What would you do?

28F, family history of breast cancer
If you had an ultrasound in January that showed only 2 tiny dermal cysts 3mm and 8mm at 11 o’clock area and 1 o’clock assessed as bi rads 2 but are now feeling a pain in the same breast near nipple when pressed, would you push for a second ultrasound?

Blood when wiping

28F, 5’5, 100 pounds (always been very petite), no current medications, nonsmoker, current medical conditions are thoracic outlet syndrome. Currently awaiting phone call to schedule surgery for first rib resection.

Today after I pooped I noticed a little bit of bright blood on the toilet paper with wiping. I didn’t think to check my poop (I flush after pooping then wipe and flush again) but definitely will check next time. My poop consistency fluctuates. It’s usually normal but sometimes hard or sometimes close to diarrhea depending on what I eat. Sometimes I strain but not excessively or anything. Today and last night was close to diarrhea. Yesterday morning it was more hard, but just noticed the blood today. No pain or itching at all but I do tend to wipe a decent amount after pooping to make sure I’m clean. At home I use wipes but I was at a restaurant this time with no wipes. I should add I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy maybe 2 months ago with normal results outside of GERD being diagnosed. Should I be worried?

Venogram

Had my venogram today. I need someone to help me understand my results if you can! When I did my arterial and venous ultrasounds 3 weeks ago, I was told I have severe positional compression, right arm, both artery and vein with normal flow at rest. Then, I was sent for a cervical spine xray and chest ct with arm up. Xray showed no extra cervical ribs. CT showed that when my artery passes through the first rib and clavicle it is compressed to a near flat position, remainder of artery is unremarkable. Had my subclavian vein venogram today with my surgeon to find out that the compression is not positional. That this compression is with arm at rest also. 94.6% stenosis to be exact and I’m full of collaterals compensating for this. My question is if the vein is actually being compressed at all positions, isn’t the artery being compressed at all positions too? I asked my surgeon and he said he’ll just have to see when he gets in there. I’m supposed to receive a call with my surgery date in the next few days for first rib resection and possible vein repair is what my paper says. My artery wasn’t seen on the venogram obviously but if there’s damage to it as well, can the artery be repaired? I’ve never had a blood clot and my symptoms are minor which blows my mind with a 94.6% compression. I’m trying not to get scared but it’s hard. My surgeon said I really need to do this surgery with this kind of compression or I’m definitely going to clot and I understand that but I am worried about my artery too.
My results from venogram today:
Diagnostic findings:
- Right mid subclavian vein: 90-99% compression.
- Right distal subclavian vein: 0% compression.
- Right proximal subclavian vein: 0% compression.
- Right axillary vein: 0% compression.
- Right upper basilic vein: 0% compression.
Interventions:
Right Proximal subclavian vein
- IVUS 0.018 IVUS
- Residual stenosis: 0%
Right Mid subclavian vein
- IVUS 0.018 IVUS calculated stenosis: 94.6%
- Residual stenosis: 90%
Right Distal subclavian vein
- IVUS 0.018 IVUS
- Residual stenosis: 0%
Recommendation:
Schedule first rib resection with possible subclavian vein repair.

eGFR

28F, 5’5”, 100 pounds (I’ve always been very petite), only medications are an otc vitamin d supplement daily, don’t smoke. This is my cmp from May 5, 2026. I’m wondering if an eGFR of 75 at 28 years old is a concern? Shouldn’t it be higher? Most recent urinalysis included.

