I’m hoping to get some restoration advice on a piece that holds massive sentimental value to me. This watch belonged to my father, who wore it almost every single day for about 30 to 40 years. I want to bring it back to life so I can wear it myself.

The Watch and Its Quirks:

The watch is an early 1970s Citizen Automatic "TV Dial" (Model 61-6516). Interestingly, the caseback is stamped "PARA WATER", which I understand places it right around 1970–1973 before Citizen transitioned to "Water Resist."

The coolest part? While the head is a Citizen (running a 21-jewel mechanical movement, likely the Caliber 6501), the bracelet clasp is branded HMT. Given the deep historical manufacturing ties between Citizen and HMT in India back in the day, I absolutely love this pairing and intend to keep them together.
