I’ve lived in McKinney near Glen Oaks since early 2000. I have never seen and had so many door-to-door sales-dolts as have visited in the past year. They all come from the same crappy “never take the first no as no” school of selling.

The currently posted City packet lists a $35 background fee plus $15 ID-card fee per applicant, and asks for a $5,000 cash/surety bond or qualifying liability insurance. No door-to-door solicitation before 9:00 a.m. or after sunset, Monday–Saturday; none on Sunday, New Year’s Day, July 4, observed Memorial Day/Labor Day, Thanksgiving, or Christmas—unless the resident specifically requested the visit.
They must immediately stop if told no, cannot solicit a posted property, and cannot solicit a home with a compliant “NO SOLICITORS” sign. The ordinance specifies lettering at least ⅔-inch high on a weatherproof card at least 3×4 inches, conspicuously placed near the main entrance.