Help understanding Medicaid

My boyfriend, me, and our 2 kids all live in 1 home and is our Medicaid household. He’s the only one that works and has worked for the past 7 years. I’ve reported every job change, income change, address change, every change that I’m supposed to, to keep us insured. I am still married from a previous relationship, but my husband is not my kids’ dad. My husband and I split up years ago, he lives in a different state, and we have just never finalized a divorce. Irresponsible, I know. He does not give me money or anything that needs to be reported, as he shouldn’t. After my husband and I separated, later on I met my kids’ dad and got pregnant and immediately applied for Medicaid for prenatal care. We had our son and then our daughter, but in TN if the woman is married to someone during the birth of a child, the husband is considered the LEGAL father. I did not put my husband on their birth certificate but I also couldn’t put their biological dad on it. It’s just me on there so my kids had to have my last name, which is still my husbands last name. Like I said, irresponsible I know. When I spoke with Medicaid about this, they said my current boyfriend’s income is what counts because we all 4 live together. In Tennessee, from my understanding, parents/caretaker relative can get coverage for theirselves if they’re under the income limit for their family size. The income limit for parents/caretaker relative of minor children to have coverage for a family of 4 is $2,750 monthly (100% fpl). I have been a stay at home since my kids were born (over 6 years). Like I said, I have reported every job change, income change, address change, every change that I’m supposed to, to keep us insured or denied if we weren’t eligible anymore. I am not in any way trying to receive benefits illegally and chance legal action towards myself so I’ve always prioritized to report everything on time and accurately. I’m confused though. We have always had a higher income than $2,750 monthly, the income limit for parents/caretaker relative of minor children to have coverage for their self, but I’m still approved. The kids are approved too but that makes sense because the income limit for the kids is way higher. I don’t understand how I’m still approved though because we make over $2,750 monthly with just my boyfriends income. Medicaid told me that even though I stay home with the kids and don’t bring in any money, his income counts for all of us because we all live together. Their dad applied at a later date because he doesn’t have health insurance and he was denied. The reason was he is not in a group they cover and under the income limit, but I took it as he was denied because he isn’t their legal dad and I have let them know that so he wouldn’t fall under the “parent of minor child/children”. But I still don’t understand how I’m approved when his income applies to me also, from my understanding. For renewals, I have our coverage set up to where TennCare can access what they need to on their own to determine our eligibility so I don’t have to do it manually every year. I keep everything up to date on my end as far as reporting any changes. I don’t file taxes because I don’t work and no one else claims me. My boyfriend, kids’ biological dad, does claim them because he works and provides for the 4 of us year round. Someone please explain if you know. So sorry for any confusion!!

Venogram

Ok guys! I saw the surgeon today, he is a surgeon from the TOS list online. I’ve had arterial and venous ultrasounds. Results were severe compression to both subclavian artery and vein with arms up only on right side, normal flow at rest. Left side normal during all maneuvers. Also, I’ve had an xray and CTA. Xray didn’t show cervical ribs but he did say a bone on the left and right side of the top of my spine is a little big compared to normal, but not a concern to him. I asked him if said bone can continue to grow and eventually be an issue? He said no, it stops growing when your body finishes developing. (I cannot remember the name of the bone he said 😩) my CT report said my artery is nearly flat with my right arm up. He said he checked my CT photos and yes, my artery is compressed but not nearly flat. He said a percentage of the population has some compression with arms up. No damage to my artery was noted in my report thank god. What originally prompted my scheduling with the vascular institute is I learned in the ER a couple years ago that I have “extensive chest wall/axillary collaterals likely due to stenosis of subclavian vein”. I was in the er for pneumonia and that’s what prompted the CTA that time. The collaterals were totally news to me. I don’t have symptoms. Very mild ones anyway. I’ve never clotted. I didn’t schedule then because I had just had a baby and a toddler at home and with no major symptoms, I just continued on. Anyway! The surgeon said today he wants to send me for a venogram before we decide on surgical route. Has anyone had this before? If so, what’s it like? How did you feel?

Opinions?

Can someone help me understand? Very new here and still learning. Ultrasounds were a couple weeks ago, cta and xray done today. I know the surgeon will have to decide on surgery or not, but based on my reports, opinions on if you think I will be a surgery candidate or not would be greatly appreciated!

