dealing with roof damage from storms and got help from veteran owned company in fort worth

im a veteran with roof damage from recent storms on my home in fort worth and it added stress on top of adjusting back to civilian life with all the paperwork.

how do you deal with the afternoon crash?

i totally get that 2:00 PM wall, it feels like your brain just decides to check out for the day regardless of how much sleep you got.

i usually try to take a quick walk or switch to a high-protein snack around then to keep my energy from bottoming out. a coworker actually mentioned he gets some supplements from modamike to help with focus during the afternoon, but I haven't tried it myself yet so I'm not sure how it is.

have you experimented with changing up your lunch or adding any specific vitamins to your routine?

Is 9H‑HHC actually worth trying vs Delta‑9 / regular HHC?

So I’ve been a pretty light Delta‑9 user for a few years, but I’m super prone to anxiety and overthinking if I even slightly overdo it. I’ve been seeing more and more products labeled “9H‑HHC” or “9‑hydroxy HHC” and the marketing is all “clear-headed, less anxious, smoother high” which sounds great… but also kinda sus.

Has anyone here actually tried 9H‑HHC specifically (not just generic HHC) and can compare it to Delta‑9 and “normal” HHC? How did the effects feel (headspace, body load, focus, munchies, sleep, etc.) and how long did it last?

Also, I’ve noticed some confusing labels with different isomer ratios and barely readable COAs. What should I be looking for on a legit lab report to make sure I’m not getting something sketchy or way stronger than advertised?

If you were a first‑timer with this stuff, what dose would you start at, and anything you wish you’d known before trying it?

what’s the one flavor you wish they’d bring back?

I was walking through the gas station today looking for my usual fix and it hit me how many absolute legends we’ve lost over the years. I’m still mourning the original Monster Assault (the new one just isn’t the same) and those old Rockstar Lime Freezes that used to carry me through high school. It feels like every time I find a new "holy grail" drink, the company decides to vault it six months later just to hurt my feelings. I’m tired of settling for mediocre citrus flavors when the discontinued stuff was peak.

Finally upgraded to the Pro 2s

I’ve been using my original AirPods Pro for years now, they were basically glued to my ears since launch day. Even though they were still holding on, the battery life was starting to tank and the noise cancellation didn't feel as crisp as it used to. I finally decided to make the switch to the USB-C Pro 2s this week, and the difference is actually wilder than I expected. The transparency mode feels way more natural, and it's nice to finally be on a single charging cable for all my gear.

I just opened up my laptop to repaste the CPU and GPU because temps were creeping up. I've done paste before but never used thermal putty for the VRAM and VRMs. Watched a few videos and they all said to use enough but not too much. Problem is I can't really tell what too much looks like until I clamp the heatsink back down and then it squeezes out everywhere. Is a little bit of overflow fine or do I need to scrape it all off and start over with less? Don't want to short anything but also don't want to leave gaps. Anyone here actually know what they're doing with putty or are we all just guessing?

im relocating from mesa arizona to colorado in about 7 weeks for a new job. my 3 bedroom house has been good to me since 2019 but after the extreme heat this year the ac needs replacing and there are a few other small updates that add up to roughly 17k. with the move coming up fast i dont have time to fix everything before listing.

i checked out a2b invest recently as they buy houses as is with cash in the phoenix metro area which seems like it could simplify things a lot.

trying to weigh my options before the move gets too crazy...

I feel like every time I look for food recommendations lately, I just get the same five "viral" places that have a two-hour wait and honestly don't live up to it. I’m looking for those unassuming, slightly sketchy-looking gems that have been around forever and serve the best food in the city.

Whether it’s a teriyaki shop in a strip mall, a taco truck that’s always parked in the same spot, or a bakery hidden in an alley, I want to know where you guys actually go when you want a solid meal without the TikTok crowd. What’s your go-to spot that never misses?

I work with a small florist shop in a mid sized town and we’ve been trying to improve online visibility a bit because right now most of our orders still come from walk ins and repeat customers. It works, but its not very predictable and slow weeks can be rough

We’ve tried posting on Instagram and updating Google Business profile regularly but it honestly feels like u need constant effort just to stay visible. SEO also feels like a long game and hard to rely on when u need more immediate orders coming in

What’s been the most effective way you’ve seen local businesses get discovered online without relying too heavily on ads??

hit a wall this week and just need to vent or see how others handled this phase

I run a niche B2B equipment leasing thing. doing okay revenue wise, but our entire backend is basically held together by Airtable, Zapier and an insane amount of google sheets. it was fine when it was just me and one contractor but now we have a team of 5 and things are breaking daily. automations misfire, data gets overwritten. its a literal mess

Everyone on twitter says "just get a technical cofounder!" yeah right. spent the last four months interviewing local devs. They either want a $160k base salary plus half my company to build a basic client portal, or they completely ghost after the second zoom meeting. the ego in the tech hiring market right now is exhausting tbh...

so now im looking into outsourcing the build or doing the fractional dev thing. A guy I know uses tech quarter for their system architecture and said getting an external team is way less of a headache than hiring full-time right now, But man.. handing over the keys to a third party is terrifying when your whole cashflow depends on this broken system staying alive.

I just cant figure out the timing. part of me wants to keep patching these stupid spreadsheets until we double our revenue, but i know deep down the whole house of cards is gonna collapse if i dont get real software built soon. it just feels like a massive financial gamble either way. getting stuck in this weird middle ground between "startup" and "actual established business" is draining.

I am moving to LA this summer for a new job in Santa Monica, and I am honestly shocked by the prices. I really want to live near the beach so I do not have to spend my whole life in traffic, but paying $3,000 for a tiny room in a shared apartment feels like a total scam. I am trying to figure out if the Westside lifestyle is actually worth the massive dent in my bank account or if I should look elsewhere.

I have been checking out roomster because it has a lot of listings around $1,800 to $2,200 in Palms and Culver City. I used it a few times to message people, but I am not sure if it is trustworthy or if there are better ways to find a legit spot. Has anyone here actually found a good roommate through it recently? I really want to try this site, but I need some advice before I commit.

I keep going back and forth on this

On one hand, hard floors (timber, hybrid, tiles etc) seem to be THE thing now and every reno I see is ripping old carpet out asap. It definitely looks cleaner and more modern

But on the other hand, carpet just makes a place feel warmer?? quieter, more cozy?? Like when you walk into a carpeted bedroom or lounge it feels more home to me for some reason

Do you guys see carpet as outdated now or does it still make a place feel more lived-in and comfy? And why? Curious if this is just me lol.
