Has anyone ever tried locating fallen headstones?

My ggg grandmother died in 1898. Nobody knew anything about her until I found her obituary in the newspaper archives. 2 of her 3 kids are buried in the same cemetery the obituary claims she is. However, she does not apparently have a headstone.

The sexton of the cemetery is my dads 3rd cousin, he's up there in age, but according to his records, there is no record of her being buried there.

There are a lot of old, worn, and illegible headstones in the cemetery that have fallen over or been moved and rested beside a big oak tree on the grounds.

He thought maybe one of those stones could be hers. I've been thinking that if maybe she did have a stone it could have fallen over and buried. If nobody knew she was there, they wouldn't have reason to look. This cemetery was fairly neglected for a few decades.

The cemetery is only a 2 hour drive, and I still have family in the area to visit and justify the drive. So I was debating going down to the cemetery, and kind of prodding the ground around her kids headstone, just out of curiosity. Is there an edicate to such a thing, or anything to be aware of?

Deep diving into my family history, found out grandparents were related.

As the title says. I've been researching my family tree, and I recently learned my grandparents were actually related. I'm not talking direct relation, but actually closer than I would have ever thought. Not sure the terminology, (1st cousins 3 times removed perhaps?) But their great grandmothers were sisters.

Proper place to put someone's obituary?

I've always put the obituary in the bio section, and every time I've sent an obituary to be added to a memorial, I've sent it in the bio section. Every time it's been added, except for now, and it's making me wonder about the proper place it should be.

My wife's cousin passed away a few years ago in an accident. I'm always going through FG for my family so she asked if I could for hers. When I came across her cousin's page I noticed they never posted the obituary. I like to have them so future generations can know who they are and what happened to them.

I sent over the obituary as I normally do, and today I noticed the memorial manager declined to add it, and they told me I need to submit it as a photo on the page.

Cemetery records vs obituary

I was doing some digging and found the obituary for my great great great grandmother, from 1898. The obituary stated what cemetery she was buried in so I created a FG page for her. However, I met with one of the people who maintains the cemetery and records (he's a distant cousin). His paperwork shows no record of her being buried there. There is no headstone, and some of her kids are buried there.

This is an old cemetery, burials dating back at least 40 years prior to her death.

Wondering at what point I should go in for a check up

I received my diagnosis in March of 2025

The main symptoms such as the drooping, inability to close my eyelid, and dryness have long gone, roughly 10+ months ago.

However, I was left with an extreme sensitivity to sunlight in my right eye, as well as sporadic and semi aggressive twitching that comes and goes for months at a time.

From my research that's somewhat "normal" but how long is too long?

Bell's Palsey, light sensitivity, and twitchy eyes.

I'm really just wondering if I should go in and get checked out. 17 months ago, I went to the emergency department with concerns of a stroke. Thankfully not, they diagnosed me with bells palsy on my right side.

If it makes any difference, I'm 29, 5'9" and roughly 220ilbs

AI in Country music

On a recent road trip I took, I encountered an artist by the name of "Colt Wyler" that came through randomly. Some of the music I really enjoyed. I started doing a deep dive into the person, and I don't even think they're a real person. Every video on their socials is AI, and I cannot find any information regarding the person in question.

Is this really that way music is going?

Dad's Hesston Buckle collection.

Has been collecting Hesston buckles since 1974. He always kept them in a box in his closet and only took them out at Christmas to add his new one and he would sit there for hours looking at them before putting them away again for another year.

When I was still living at home, I found this coffee table on the side of the road for the garbage trucks to haul away. I took it and turned it into a shadow box for him to look at his buckles any time he wants. He loves it, and gets a lot of comments about it when people come work on the house.

Iowa USA, My family has had this trunk for generations. The story is it came over from Ireland in the late 1700s to early 1800s. It's the first time I've seen it personally, looking at it, it's old, but probably didn't come from Ireland. Any information about it like age or history would be great.

I'm just starting out my own business, and for years I have either used an M18 rotary hammer or a fence post pounder to drive ground rods.

The rotary hammer is usually only usable in soft soil, and the pounder isn't good for my already injured shoulder.

I have a M28 extended right angle drill and 4 batteries that I use for drilling houses, so its a logical tool purchase if it puts out more power than a M18 one.

Thoughts?