Help

Yesterday I got my ultrasound results and I posted them in here but I’m posting again because I have a question. Back in 2022 I had a chest CT with contrast for an unrelated matter. I had pneumonia. In my CT results I learned that I have “extensive chest wall/axillary venous collaterals likely due to stenosis of subclavian vein”. That was 4 years ago. I’ve never had a blood clot that I know of. I’ve just now started seeing a vascular specialist for this and learned my results below. Since learning these results, I am scared because with a blood clot, the nurse yesterday explained, my arm will swell up/turn colors and I would need to get to a hospital asap. She then said with an aneurysm, this is no warning until it bursts and she said my artery is involved in this based on my results. So am I wrong/overthinking for being absolutely terrified that I’m gonna form an aneurysm at any second? Of course I’m worried about a blood clot too but she explained that you kinda have a warning with that. I have 2 small children and I’m home alone with them usually all the time because their dad works. I have little to no support system. She just really scared me. I immediately got hot and nauseous when she said this. She was talking to me sympathetically which made me feel worse. It made me feel like a ticking time bomb that could just drop any second. Maybe I’m overthinking it. I do have terrible anxiety. With all of that being said, she said she sees the surgeon on Thursday and is to contact me Friday or Monday with a game plan. I will then have an opportunity to schedule with the surgeon to just discuss everything. She didn’t have many answers as she’s just a nurse but he is a surgeon on the top TOS list website. Dr. Cuozzo in Chattanooga, TN. She said he may not wanna mess with it considering the risks, which scared me also.
My results again:

Right upper extremity arterial ultrasound
Findings: CW Doppler utilized to obtain wrist/brachial indices bilaterally. Thoracic outlet maneuvers performed.
Conclusions:

 1. Wrist/brachial indices are within normal limits bilaterally.
 2. There is severe amplitude reduction of the right digit waveforms with provocative maneuvers suggestive outlet compression.

Right Upper extremity venous ultrasound
Findings: B-mode imaging with color and spectral Doppler are utilized to evaluate the veins. TOS maneuvers performed with arm raised 180 degrees. The subclavian vein diameter reduces from 8mm to 2.5mm and flow decreases from pulsatile 13cm/sec to continuous 3.7 cm/sec. The flow in the axillary vein reduces from pulsatile 8.7 cm/sec to 2.4 cm/sec.
Conclusions:

 1. No evidence for deep or superficial venous thrombosis of the right upper extremity.
 2. There is evidence of venous thoracic outlet on the right arm.

Movement around bellybutton

28F, nonsmoker, 5’5, 100Ibs, I take Zoloft 50mg, otc vitamin d, and pantoprazole. No known medical problems. For the past year or so since losing 25 pounds due to being put on thyroid medication when my thyroid was actually normal, I’ve had these movements around my bellybutton every day. I’ve had a clear ct scan and also I just had a colonoscopy and endoscopy done. I was diagnosed with GERD and BAM (bile acid malabsorption). I gave birth to a 9 pound baby almost 4 years ago and I’m 99% sure I have diastis recti from my baby being so big and me being so tiny. No known hernia. Doesn’t hurt, just an odd rolling, wave feeling. Could this be from having diastis recti and making things more visible? I do have a pretty wide gap in my abdominal muscles.

Breast lump

28F, I had an ultrasound done on my right breast on January 22nd for a lump. I’m very, very small chested.

FINDINGS: There is a 8 mm hypoechoic dermal lesion at 1 o'clock likely a small follicular sebaceous cyst with a benign appearance. There is a similar 2nd lesion measuring 3 mm at 11 o'clock also within the dermis and likely a benign follicular sebaceous cyst. No suspicious mass, clustered micro calcification, architectural distortion, dermal thickening or adenopathy is present to suggest malignancy. IMPRESSION: BI-RADS category 2 benign.

Fast forward to now and this same lump, that I felt before, feels like it’s grown a little and feels hard. It feels connected to tissue. It’s not just a single lump by itself. It’s almost like a rounded, raised area of the breast tissue maybe, but definitely prominent. It moves with the tissue, not by itself. Maybe it’s the cyst I’m feeling that the radiologist referred to? It is fixing to be time for my cycle and I check these things often. I had a breast exam (gyno felt with hands) at my yearly a month ago and she didn’t seem concerned with anything but it feels different to me now. Should I push for another ultrasound? Or am I totally overthinking this considering it’s only been 4 months since my ultrasound? Breast cancer does run in my family but not my immediate family.

