I was at meps and me and this kid were talking and he was asking me literally the most basic questions, and I was absolutely blown away some people join and don’t even know the simplest answers to questions they have.

this kid literally said, “how do I not sign a contract like what do I even do if my jobs not here“ “my recruiter said I have to sign one when meps processes me or they won’t let me come back“

not gonna lie, I was shocked. he also asked me if his specific job will be available like I’m the one who sent him to meps and can see his line scores and gave him a physical exam.

Anyways this is just some advice , before getting into the DEP I talked to 3 diff recruiters in 3 different branches and every single one of them lied to me about one thing or another, my 4th recruiter, I asked him absolutely nothing that has to do with anything that changes the trajectory of my enlistment. except for days I need to be there and sign things, and when I go to meps, and just basic questions. nothing that has to do with my life when I’m in the navy. I’d suggest more people do the same and you might save yourself from signing for PACT, and from signing a contract that will make you regret joining the navy.

I’m not looking down on recruiters, they definitely do not have an easy job and have to deal with no call no shows all day and get 100s of phone calls and get their time wasted everyday and have to deal with a wide variety of people. But please DO SO MUCH RESEARCH THAT IT MAKES YOUR HEAD HURT. Understand you cannot trust everything your told during your enlistment process.

Very shocked that the exact job I wanted was available , as was my recruiter, and the classifier that he was actually able to get it available for me at this time of year, but I’m extremely happy. I signed for EO, anything I should expect or advice would be great.

edit: I made the previous post in this sub so I guess technically Seabee rates are available. or I just got extremely lucky

and how many of you were locked on one job?

asking this because I go to meps on Tuesday, and one of the first things my recruiter said to me is I should be open to at least 7-8 jobs. I am infact not open to 7-8 different rates. I’m already aware I’m going to have the final boss of enlistment Quotas trying to force me into a contract telling me I can change jobs after I’m in and my recruiter will probably be guilt tripping me if I don’t sign ,but if no rates I want are available, why would I ever sign? is what I’ve been telling myself. so just wondering what the not signing and waiting for a job has been like in your experience. thanks

I go to meps on Tuesday and there isn’t many other rates I would sign for. I qualify for every seabee rate except for CE because I did poorly in EI portion of asvab everything else I am qualified for. looking to either do BU or EO. what is it looking like right now?

to further my question I mean when you go to meps, your job isn’t available and the man or women showing you the job says, “here sign for this instead and this way your already in the system so you will be the first to get the job you want when it opens”

how much of a scam is this?

basically when I got onto the plane I sat down, he walked on the plane almost last, literally locked eyes with him because he was 2 seats in front of me and in my head I was like holy shit that guy looks like Theo Von, immediately forgot about it, and then when the plane landed I saw him stand up and heard his voice and was like holy shit that is Theo Von, I didn’t want to sound like a fan boy or yell his name because he was 2 rows in front of me and people were in the way and I was tired ,I tried to find him when I got off but bro was gone. and I know as a absolute fact it was him because my flight was from Nashville to laguardia, on his ig story he was in nashville the day prior and also lives there, and i checked his story next day and he was in NYC. this was around when the World Cup was happening. I am actually still mad I was so close to having the greatest flight I will ever have and I missed it by getting comfort+ and not first class and because I never got up to go to the bathroom or anything it was only a 2 hr flight I never double checked and honestly forgot. Anyways hopefully someone can understand how mad I am.

its Sunday so I can’t even text my recruiter or call meps and ask. I did just move from a different state and my recruiter did all of my paperwork with my out of state id, am I able to go get a temporary paper id for this state and use that along with my social and birth certificate? or am I going to have to wait 2 weeks for my new license to come in because this state doesn’t issue same day licenses and I can’t do anything until I get it? I am not doing the medical portion i am just going to take the asvab btw.

i take the asvab Monday , I don’t mean taking them into the testing room with me in the container I mean putting one in and keeping it in my mouth for the duration of the test. am I gonna get a mouth inspection when I walk into the room? and what would probably be the consequences if I was caught?

