Looking for second board recommendations

I’m a 38 year old female. Been boarding since I was in middle school. Recently started going a lot more in the past few years. I’m an intermediate maybe almost advancedish rider. At my age I just stick to groomers. I live on the east coast where it can be icy and pow days are few and far between and I can’t always chase them. Right now I have a Roxy smoothie that’s an all mountain directional medium flex board. I really like it. I kind of want one more board. Possibly a full camber? Any recommendations?

What should I binge once kids are in school?

My kids start school in a few weeks after I’ve been with them 24/7 all summer. I plan to be fairly useless their first week back to school and want a new show to binge to help me do so. I’ve liked downton abbey, bridgerton, the new wethering heights, poldark, Victoria, the gilded age and more I can’t quite remember. I saw a post with dresses in period dramas and saw some shows and movies that may be considered classics that I wasn’t sure I had seen and don’t remember them now. Any recommendations would be great!

How would you feel?

My MIL has watched my nieces for 6 years now. Youngest one will be in kindergarten next year and she’s watched them after school as well. This coming year will be the first she won’t have to watch them regularly. They also sleep over on a regular basis. They get tons of time with my in laws because of this obviously. Any time my MIL takes my girls 98% of the time my nieces get invited over too. This becomes a problem because my youngest comes home super overstimulated and hangry because they play all day and never just get some down time with their grandparents so it’s never a break for us because we have to deal with the aftermath. They’ve tried one sleepover with my kids and it wasn’t successful for a few reasons and nieces were invited over that evening and in the morning. My kids have never been invited over evening or morning for the many many sleepovers my nieces have. I can count maybe two times my kids have been invited over when she is watching nieces tho. My oldest told me she told her cousin the ask for them to come over when they are there and my niece says she’s not allowed to. It obviously is true because what was stated above and I don’t know if this is a rule by SIL or MIL. How would others feel in this situation? Does some sort of conversation need to be had?

Also these are the only grandparents my kids can have much of a relationship with. All I have is my mom and she struggles with some major mental health issues.

How have bedroom activities changed?

How have your “bedroom” activities changed since having kids? The spontaneity is gone completely and I’d just like a verbal statement that that is what’s wanted for the evening. Is that terrible? Also I’m really not turned on until the act is occurring. We get one hour of kid free time in the evening before we are completely exhausted and pass out.

What am I looking for?

I don’t like working out. I like staying active. I like hiking, snowboarding, playing with my kids, walks with my dog. I’m a 38 year old female. I’m not overweight but I’d like to maybe shed like five pounds and get in better shape/tone up. I want to enjoy it though. I’m currently trying to work up to running a mile nonstop on my treadmill and I’ve realized I like combination body weight exercise moves that I’ll randomly stumble across on reels. I have to be careful with any exercises involving leg lift type things because it puts too much of a strain on my lower back which I’ve had problems with in the past. What kind of exercise would I enjoy?

4th of July vent

I want to so badly be excited for holidays with my youngest daughter but deep down inside I know she will most likely wake incredibly early because of the excitement and be a huge mess at some point. And that’s just what happened. She knows we are going to see fireworks tonight and has been awake since 4am. And we’re supposed to go to my in laws tomorrow for a cookout. I’m freaking out. How do I shake it off and try to have a positive attitude even though I’m secretly worried about the aftermath of all of this?

Family vacation fund with in laws

The in laws came up with an idea of a vacation fund for a family cabin rental instead of gifts. We are supposed to contribute to the fund during holidays instead of gifts. When we paid off our house early, MILs response was they need to pay off SILs house for some weird reason. So that’s what they did. It was such a jab since we worked so hard to manage our money well and pay our house off early (they weren’t struggling and probably have a higher income than us just not super smart with their money). Now I have zero interest in contributing to this vacation fund or even going with them. How would others feel?

SIL will be daughter’s teacher next year

I’m not sure how to feel about my SIL being my daughters teacher next year. I’ve never had a good relationship with her and quite frankly she’s just always been mean. My daughter wants to stay because she’s excited for the friends she has in the class. Looking for some advice and opinions.

Should we invest in a rental?

We found a house we could buy for potentially $20-$30k and may need $30-$40k to fix up. It’s in an okayish neighborhood. We could probably rent it for $1200 and month or sell for possibly $130,000ish. Would you do it?

Does your kid sleep in if kept up late?

My ten year old is finally starting to sleep later if she stays up later. My 6 year old? She wakes at 6am no matter what every morning. It’s summer and big sis has softball games that end past bedtime or we’d love to stay up a bit late and have a fire, fish, or just not rush home for bedtime but she doesn’t sleep in and will be a crabby mess the whole next day (she usually needs 11 hours of sleep). I just dream of her being more flexible so we can live a little.

6 year old glimpsed porn

I have an elderly disabled neighbor who’s a quadriplegic (he has limited function of arms). We check in on him occasionally. My six year old barged in today ahead of me and went straight to his computer room where he was viewing porn. It was some images and not a video. My six year old definitely saw the screen but then beelined it out of the room to play with the fan blowing on the living room because I think she sensed it was bad and I kind of pretended it didn’t happen. What do I do? Do I talk to her about it and ask what she saw and maybe explain it was pictures for doctors?

When do the mind games stop?

For those of you that have a child or children that play mind games at bed time, when does it stop? My first was nothing like this but my second makes bed time difficult in some way every night. It’s exhausting. She’s 6 and it feels like there’s no end in sight. My husband and I swap putting her to bed each night. Sometimes I have to leave while he’s putting her to bed so she will be good. Once I’m gone she’s a different person. It’s so frustrating and I find myself in a state of dread when I do have to put her to bed.

Maine campgrounds with secluded sites

We’ve always considered getting a camper but a lot of campgrounds turn me off from the idea because it seems like the sites are right on top of one another. Does anyone have suggestions for campgrounds with secluded sites for campers?

My disabled neighbor had his house painted and is not happy with the results. I suggested green but the young boys that painted his home chose a ninja turtle green with dark grey trim and it’s just not good. I feel partially to blame but I wish he would have had me recommend a specific green if that’s the route he was choosing. I always help with his yard work and told him I’m happy to do any more painting he might want. We might paint a section of the house a different color and go from there. I’m thinking a light grey with some tan undertones possibly to go with the dark grey trim. Most likely will shop at sherwin Williams. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

If you do, why do you feel like that? What do they do to make you feel that way?

My MIL and SIL have never made me feel like family. I feel like an outsider and they just have mean girl energy with all women married into the family (MIL shits on her SILs). They have never invited me to do anything with them and SILs kids or when they go do something without kids. I’ve been married to my husband for 11 years. I had to cancel my daughter’s birthday party recently because my mom is dealing with mental health issues and went off the deep end and I was a mess and just trying to find help and resources so we settled on meeting for breakfast with his family instead. His mom was super awkward and barely spoke to me while sitting across from me and SIL was yammering on about how she went out to eat with her parents multiple times that week. I was feeling so emotional and had to get up and go to the vehicle because I was sobbing and hyperventilating. MIL also told FIL he should try to include BIL when he dos things with my husband yet SIL and MIL have never included me. They make me feel so insignificant or maybe I’m overreacting?
