I want a partner to play monopoly with

I am so sick of technology and I just want to shut it all off and play monopoly with a partner and have a quiet evening together. Yes I can play with friends, no it's not the same.

Dating sucks, technology sucks. Monopoly is great.

What is the longest time after applying you got a call for an interview?

I tried to apply for state jobs 5 years ago and gave up because I was not getting any interest after a month of applying and I was used to a quick turnaround. I am now trying again and told myself I would consistently apply for a year to really try this time.

Just curious to hear stories about folks who got calls long after applying, maybe even after they gave up trying, and how that went. Thanks, happy Saturday!

Question about book Almanzo

In LTOTP, he has a huge stash of wheat seed in his wall, he trains horses to flip them and make money, he has every kind of buggy and sleigh, he eats mountains of pancakes, and he helps the community. He gives Laura so much time in commuting, and a fancy comb set and engagement ring. Then, in the First Four Years, much bad luck with farming, but also didn't mention the house debt to Laura until after they were married. Was Almanzo in debt like Charles, and just managed it better? Why could he not have made a living being a horse flipper? Just some thoughts as I re-read.

*I love these books and this is not meant as criticism, just discussion.

If Starbucks had an unlimited drink pass, how much would you be willing to pay for it? (Say for a months worth)

I once had an olive garden pasta pass, so i thought about starbucks doing this.

*this is hypothetical, for fun, i have no insider knowledge)

I've been applying for the state since January. I decided to message one of the hire contacts for a position I was pretty keen on to ask for an update. He was actually pretty thorough and told me that position (which closed in February) had 300+ applicants and that they were going to start interviewing later this month...so 3 months after the job closing date.

This isn't a complaint but rather some info for folks who aren't having great luck. He was telling me there are many departments that are this backed up or worse.

For the right person, I would be such an amazing wife and partner. I don't want kids and would love to build a DINK lifestyle with someone but most of the guys who are enthusiastic about me working are dudes who want to get out of working and have me be the breadwinner.

I can cook well and have maintained my own space for 10 years. I am thin and maintain my health. Idc if you want to game for hours because I will dive into a book or movie and we can meet up for dinner.

I'm not a spender I am the opposite of extravagant. I am frugal and work hard to hopefully retire well. I like to live a drama free, mellow, peaceful life. If you broke down on the side of the road I'd bring a spare and change it out for you.

I am average looking, not instagram average where there's filters and "natural" makeup, but average. I just want a partner who holds up their end of the bargain. Works a job that maintains their own expenses, has a car, is drug free, and has common sense.

I think I will die alone.

So I got a call for an interview last Thursday, they left a voicemail. I did not see until 7 at night which I figured was past the state operating hours, so I called back the following morning (last Friday) around 9 am. I left a voicemail, saying I was following up and eager to interview.

It is Tuesday and I have not heard anything back. I am hesitant to call again as I do not want to pester anyone and they have my information. What are my odds they will call again?