D-Dimer

Any reason the dr that did my colonoscopy and endoscopy would check my d-dimer immediately after waking up in recovery? Nothing abnormal happened during scopes with anesthesia (no slowed breathing, no low blood pressure etc.) I’m just confused. Will be calling when office opens. D-dimer did come back normal. I was able to speak with a nurse that was present in the room during my scopes. She pulled up my file and dr didn’t write anything about d-dimer in notes.

Chest collaterals

28F, 115Ibs, I take otc vitamin D. In 2022, at 24 weeks pregnant, I developed pneumonia. I went to the er with terrible lung pain/high fever. Couldn’t breath or move like normal because of the pain of my lungs being on fire. The ER dr thought I had a blood clot in my lung. My d-dimer was elevated but I was told that can happen during pregnancy. After a CT, the infection in my lungs was confirmed, but also in my report it said I have right axillary and chest wall venous collaterals likely due to stenosis of right subclavian/axillary vein. This was news to me. I’ve never had a clot. I’ve never had discoloration or swelling of my arm. I asked them what I need to do about this and they said nothing if you’ve never clotted. Basically explaining that these collaterals have allowed my blood to reroute and that it’s fine, til it’s not. I went home and completed my antibiotics for my infection and carried on with life. Had my baby successfully, my son started school. Life just kept rolling and the vein situation wasn’t a true priority for me. Still to this day, I’ve had no clot or anything unusual with my arm. Has anyone seen this without ever clotting? In my CT report it said “likely due to” so no confirmation. I scheduled with my local vascular institute for Monday. But now that I’ve been thinking of this, I swear I’m feeling chest pain on my right side.

Had my baby successfully, my son started school. Life just kept rolling and the vein situation wasn’t a true priority for me. Still to this day, I’ve had no clot or anything unusual with my arm. Something I do experience and have for over 10 years is excruciating pain at the base of my neck from behind. Where your neck ends and shoulder starts from the back. If this area is massaged, I feel pins and needles and numbness, but just in that spot. If im not on my feet much/inactive, it doesn’t usually bother me or is tolerable. I’m a stay at home mom but when I had a job, constant pain there. Anytime I have to be on my feet for really any amount of time, that spot flares. Even if im just walking around a store to get groceries. Has anyone experienced this? In my CT report it said likely due to stenosis of subclavian vein. No confirmation. I posted this photo to show where my pain is. When I look in the mirror at my chest, my collarbones are not even. My right side is different than my left but not by much. I’m just confused. I’ve decided I need to deal with this because I don’t handle the unknown well. I suffer with terrible anxiety. I scheduled with my local vascular institute for Monday. I’m curious if anyone has dealt with this? If so, what was your plan of action?

28 F , 5’5 , 120 pound , no smoker. I take otc vitamin d and just recently stopped mirtazapine and buspirone for anxiety and depression. I went to the er with abdominal pain to the point I couldn’t eat without gagging. A constant feeling of fullness with no food and noises from the gut. No appetite whatsoever. This has lasted a week. I was given a bag of fluids and soon after rolled off to a ct with contrast,
FINDINGS: Lung bases are clear. Mild intrahepatic periportal low-density
could reflect very mild edema.
The gallbladder, spleen, pancreas, adrenals,
kidneys, urinary bladder unremarkable. Retroflexed uterus. Trace pelvic free
fluid presumed physiologic. Bowel unremarkable with normal appendix. No
adenopathy
<br/IMPRESSION: Nonspecific mild findings in the liver could reflect a mild
hepatitis, correlate lab. Otherwise negative study

To add.. my bloodwork came back totally fine. Even my liver enzymes. All normal. Any ideas about periportal low-density? I was given a bag of fluids before my ct.
