basically i've been learning Japanese for a hot minute now and upon opening the app today as usual one of the villain's said the intro title. as I got better at Japanese I became able to understand most of it but two words always slip me.

so i decided why not for pronunciation practice and translation sake shouldn't I try to repeat the line back to Google translate.

And I did. So here are some funny results that prove I either still have a ways way to go in my learning or that Google translate sucks. or both. at the end though I believe I got the most accurate yippee

around a month ago i asked on here if anyone could convince me to read Alfons' route because as much as i loved him from the outside back then i was too scared to go through with it because of not so good reviews and just the implications of his persona. even after reading encouraging replies i was still hesitant

but omg i couldn't be more grateful that i was convinced, i literally finished it in 2.5 weeks.

i have never finished a route so fast in Ikemen series history. i mean i literally almost laped m>!​!<y ikeprince progression.

this man made me use up my usually inactive story ticket reservoir just to keep advancing. did Alfons piss me off? yes. was i yelling at my phone like somebody who needs to take a break from otomes? yes. and yet it was so worth it.

Alfons can now truly be right behind the ultimately loml Elbert (and then right beside him Ellis and Ring and Liam and Darius and Vict—) when it comes to owning my heart because i just wanna wrap my arms around him and love him to pieces.

if i were to decide my top three raging/crying moments (highkey impossible for this route, there's too many) i'd say in no particular order (major spoiler for Elbert's route in the second bullet point):

now i don't want to write anymore spoilers but the overwhelming, beautiful, and emotionally saturated love in the end makes up for any wrong or frustration. in fact upon completing the mad love ending it really made me reflect on how necessary it all was and how all of that tied back to who Alfons is and his experiences.

i can't be happier honestly right now i love him sosososo much sigh...

and now i wonder if i should pursue Harrison or Victor next... or maybe even wait for Ring...

im afraid that until they bring him back every instagram update is going to look like this... infold lock in and stop trying to pretend like everything's alright

a little bit of hopium to see them already spamming this. i don't know what to think when it comes to the question of "will infold see this/care about it? when will they do something?"

however it's nice to see that from what I've scrolled so far (there are SOOO many comments) most are calling for Ao Yin's return. in fact i only saw two negative ones which were mostly telling people to "not discuss Valko here" but hey, that's two out of like three hundred.

honestly this is ultimately so numbing and mildly dissapointing for me (because the bar is at the ground i doubt i can be disappointed much more) considering Caleb is my second main and how much i like watching basketball. regardless it's time to stay strong for Valko once more

anyways i just wanted to share this so we can have more clarity about what's been going on over in mainland China when it comes to public sentiment and information

all of this information and pictures (attached) i gathered are from the latest video from Angel's Corner on YouTube! please go watch her videos they are so insightful and cover things from angles we haven't even thought of

basically the key parts i took away were:

1. Recently more neutral to positive-neutral news coverages have been published in China regarding Love and Deepspace; not at the same rate misinformation was spreading last month, but it's definitely rolling out. CCTV a major news outlet in China (think of your country's biggest news outlet) have covered the otome genre as a whole which did mention Love and Deepspace at one point. It wasn't necessarily positive or negative. Although, "problems" in the genre were discussed when it came to Love and Deepspace.

A part of the segment followed a woman whose thirteen year old daughter used an ID to register for an account and then proceeded to spent around 4,000 USD. For context in China to play Love and Deepspace you need an ID to verify yourself as 18 + since that is what the game is strictly labeled as over there. It's not an uncommon practice for games there (another example is Where Winds Meet)

Despite that CCTV spoke about how the entire blame isn't exactly on the game and that parents should be more involved in what their children are doing online. Online commenters share this specific sentiment as well. Citing that parents shouldn't be letting their kids roam free online and should monitor what they're doing.

and omg they used Xavier's Lingering Lust card as an example of how 18+ Love and Deepspace is... i'm gonna screen record mine to be safe

2. On July 25th on Weibo (sort of like Twitter in China) some accounts with quite large followings posted polls asking about how players feel about Valko and if they want him back. You can see the results in the pictures attached. You can also see that according to the behind the scenes data most of the users voting that they do not want Valko back are born after 2010. let's pretend I'm not born two years before 2010

think about all the vitriol. the vile nonsensical language and theories that were thrown around a little more than a month ago. i'm not saying all antis are non-spending or parent money stealing children. however, this data makes you think. no wonder antis are so childish and misinformed; children are naturally childish, misinformed, and prone to subscribing to bullying. wait i wonder if some of the antis over here are children...

3. do you recall the gorgeous "letters for valko" initative the CN girlies made? well, we officially have letters from over 50 different countries and 6,000 messages preserved online! it's so nice to see the beautiful art, flowers, and wolf plushies on display. girlies visiting there. The organizers even provided 100 free coffees for Infold or PaperGames staff.

remember everyone that your voice matters and that positivity ALWAYS brings more benefits than negativity. please be kind, drink water, don't engage with misinformed trolls (it's easier to convert somebody to a religion), and remember you're being heard.

i got an iPad as a graduation gift (my first Apple product if that's relevant) and i'm super happy and grateful. however now, i can't stop wondering about how i could make it look cooler. a simple search led me to "iPad skins."

i couldn't find much content on them at all, only one or two application videos on YouTube. it gives me the impression that it might not be that common to get an iPad skin; so i'm wondering if i can get some insight on how reliable/I guess nice they are.

specifically i think I'll buy one from DecalGirl, my favourite colour is purple but i'm stuck on deciding which so I'd also love for opinions on which one you think looks the best, ty in advance

It's finally that time for me; character reselection

i just finished Ellis' Route (i adore him so much he's definitely in my top 4 fave) and now the only routes i have left to complete before i can start my second playthroughs are Harrison's, Williams', Victor's, and Alfons'

Harrison is out of the running because his preview didn't pull me in enough. maybe i'll change my mind when i finish second playthroughs

William is similarly out of the running because of his preview. however, the insightful reviews i've read about his route played a significant role as well and confirmed a few suspicions i had

in otomes in general I've always had an aversion to whoever the devs make the obvious "poster-child-you-should-play-me-first-tutorial-esque" LI for some reason

my sweet, sweet Victor is out because i've been warned to do his last due to major lore spoilers

and that leaves... Alfons

if you've seen my profile (shameless plug: P7L8VUGET) you can tell that i've already prematurely given Alfons a spot as one of my biases. partly because he's cute, partly because he's funny, partly because i love the event stories i have for him, and partly because of his dynamic with my dearest Elbie. >!(please tell me i wasn't the only one who was half gagged half turned on when he kissed us in Elbert's main route)!<

the thing is i literally haven't heard a single good thing about his main route and i just know based on how he is and routes he's had significant appearances in >!(Elbert, Liam, a bit of Ellis'… actually this guy is everywhere)!< that i'm about to have to put up with some BS

i like my LIs clearly in love with me at least nearing the end, any shenanigans that do happen aren't even thought of twice if they were technically/actually for me>! (love you Jude)!<

am I just putting up with BS to put with BS in Alfons' Route? Is it at least fulfilling in the end? I really want to love him fully by reading his route instead of cosplaying. give me all your reviews and opinions on his main route pretty please 🙏
