These are grey eyes, right?

Google mostly shows fake looking images with true GREY eyes. So not totally sure.

Our kitchen is long and narrow, no room for an island. Any thoughts other than an L shape counter?

I know the overall scheme is cool toned, the floor is two different grey tiles and our furniture/rug is warm. Ideally we’d love to get a vinyl wood toned floor and paint the walls a different color.

our idea is an L shape counter where the garbage can is. And possibly put a nice piece or cabinetry where the shoe bench is

any other thoughts would be great!

Just returned to Noom 6 years later and wow this app has really changed

I remember it being a lot more minimalist and simple and now the front page has too much going on…a weekly art break?? So many categories too… “todays highlights“ “build healthy habits” “stay on track together” “new for you today” “recommended”

its too much. what do you all think?

Before/after runner, I am so excited!

Our house came with this bland, dirty, and very 2016 coded runner. just updated it today and I’m so happy with it. Spent more than I wanted but it was worth it. Now to just paint the walls

I am great with kids, have an extremely flexible life, yet I am still not sure...

Almost 34, married. I love kids & when I see them out in the world, I always wave and smile and try to make them laugh. I can connect well with kids that are older like elementary school as well. Yet, when it comes to having all the responsibility fall on me & my husband, then suddenly I am so unsure.

I am extremely grateful to be financially secure - I was recently able to quit my job that I couldn't stand and figure out what else interests me in life (have some ideas, but haven't done anything about it yet lol. not sure where I see myself working). My husband works for himself and has an extremely flexible life as well (untraditional job). As of now (of course something could change, life is not guaranteed), we'd be able to make it work day-to-day without the demands of a traditional 9-530 job.

Then comes the phobia of vomiting and being in pain. That's something I've been talking about with my therapist. I know pregnancy is temporary but still if I feel nauseous, I will take a Xanax bc that's how much it freaks me out. I know there are meds for nausea but IDK.

My parents have both passed away and I don't have siblings. My BIL & SIL/nieces would probably be very involved and my in-laws live a little less than an hour away and would be involved... but they're not close enough to be here at the drop of a hat and are in their early 70s and only getting older. I have an aunt close by but she drives me bonkers and is also in her early 70s.

So yeah, those are my thoughts! I do want my own family and my husband does too but he says ultimately, he wants to do whatever I want to do. We've talked about WTF would we do for the next 30 years if no kid?? Not sure what could continue to be fulfilling for that period of time. We want to travel more but will that really keep me occupied for the next half of my life?

Thanks for reading.

This is my childhood kitchen vs. how the new owners renovated

The table was built into the wall which looking back is kind of interesting? Anyway, we sold this house in 2019 and my parents bought it in 1994. The new owners let me come by and see the renovations they did. Hard to believe it's even the same thing! I will say the realtor photo makes the kitchen look way bigger than it really was

If white kitchens are considered “dated”, what is now “in”? Are people going back to wood or earthy kitchens? Or infusing more color?

I think all white kitchens are timeless but I keep saying people they look dated…which I disagree with. I’m not redoing my kitchen or anything but I’m curious what is considered “in” now?

What is a brand that continues to make high quality products when so many other higher end brands have declined over the years?

Some examples- I have some hand me down all clad pans and pots and I am curious if they are still making high quality goods. I read that Chanel bags have severely declined in quality while prices only continue to rise.

EDITED TO SAY- i have my parents' Craftsman tape measurer from when i was a child and my husband just dropped it and now its not retracting by itself so hes trying to fix it 😞 if he cant fix it, im going to scour ebay for the exact one. its at least 30 years old

Why do so many recipes say 5-6 hours when food is done in half that time?

I can't tell you how many times i've overcooked chicken breast when the recipe calls for 5-6 hours slow. This time I checked it at 2.5 hours and it was done (and was probably done before the 2.5 hours). I think my pulled pork was done hours early as well. The only time you can do "low" on the crock pot is 8 or 10 hours. I guess those are for much larger batches of food?

i've been strength training since around september. when i've worked out in the past, i experienced my thighs getting stronger so my pants would be too tight in the thigh area. i'm experiencing that again but now some of my tops are tighter across the back too. i have a slender build naturally in my shoulder area so i'm not appreciating that my body is getting stronger and instead i am frustrated. i already have a hard time finding clothes that i am comfortable in. i am 5'2, 30E chest, with a figure 8 shape (my hips sit high, almost right under my bust and my butt is pretty flat), i have a tummy, and my pant rise is odd so it is extremely difficult to find pants that dont bunch in the front when i walk (and now the thicker thighs are making it that much more difficult as well). so all of these factors are making me feel uncomfortable in a lot of my clothes!! any advice or just nuggets of wisdom would be appreciated :)

to add, my 1 year wedding anniversary is coming up and im going on my honeymoon on weds and i spent hours trying on some clothes in front of the mirror that wiped me the f out mentally

my husband makes music for a living and with that comes filming himself playing outside in pretty scenery. We have 1 go to park nearby that’s pretty dead most of the time but he needs some new locations that are

  1. Easily accessible with a guitar and camera so he’s not lugging his stuff too far
  2. not many people around (during the week works for him if its a place that gets super busy on the weekend)
  3. Has Nice trees, scenery, etc

we live in Union county but are willing to go maybe up to an hour. Bonus if there’s a good spot to grab lunch or dinner nearby.

Thanks!
