I thought these guys were irrecoverable but while I was turning them into wrecks I realised they could have be salvaged… the Magos responsible has been dealt with appropriately.

Finished a the tanks for the Legions Imperialis box in the only way I knew how - Vraks!
These take a little while to paint up but I’m so happy with them!!
Vraksian Malcadors:
I couldn’t help but try make a Malcador Defender. Pretty easy conversion but you will need a lot of heavy bolters… I’m not planning an army of them (yet) but I can see myself having fun painting chaos stars.
Death Korps Leman Russes:
The vanquisher is my favourite, I’m very pleased that the white detail on the barrel came out so well. The numbers don’t take very long, and the Net EA list doesn’t let you take a whole lot of russes, so I’ll keep that detail. I think the pigment wash does a lot of heavy lifting, but less is more with this scale, I think.
I have some baneblades I want to try next, perhaps one each hehe

Made a terminator demagogue/dark apostle inspired by arcorigate on IG.
He’s a terminator librarian body with old cataphractii arms, a helbrute head with CSM horns and crozius, and the brazier from Abaddon’s base.
Not sure if to paint him red or grey…

Yes yes I know there’s a new scout kit. I actually used some parts from it to fill out weapon options I didn’t have (sniper and missile launchers specifically).
But these are 90% the original kit just with a 1.5mm spacer between their legs and torsos, and putty under the necks. I actually REALLY like this old kit, and they aren’t too tall like the new bois (compared to heresy scale, last pic).
They’re my kill team for Shadow War Armageddon; Astral Claws Scouts doing the Tyrants clandestine bidding… looking forward to painting!
Not sure what possessed me to go all out on this tank, but I’ve made flame cut marks and weld beads…
The Rubicon kit is nice. I got the resin upgrade tracks at a discount because they had shrunk but I got them to fit and it’s not too noticeable…
I added some photos of the “welding” process: carefully cut a shallow guide with a hobby knife, enlarge with a tamiya scriber, then roll putty into the groove and make the tiny beads with a tool (check Nightshift on YT for more details).
Also improved the smoke dischargers since the kit ones were pretty ugly. They’re made out of sprues and plastic rod.

Testing a Apostles of Contagion scheme on my first DG mini and BOY are these guys detailed. It’s so much fun painting the horrible crusty damaged armour but… then there’s maggots and teeth and tentacles and wood… jeez
