Damn racoons ripped my tent and stole my bread

I duct taped it back together but still! Those damn coons ripped my tent while I was in a deep sleep.

Damn someone stole my tarp

I moved to a new spot in the same wooded area. I was gone for about 4 hours and I just got back to my tent to see I’ve been invaded. Looks like they just took the tarp that was over my tent but everything inside looks in tact. Still feel violated..

[request] bike tubes for bike

Im homeless. I was gifted this bike from the good people at bicycling subreddit.

I did not take into consideration the rough terrains I would be taking my bike through. It caught some thorns and has many slow leaks. I purchased some patches and it helped a little bit but today my valve stem cracked and now I have to replace the tube.

I don’t have any money. I’m donating plasma on Monday for $50. But $42 is going towards my storage unit. I’m running on thin ice right now. It would mean a lot to me if anyone can buy me some tubes from Amazon and send it to a nearby locker..

Had a bum come up to me last night and accuse me of stealing his friends bike

Luckily I’m bum too with a 6th grade comprehension level so he probably thought I was a lawyer and that’s why he got scared and ran off.

Just did my first patch work

Instructions were kinda confusing because it said “put sticky side on surface” but neither side was really sticky. So I read the instructions even further and it said after placing the sticky side down remove the plastic from the top. I tried to remove the plastic from the top but it just kept taking the whole patch off. So I had to manually peel the patch off which is why you see those 2 dents on the patch.

I’m going to go quiktrip to get some soapy water and check if it’s leaking. Will report back soon.

Edit: still have some other small leaks. I took the tube out again and tried to find the holes but I couldn’t find anything. I filled the tube with some air and was pressing it around to try to find air leakage but couldn’t find anything. I did notice I lost about 3 psi but idk if that’s from leakage or from me constantly checking air pressure. Whatever this is gonna have to suffice for now.

Can someone direct me to a video of how to take off a rear wheel from a regular ass mountain bike you buy at Walmart?

Seriously every video I come across they are showing tutorials on how to take off the wheel by pressing a fucking button or pulling a fucking lever like hottt damn

Got thorns in both my tires and it has a small leak. What’s the cheapest easiest fix?

Context: I’m homeless and live in the woods. I purchased a bike off marketplace for $20 and it’s been a game changer for me. But I woke up yesterday to a flat tire. I have a hand pump so I pumped air in it and it seemed to be holding air.

I rode to quiktrip and topped off my tires with the good air. Rode it all day long and didn’t seem to notice a big deflation.

I went to bed and woke up this morning to 2 flat tires now. It wasn’t all the way flat but massively deflated. I pumped a little bit of air with my hand pump then went to quiktrip again to top it off. I went to the bathroom and got soap and mixed it with water and put it on my tires. There are 2 tiny leaks . One in each tire. Most likely from thorns from the woods I live in.

I was looking at the slime 2 in 1 sealant option as it’s only $11.99 on Amazon. My question is does anyone here have experience using it? And how effective is it? Would this be the cheapest option and easiest fix?

Thank you im advance

Got free tamales from a street vendor today

I was riding my bike around and he was shouting “tamales tamales” so I stopped and asked how much he said 3 for 10. I said I’ll come back another time I don’t have enough money. He then just gave it to me for free. He said “you try no pay”. Some people are just nice.

I just got an email saying they had to cancel my membership because I had an old account past due for $100

I forgot to cancel my old account. I thought if my card had no money it’ll just auto cancel. I didn’t know they’d bill me afterwards even though I stopped using them.

So fast forward two years (which is today) I sign up for planet fitness again. Same number and everything. It let me sign up. My app lets me click “check in” but I got an email from the manager saying they have to cancel my account unless I pay my balance.

So my question is, do I have any other options around this?

Will I still be allowed to just go in and scan like nothing ever happened and just keep the new membership in good standing? I don’t have $100 to spend right now on past due balances

Thank you u/hamcann0n u/joshpeck u/_vel0

Ty for the donation. This bike is doing wonders for me. It was listed at 75 and he brought the price down to 25. Then when I got to his place he gave me $5 back so I only paid $20. Then he gave me a phone mount for the handle bars.

I’ve probably lost 10lbs of water weight in the past week of riding

I was looking for a new spot in a heavily wooded area and came across this spot….is this a sundrop addiction or something more sinister?

I might clean this area up and build my temporary home here

If the rear doesn’t bounce does that mean it has no air pressure in the shock?

Just bought a cheap bike off marketplace. It rides but doesn’t absorb any shock in the rear. It’s just a flat slam. This is my first bike in almost 30 years so I know absolutely nothing about bikes

Homeless guy gets a bike

Thank you u/hamcann0n u/JoshPeck and u/_VEL0

I underestimated my physical capabilities. My legs feel like noodles right now. Almost passed out during my ride back to the city. Had to stop and lay down for 30 minutes before I felt good to go again.

This bike rides good and is very comfortable. But there are a few things I’m concerned about.

When I’m in gears 1-4 it makes a clicking sound and sometimes the chain will slip(?) not sure if that’s the correct term. But once I get to gear 5-7 is good. Is this normal?

Also when I go over bumps it’s rough. There’s no absorption at all. Is this a problem with the shocks or tire type or something else entirely?

Anyways thank you for your time. I might pass out now. Haven’t felt this tired since PE class in middle school.

Homeless guy still needs your help

So all my leads seemed like scammers or they just simply haven’t replied. Here the op I’m referring to https://www.reddit.com/r/bicycling/s/uLS0yaUDzN

Anyways I found this bike (which is kind of pricey) but he seems legit and brought the price down to $60 for me.

Here’s the link https://www.facebook.com/share/15sA7Zpu2sb/?mibextid=wwXIfr

Would this be a good bike for daily commute through sidewalks and urban areas?

Also would any of these $30 bikes be worth it? I always heard bad things about mongoose so idk

Homeless guy needs your help

These are the bikes that are close enough to me and within my price range. I have no knowledge of bikes so I wanted to ask yall for your opinions. Out of these 3 which one should I get?

My main usage will be riding up and down sidewalks and through some grass sometimes. This will be my main source of transportation.

The $30 one would be ideal because it’s the cheapest but I can spend the $60 if it’ll be worth it.

I quit my day job to live in a tent and play .05/.10 online.

This isn’t even the dumbest thing I’ve done in my life.
