’t want anyone saying “Padget Brewster is like a totally different person!”

Costco computer selection for dummies

I’m looking at buying a computer or a laptop. And I’m one of those “tech-averse” people who really knows nothing about the specs of a computer and what makes them good / better over another. Have you bought a computer or laptop from Costco? How did it work out for you?

First computer choice?

TLDR; computer illiterate adult would like help on what kind of computer to buy for home office.

Hello, hopefully this isn’t a discouraged question - I didn’t see anything in the community rules against this.

So I’m in my late 30’s and looking to acquire my first computer. My experience with desktops/laptops have either been using whatever computer my current employer has for me to use, or using a laptop for social media/videos/games.

I’m not really getting it for a specific purpose. More so just the idea of having a computer in my home office that I can use for generic “home computer” functions. Sorry if that sounds vague, I’m somehow very far out my my wheelhouse.

I’m not looking to spend a lot of money if I don’t have to, but I’m getting my tax return (hella late - long story) and have some spare dollars that I thought I’d treat myself with.

Is there a general consensus on what a “good” first computer is? It could be a laptop or a whole desktop set up. I’m not picky, but I’m also very ignorant to everything and what anything means with a computer. Could someone dumb it all down for me and point me in the right direction?

The Null Realm

Please correct me if I’m wrong. But I feel like it was stated that the Null realm has the unique characteristic to allow every single combatant of the tournament to fight as if they are fighting where they feel most at home (air density, gravity, etc.).

Now, if that’s true, it’s an amazing concept to really balance the scales to see who is the mightiest fighter. But it begs a few questions

  1. Who would have the advantage on Earth between Goku and Jiren (or anyone for that matter). Whose planet has higher gravity to start with.

  2. Would Vegeta’s experience vary from Goku’s? Since he spent the first of his formative years not on earth - had he become accustomed to that being his “home gravity setting” (to lack of a better term)

  3. Would this suggest that someone with a higher gravity baseline is inherently a more powerful/stronger fighter by default, and the Null Realm actually robs them of some kind of advantage?

Just something that got in my head last week and I couldn’t shake it, so I thought I’d get it out here and see what you think.

Canadian with parent who passed away in a U.S. hospital, no bill yet?

My father passed away while down in Florida for the winter. Now, for reasons beyond my comprehension, he did not have medical insurance. He was admitted to a faith-based hospital and unfortunately didn’t come out. My mum kept asking them to “get him good enough to fly, because I can’t afford this”. and it just didn’t happen. He was in there for 10 days before they called it.

She’s kind of sweating, because she is back in Canada now, and it’s been 3 months (he passed in February) and there has been zero communication from the hospital.
She has received the bill for the ambulance ride, and the first night in the ER, both were mailed to her address in Canada. So they have her info.

I guess my question is, why wouldn’t they have sent us a bill yet? Don’t get me wrong, it’s not like we are excited to pay, but it’s the unknown that’s starting to weigh on us.
