I just wanted to share my most recent rescue, Polliwog. I found her literally just a few days ago while delivering for uber eats, which is how I found my previous three rescue cats. We were delivering to a sketchy area and it had a TON of colony cats. There were at least 3 cats in every other densely packed yard on the street. A lot of them dashed when my partner and I got out of the car but this little girl jogged right up. It was pretty clear she was barely if even a year old, and when I went to pick her up to check her over I figured out she was a girl and nursing kittens pretty quickly when I felt her mammaries. I couldn’t believe she was a mama this young and this skinny :(

Her situation was already wild to me, but when she led me to her kittens and who I assumed to be her mate I was absolutely shocked; the kittens where easily nearing 3-4 months and should be plenty weaned and were still nursing off of her, and this large male colorpoint cat, easily almost twice her weight, was also allowed by her to nurse with these three kittens. Poor gal was literally running herself dry and this cat and kittens were still nursing from her despite being more than able to eat solids and having all their teeth because she was docile and a consistent source of food for them.

I wasn’t able to grab any of the kittens but I was able to grab her. I only felt comfortable leaving them behind because they were more than old enough scavenge and eat solids. I believe so strongly that was her mate and for sure her kittens because the little ones looked like the perfect combination of mama and the large color point male. I also couldn’t in my heart leave her behind to her nursed to death by god knows how many cats in the colony because she’s literally so damn sweet. I also realized she must have had this litter of kittens from her very first heat based off of her age and theirs, she had been a mom for nearly half of her little life :(

After being home for a couple days she has been bathed and flea treated, de-wormed and she’s already in the works of getting booked for her spay as soon as I get accepted into one of the local low cost programs. She has been slowly filled with food to avoid re-feeding syndrome but she’s already looking heftier than when she arrived. Certainly far more energetic. She had some fresh, unseasoned and cooked salmon for probably the first time ever and she begs so hard and it’s the cutest. So many trills and chirps and she’s getting spoiled.

My boyfriend did not want a 6th cat. I didn’t even really want a 6th cat. From the time she arrived in our bathroom until the shelter scanned for her non-existent microchip, she had a name and was declared a permanent resident of the household 👀✌️

Hello, I recently came home with these ladies from a semi-local pet store. While they were separated from males (it’s not a big chain store, and I personally know the owners and they do care) I’m wondering if they didn’t separate from the males early enough or if one was mis-identified.

Specifically I am asking about the gold(?)/black/white variegated mouse. I know gold mice can have a gene that makes them carry a bit more weight but I am noticing that it seems to be a specific bulge/roundness around the waist and not a general chubbiness to her full body, so I’m feeling inclined to think this lady might be full of soup.

If she is pregnant, what are the best recommendations for setting up a nursery box/bin and when/if I should separate her from her companions to birth and raise her litter? I have a lot of DIY supplies on hand from custom building enclosures so making multiple setups with short notice is not much of an issue. I will also be able to accommodate adding healthy female offspring to my colony and adopt out any males that I am unable to keep in singular enclosures or with female ASFs.

Currently she is with two other girls in 10 gallon sterilite container with a bunch of boxes and clutter as that is the temporary quarantine bin until she gets introduced to the big enclosure (40x20x20 inches, about 70~ gallons).

Apartment put out sticky traps this month (not my ideal but they didn’t have snap traps on hand and the other option offered was poison) and after thinking we were in the clear tonight my cats alerted to something under the fridge and low and behold this little guy had been caught. I used vegetable oil to free them from the trap it’s slightly skinned lips and feet have already stopped bleeding.

I believe it is a juvenile house mouse as it’s fully gray/silver and barely bigger than a large grape. Based off of the last photo I was able to take I’m inclined to think female or male whose too young to have large balls.

I’m inclined to keep it because I’d been considering pet mice/rats for a few years now and I have an empty front opening 40 gallon reptizoo enclosure that would be perfect for for a good sized family, all I would need to do is properly set it up for comfort and enrichment, and I do have the funds currently to go grab things in the morning.

My main questions are:

1. Any genuine reason why not to keep the little guy?
2. Advice for making it comfortable as possible for the time being?
3. General tips for a first time mouse keeper? I’ve been doing research on and off for a few years but just never made the jump.

Hello everyone! This is my first "official" fakemon design that I've ever done.

Opaleon comes from the "Gamburra" region (I am creating a region based around Australia and Tasmania), and I chose Opal as it is the national gem!

I struggled a bit balancing the design to both not be too busy but also represent some of the crazy banding of ironstone and super colorful veins you would find in boulder opal. I might revisit it later on to refine details and have it match the Pokémon art style a bit more. The design is intended to be symmetrical, barring the rings around its left eye.

I created the ability "Hydrophane" to reference a real property of some opals, which causes them to absorb water very readily and become very dim and dull. Upon getting heated and thoroughly dried, their vibrant color returns. I would also like to fine-tune this ability to make sure it is not overpowered. I might change the stat to be an 80% reduction.

I’m not sure who’s leaving little charms about, but I’ve heard here and there about people leaving little trinkets in “hiding” spots for others to find. First one I’ve ever found myself, a red sparkle-filled duck blending in with the jalapeño beef patties at the Wegmans on Hylan drive. Absolutely charmed when I saw it and it is my little treasure. Hoping to acquire a few good trinkets myself to hide and spread the charm ☺️

Hello, I wasn't wasn't sure if I should have classified this has fluff or promo (not really promoting yet since my resource pack isn't quite approved on Modrinth), but I wanted to show off some of my favorite re-designs for pokemon/cobblemon shinies that I have done so far.

We have ice cream sundae Vanilluxe, softserve twist Vanillish, and little vanillite, all with a cherry on top! Then we have autumn-Leafeon, and finally Zebstrika looking like an actual zebra.

I have many other simpler improvements I have done, such as making the Garchomp line reflect the colors of shiny Gible, making shiny Gengar blue (and otherwise adding colors to shinies that barely change), and some slight alterations to well-loved shinies to make the actual colors match a bit better (such as making the blue and green on shiny Flygon slightly more compatible shades of color). If anyone is interested, I will post a more comprehensive list of what I've done so far and my to-do list going forward.

That being said, any other cool, thematic shiny ideas from anyone? I think my next fancy re-design is going to be Drifloon and Drifblim as those big, colorful/rainbow hot air balloons.

(Lastly here a bit of info on how my process works. The programs I use are Winrar to open up the jar file for cobblemon to extract textures and models. I use Blockbench to view the models and display the textures, and Paint Tool SAI in order to actually edit the textures. If anyone is interested I can make a short video of my exact step-by-step process. Lastly I use Visual Studio Code in order to actually implement the texture in my resource pack!)

Hello! (Celebrating my un-shadow ban with my first post back :D)

In my friends personal cobblemon server (v. 1.7.0 cobblemon modpack + about 40 mods of our own choosing) I decided to build a giant Hatterene to run a hat shop out of (we have the SimpleHats mod by fonnymunkey)

I still have a few small details to add here and there as well as finish up the interior, but I think she came out quite cute! I changed the color of the hat as when it was also blue it just looked out of place for some reason. Shifting the colors really made it stand out but didn't make her look too different from the original palette :D
