The trade network of Blausilber

These four maps show parts of the trade and production network behind Blausilber, the only known material capable of permanently destroying the bodies of demons from the Abyss.

From sacred forests and crystal forges to mining cities and continental trade hubs, the production of a single Blausilber blade requires enormous logistical, religious, and magical coordination.

Azurhain

Deep within the Blauglanzwald lies Azurhain, whose research fortress is dedicated to the meticulous and monotonous identification of leaves from the gigantic Arbofomen shrubs that bear a direct trace of Adavil’s touch.

These leaves are sent to Blaugarten, where they are crafted into the scabbards of Blausilber blades, ensuring the swords remain in a constant divine embrace even when sheathed.

Sayline

In Sayline, the rare mineral known as Sapphire Salt is mined- an essential component in the successful forging of a Blausilber blade.

Both the Church and the Mageia maintain a strong presence in the city to oversee the mining operations and ensure that the valuable salt is not diverted for other purposes.

Blaugarten

The Kaltschmiede of Blaugarten harness the power of the city’s colossal crystals to magically charge Blausilber.

Pulsing with unstable energy, the metal is then forged into blades capable of annihilating a demon’s physical form.

Both the charging process itself- performed through the crystals known as “Adavil’s Tears”- and the subsequent forging of the blade are extremely dangerous for the Kaltschmiede involved.

Maßgrundholm

In the great trade city of Maßgrundholm, located in the southwest of the Blausilbersenke, Blausilber is finally traded and distributed across the continent.

By ship, magical transport, or caravan, the metal is delivered wherever it is needed most- especially to the fortress systems of the Kaltsand and the churches of the Stromküste, most notably the Adavanorium Towalekanium, the training center of the Church Knights.

Which part of this network interests you the most:
the sacred harvesting, the dangerous forging process, or the continental trade routes behind Blausilber?

Three Settlements from the Principality of Grauhimmel

Here you can see three settlements from the Principality of Grauhimmel in the eastern regions of the Kingdom of Rivanor.
(The final image is the world map- Grauhimmel can be found in the northeastern part of the continent)

The settlements are Werholshaven, Goldharm, and Silberstein.

Near Werholshaven lie vast frostplum fields. Frostplums are a hardy fruit cultivated across the cold lands of Grauhimmel and traded throughout Rivanor, with caravans even carrying them as far south as Califala.

In Goldharm, fishermen catch the palebone trout, a valuable fish traded both within Grauhimmel and across the Blausilbersenke.

Silberstein lies far to the east, near the foothills of the immense mountain range known as the Silberwand. Here, silver ore is processed and transported westward across the continent. Part of it is also sent to Blaugarten, where the Kaltschmiede forge the highly sought-after Blue Silver- one of the few materials capable of resisting the demons of the Abyss, who threaten the continent from the Kaltsand far to the southwest.

Some fortress cities from my fantasy setting - which one would you want to learn more about?

A few fortress cities and strongholds from my fantasy setting Orenda.

Every location has a distinct distinct political, religious, or military role within the world

Which one would you want to learn more about first?

(The final image is the world map of Orenda for geographical context.)

  1. The Consecration of the Peacewardens - Hidden in the King’s Valley of Armalor. Here the Peacewardens are trained and consecrated - diplomats, investigators, and warriors tasked with monitoring the activities of humans, elves, dwarves, and orcs across the continent.
  2. Wallhort - A frozen fortress city near the Silverwall in eastern Glandorn. It serves as a major pilgrimage site and protects holy relics connected to Kaingar and his sons, the legendary First Humans.
  3. The Fortress of the Dragonlances - Located in the Principality of Adelsforst within the Kingdom of Armalor. The Dragonlances are one of the last military orders still dedicated to hunting the remaining dragons of the world.
  4. Damebrück - An ancient elven fortress in the King’s Valley. Over centuries, human bridges and settlements grew around it, but it has recently been reclaimed by the elven Silver Knights - tolerated, for now, by the human queen of Armalor.
  5. The Castle of White Salvation - Located in the Principality of Whitebreath in Armalor. Its uncompromising knightly orders are infamous for their hatred of non-human races and their growing influence over several human factions.
  6. Fortress of the Redvisors - Deep within the Coldsand of Rivanor. The Redvisors harden themselves through constant warfare against demons in order to remain the most feared mercenary order on the continent.
  7. The Adavanorium Towalekanium - A vast religious fortress where church knights devoted to the human gods Adavil and Towak are educated, disciplined, and shaped into fanatical defenders of the faith.
  8. Moonshadowsong - A fortress-port and trade hub along the Storm Coast of Rivanor, surrounded by violent seas, northern lights, and dangerous shipping routes.
  9. The Light Fortress - Located along the Storm Coast of Rivanor, the Light Fortress serves as one of the greatest centers of knowledge in Rivanor. Part library-city, part fortress, it houses scholars, archivists, pilgrims, and hundreds of ordinary citizens within its protective walls.

Abandoned Frontier Outpost – Snowy Encounter Map

A ruined military checkpoint somewhere deep within a frozen wasteland.

Broken walls, collapsed homes, old statues, cracked earth, and a road that still cuts through the snow long after the defenders disappeared.

Created in Inkarnate as a dark fantasy encounter map.

After seeing Lyonel Baratheon in a knight of the seven kingdoms, I really wanted to create my own version of Storm’s End (and other places in westeros). Ich will make High Tide and Harrenhal, too.

I’m currently developing the island realm of Astaria in my world and created several cities in a classic empire style with Inkarnate.

Now I’m trying to decide which one works best as the capital.

Which of these cities feels like it could be the political and cultural center of an island empire? And why?

Curious to hear your thoughts!
