Before Edward and Sir Topham Hatt leave for their holiday on the Mainland, he warns Thomas about 3 new diesel being brought to help out on trial while they are gonna be away. Thomas was shocked and worried as he asked Edward what kind of diesels they are to Edward. Soon Edward explains that one is a BR Class 42 diesel with a claw who goes by the name Diesel 10 and the other 2 are BR Class 08 diesel shunters named Splatter and Dodge. Sir Topham Hatt also explains that the three diesels are also brought in to replace Arry and Bert at the Sodor Ironworks after they've been sent away for the cruel trick they played on Stepney. Thomas was so worried as he decided to tell the other engines about this as Edward and Sir Topham Hatt leave for their holiday.
