I think they should really lean into Batman’s tech in this coming iteration, here’s my attempt at that. The ears can flip back to go into detective mode, which is also I imagine when the eyes turn white. The inner of his cape is a reflective material that when lit can blind enemies.

Here we are! Finally reached an end concept that I’m happy with. Very happy with everything I’ve added and with a good recognisable silhouette too!
The sword I didn’t really spend any time on so that’s not how I’d have it look in a finished model

Some more work on my samanosuke concept. Added a pattern to the kesa robe that was more intricate and included both red and gold, I needed a way to add detail and gold into the design without over complicating the design.
Still working on the Oni side, working on the hair atm then next will be the gauntlet.
Not sure about if he should keep his outfit when he transforms so might change that too and then design a sword aswell.

Here's my first go at how samanosuke's oni form could look in a newer engine, pretty happy with how it turned out, and even more so with this gauntlet too. Very inspired by orchid flowers, trying to have a distinct separation between the Japanese and oni cultures. I haven't finished the oni armour as I haven't really finalised his human gear yet so will be working on that once I'm happy with his base outfit.

Messing around with some oni gauntlet designs, I really want to differentiate the cultures and push the oni to have their own design style, almost alien like elements.
Here’s a more realistic attempt at a samanosuke concept, here I wanted to focus on the difference between his Japanese attire and the oni gauntlet, I think 2 seperate cultures should have contrasting design, reflecting my perhaps odd approach of the gauntlet. Thoughts?
Here’s my fourth attempt at a modern samanosuke, bringing the red back in for this one, it really helps to define the character as samanosuke and not just some guy. Slide number 2 is a work in progress with a more dynamic pose. Thoughts?
Just played onimusha 1 and 2 back to back, and wow, onimusha 2 is so much worse than the first game. The story is all over the place, the characters are the best part but even then they’re generic. Am I the only one who doesn’t like 2?, I was under the impression that it’s the favoured game in the whole series.
Leaning more into the oni design here, my idea is samanosuke has discovered more items forged by the oni, including his chainmail. Any feedback or other directions I could go?
Another unfinished samanosuke sketch, here I give him chainmail forged by the oni, with highly protective armour segments weaved in. Other pictures show the inspiration. I think samanosuke at this point doesn’t need the heavy samurai armour as he is much more skilled than before.
