Tips for learning MMA as a standup fighter
Hello, I’m thinking about learning MMA. I did boxing, Thai boxing and participate international in kyokushin karate. I also did Chinese Kickboxing for a few months (Combat Sambo/Wushu Sanda). A few times I went to MMA and wrestling training with friends for fun. Now I’m interested in competing in MMA, but therefore I need to start working on my grappling/bjj and wrestling. Do you have any tips on what I should focus on ( like e.g. takedown defense ) and how long I should expect to train to get ready for a fight. Should I go to MMA classes or should I specify in wrestling and grappling for the next few months.
