First Rental

New host here! Got my car listed today and have a rental for tomorrow for a week. Any tips moving forward or advice? Gas tank is full, pre-trip photos are taken in abundance. It is my personal car, i WFH so it sits all week and decided to try Turo for wedding savings. Feeling nervous yet excited for the extra cash lol

Benzo taper

I’m finally tapering off of Ativan but i’m sick of taking it and want to just stop. I was taking 3-4mg about 4-5 days/week. My doc wants me to do 2mg daily for 2 weeks than 1.5 for a month, 1mg for a month then .5mg for a month. This feels like an overkill because i’m sick of taking this med and want it to be done. For those who have done it, was the taper helpful? Do you feel it made you more dependent? I’m just so sick of relying on the ativan.

Unique side gigs

What are your unique side gigs you work? I’m recently engaged, getting married in 2028 and it’s time to start saving! Looking for side gigs (evenings or weekends), bonus if remote. I’m testing soon for LISW/LCSW and anticipate to have that in the next couple months.

Benzo’s & dependency

I’ve been taking Ativan for the last 6 or so months. I have agoraphobia and started to feel trapped at my job and have been using ativan to get through work days. It started at .5mg once a week and has progressed to 2-3mg 4-5 times per week. This is all under the watch of my psychiatrist and therapist. I have finally been able to get a new job & i’m done at my current job in 2 weeks. I’m terrified to come off the ativan, not because I want to remain on it but because of the withdrawal possibility. My biggest fear has been becoming addicted to it, and while i don’t think i am (I go multiple days in a row without taking any) I certainly think I’ve developed a tolerance and dependency. Any advice on the tapering of the ativan? I’m going to taper off once I’m done at my job. I also plan to being exposure therapy again once I get the bandwidth from not being trapped at this job. I just feel like such a failure for needing the ativan to get through and the regression of the agoraphobia.

TLDR; coming off ativan after 6 months, seeking advice for withdrawal and taper. Regression of agoraphobia and using ativan causing to feel like a failure.

Promo codes

On my booking, it shows 2 latitude rewards promo codes. One is LATREW* and the other is LATITUDE. Do either of these give extra points per night? We just got off a sailing with a triple latitude so trying to see if this next one will be too. Thanks!

How to rid a reflection

I took a video that has my phone case reflection in part of it. I saw a video once of someone removing it, but i have no clue how. Anyone able to show or do? Happy to pay. It’s a 5-6 second clip.

Alaska - Whale Quest & Orca lodge

Has anyone done this tour and have a review on it? We booked last minute on board. It is through Allen Marine Tours. Any good or bad experiences? Are they more small group or is it a jammed boat with everyone trying to see in one spot? TIA!

Allen Marine Tours

Hi all! We last minute booked a whale quest + orca point lodge dinner which is done through Allen Marine Tours. Any experience, good or bad, with them? Are their tours typically small group or is this a jammed boat and everyone trying to fight for space to see? TIA!

Union Station Question - entrances?

I’m going to Union Station tomorrow to board an Amtrak. I’m trying to avoid the Great Hall as much as possible (long story, don’t do well with large open spaces). I’ve seen online there is the entrance off Jackson Blvd where the taxi stand is- is that a viable entrance for us to be dropped off & head in with our luggage and go to the metropolitan lounge? I saw a pic with signs about passengers with luggage use Canal St so i didn’t want to get turned away or something. Open to other (nice lol) tips to avoiding Great Hall to metro lounge if any. Thanks!

Chicago Union Station

Arriving at Chicago Union Station tomorrow to board. What’s the best entrance to go into to get to the metropolitan lounge the quickest? Preferably if able to bypass the Great Hall.

Last minute bedroom?

Has anyone had any luck getting a bedroom last minute either cause of cancellation or some other reason? We leave in 2 days on eastbound Empire Builder. We have a roomette booked but have been looking at bedrooms which are sold out. Curious if anyone has gotten lucky with a last minute find for a bedroom.

Excursion question

I have an excursion booked for a whale watching in Alaska. Would I be allowed to get my own transportation to the excursion spot? Or do we have to take the provided transportation with the excursion? I plan to call the shore excursion desk but they’re closed until Tuesday with weekend and holiday.

Too pushy or OK follow up?

I’m 3 weeks out from 3rd interview, 2 weeks out from references request and about 1 week from last communication from follow up email.

I go out of town end of May to early June. Is it too much to send another follow up end of next week to follow up & let the recruiter know I’ll be out of town/possibly unreachable (going on a cruise)? Their last email said he’d keep me updated once he has more info, so I don’t want to seems pushy but also want to inquire.

References- timeline?

Is it normal for contacting references to take a while? After my 3rd interview, the recruiter asked for references and it’ll be 2 weeks since asking and none of my references have been contacted yet.
