I’m currently serving my probation for H+H Clerical Associate, but I hate my role. I’m about 4 months into probation. I just received an offer for Housing Assistant at either Sumner Houses, Breevort Houses, or Langston Hughes Houses for NYCHA.
Can any current Housing Assistant speak to the job? What it’s like? What are some of the daily responsibilities and your likes and dislikes?
H+H Clerical Associate feels like a dead end job and my manager is unsupportive. There doesn’t seem to be much room for growth.
People in NYC who work 2 jobs, what hours are your shifts? Does public transit make it harder to maintain your numerous jobs?
I graduated during the pandemic and I’ve job hopped pathetic, entry level jobs since then. I graduated by the skin of my teeth with a psych/public degree from the college, but life hasn’t been the best. Living in bumfuck outer boroughs, credit card debt, low savings, depression/anxiety, etc. I don’t even make $50k salary. I’m the first in my family to graduate college, but I don’t have much to show for it. I just turned 26 and I want to finally feel like a “success.” Am I the problem?