I go to meps next week, 2 of my friends from highschool are currently in the navy, they both said bootcamp was the funniest shit they have ever lived thru and my recruiter said it is the funniest place im ever going to be but I’m not allowed to laugh. how accurate is this?

to further explain my question, does having an aircrew job or working as an aircraft mechanic look exactly the same on your airline resume as being a line cook or doing infantry in the military and it’s just considered military experience? or does any aviation field look more favorable then any non-flying related job?

when I play in the morning just after some coffee i play so much better and everything feels smoother and i feel faster. after dinner, after breakfast, playing when I’m full ETC, I feel like lethargic as if I’m playing on xanax and I keep messing up. anyone else agree or notice this?

taking a boy and a girl, the girl is about 10 years old, the boy is about 2 1/2 yrs old.they get along most of the time, the boy messes with the girl. but there never trying to kill eachother or anything crazy. anything I can give them to calm them down? i brang the boy in the car with me today for about an hour to see if hes okay, he was freaking out for about 20 minutes then started to calm down. any advice or things I can do to make this ride better for my cats and preferably make them not scream at me the entire ride. ps my seats do not go down in the back. thanks

for reference I am currently 190LBS , 5’10, and a 20 yr old male. I went from 245 to 184 now 190 because I have been in the gym a lot.
for starters let me tell you what didn’t work for me, weight loss pills, appetite suppressants, going on the stair master for outrageous amounts of time, tracking calories for every single thing I’d put in my body, weight loss apps, going on any kind of weird ass Diet ETC.

ill be completely blunt and tell you exactly what my days looked, and still look like.

wake up: have some coffee with some milk no sugar, don’t eat for about 6 hours, then I have a decent portion of really anything that isn’t absolutely horrible for you such as ice cream or candy or eat an entire bag of tortilla chips. I’d have like a burger with fries, or a chicken bowl or even some pizza And eat Until I am satiated. then around 2 hours before I go to bed I have something light like a bagel or make myself a sandwich. And when I’d go to bed and I still feel kind of hungry I just started fighting the feeling, because I figured out when your going to bed and your still hungry, your body is starting to go into a fasting state. And if your laying in bed, and start feeling hungry, then go have a huge bowl of cereal(horrible for you btw idc what anyone says) or if you go and devour an entire carton of Ben and jerrys, your now sleeping and NOT burning calories. your body is burning off all of the extra calories you just endulged in and there’s a pretty good chance your waking up STILL burning off the calories; instead of using sleep to your advantage and being able to wake up and feel completely fasted.
another tip I must add is TAKE PROGRESS PICTURES. not a picture every other day. I’d do one about once a month or 2. I promise you if you do not take progress pics you will absolutely not feel like you lost anything.
another thing I just want to say is, the 3 meals a day thing is a myth I have no idea where that stemmed from but, you do not need to have 3 huge meals a day. i hardly ever have 3 meals a day and never have breakfast.

another thing I will add is I absolutely hate when I hear “don’t drink your calories” If you drink 600 calories of milk i promise you , you will feel so much more full then if you eat 1000 calories of McDonald’s.

so anyways if I had to start over and make rules they would be this

•no food with excessive amounts of sugar or extremely greasy restaurant food
• no eatting within the first 5-6 hours of waking up( I promise this gets so easy after like 3 days)
•no Walking to the pantry after your last meal to go grab food

•do not buy garbage when you go to super markets

anyways sorry if this sounds unethical or blunt, it worked for me and I’ve kept off 60 pounds of fat simply by skipping 1 1/2 of what I’d usually eat. feel free to ask me anything.

Edit: also kind of angry because I gifted this guy who was SSL on tik tok live because he said if I gifted he would 1v1 and he completely ignored me then went off live.

For reference I am C1 peaked C2 currently D3 because of the season, p3-peaked d1 III in 1s, l've 1v1d my friend who is GC2 in 2s. I can actually score on him, last time we played it was 3-13, he tells me I probably wouldnt be able to touch the ball if I 1v1 a SSL because the skill gap between GC2 and SSL is pretty massive (he's prob right), I dont believe I've ever 1v1 a SSL because its such a small percentage and I don't think any SSLs are smurfing in my 1s rank. if you can please let me know it's been 2 years since I've been playing and have been wanting to do this.
