[Spoilers C3] What If Vox Machina, Mighty Nein, and Bells Hells swapped their deadliest encounters/near TPKs?

[Spoilers C3] What If Vox Machina, Mighty Nein, and Bells Hells swapped their deadliest encounters/near TPKs?

So I just posted about the closest TPK encounters for each of the parties (Vox Machina, Mighty Nein and Bells Hells). And got some interesting answers back. Seems the consensus is:

Campaign 1:

The trip into the 9 Hells. Occurred at level 15 with one party member (Ashley/Pike) missing. Several encounters over 3 episodes with a pit fiend, multiple devils and a chain golem. The objective was to kill Hotis permanently and then get out via planeshift.

The entire thing came down to a singular roll that if had gone differently was in Matt's words 'campaign over'. Some of the monster analysis is here.

Campaign 2:

Lorenzo and the Iron Shepherds fight. Occurred at level 5 with 3 party members missing (Fjord, Jester, Yasha) but one guest PC Keg.

The party's ambush went poorly, outnumbered and under-levelled they were nearly wiped by the Iron Shepherds and Mollymauk died. With only Keg's persuasion roll saving them. The monster analysis here.

Campaign 3:

So it seems it was a toss up between the two Otohan fights with the first one being the main pick. Bells Hells were level 7 at the first Otohan fight and had their full complement. Albeit they were somewhat separated in terms of positions and had spent resources earlier.

The fight went poorly with Otohan killing Fearne, Laudna and Orym. Only being stopped by Imogen going exaltant.

So my question is, how would the other parties have done in those TPK scenarios? Assuming they are at the same level and party numbers. Would it still be a TPK or near TPK?

How would Vox Machina have fared against Lorenzo and the Shepherds? Or against Otohan Thull?

Would the Mighty Nein have been able to escape Hell? Or kill Otohan?

Would the Bells Hells been able to kill Hotis and escape Hell? How would they have done against Lorenzo?

Edit: PC corresponding to cast member is missing in the different groups. So for the Lorenzo fight, Travis, Laura and Ashley were missing. Meaning their PCs for the Bells Hells and Vox Machina would not be present.

[Spoilers C3] Closest to TPK for each party?

At what point in C1, C2 and C3 were each party closest to TPK? Like if the result of one roll had gone differently they would have all or at least most of them died? Or just their most dangerous encounter?

[Spoilers C3] Who is your favourite character across all 3 campaigns and why?

Ive really grown to appreciate Beau.

Her arc's not necessarily incredibly in your face, but I kind of appreciate that aspect of her character. Its a more subtle arc of going from an angry teenager whos all 'fuck the man' to more analytical shift as she grows up and moves on from her trauma and sees a bigger picture. Taking onboard the lesson of 'leave the place better than when you found it' and focusing more on specific assholes who are pulling strings behind things. >!Im also a lesbian so theres that at play a bit as well!<

And if you want to get spicy, whos your least favourite character and why.

[Spoilers All] How much of the stuff that happened with Bayaz, Juvens and Kanedias was intentional on Bayaz's part? How much do you think is Bayaz screwing up and trying to salvage/cover it up?

Like did he set out to kill Juvens, Kanedias and Tolomei as a means of seizing power? Or was it just an escalating fear/need to cover up his other actions?

Bayaz is power hungry, and the deaths of Juvens and Kanedias basically left Bayaz as the most powerful figure in the world for at least a time. And meant what little oversight he once had was basically gone. Khalul likely only became an issue later when he had broken the 2nd Law and started building an army of Eaters. And he only seems to have fallen out with the remaining Magi later on.

But at the same time was he always so heartless? Juvens was his mentor, Tolomei his lover. Did he really set out to kill two demigods and his lover?

[DC/Marvel] Sauron can famously rewrite DNA on the fly but is only interested in turning people into Dinosaurs, are there any other absurdly powerful villains who use their power for childish/petty things?

As Spider-Man points out Sauron could cure cancer with that kind of ability, but uses it to create Dinosaurs. Even if Sauron wanted to use it for evil he could be far more effective than just making a Dino army. Like create an incurable virus or something.

Are there any reality warpers who only want to rob banks or something?

[Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss] Why do Sinners sell their souls?

Sinners are immortal outside of Angelic weaponry. They wont die of starvation or murder unless its an Angel weapon. What exactly do they gain out of it other than enslavement?

Can they break their deal with one Overlord and go join another if their deal isnt working out/as good?

What is the opinion of people like Doom, Reed Richards, Hank Pym, Tony Stark etc on whether Mutants are the next step in evolution? Do they agree or disagree?

[Marvel] How does the X-gene interact with Demigod, Alien, Inhuman, Deviant, Eternal, Gamma/mutate DNA?

There are a lot of different powered sub-species/hybrids among humans in Marvel, people who are half-alien, part Eternal/Deviant or Gamma mutates or children of Gamma mutates. Even Spidermans kids seem to inherit his powers.

How would that interact with a child who also has the X-gene?

[Marvel] Is there a greater point/impetus for the Multiversal cycle of rebirth and death?

So I know it originally began with the Celestials warring against the First Firmament and broken pieces becoming the 2nd Cosmos, but is there a reason why the cycle has repeated so often that there are 7 previous Multiverses? Is there some kind of greater point or reason for the Multiverse to be recreated and destroyed like this?

Or something moving it forward? Why is it still going on?

And a reason why the last survivor becomes a Galactus figure in the next multiverse?

What is the The One Above All doing with this?

[Spoilers C3] What are some major changes you can see happening in future seasons of the animated shows?

So its kind of impossible to adapt the campaigns 1:1 due to the limitations of the medium. And they've already changed things up in a few major ways for both LOVM seasons 1-3 and Mighty season 1. What are some other major changes you can see happening? For LOVM, M9 and a future BH show?

One I think is probably happening is the Dawnfather will be more of a dick than he was in campaign. More of a kind of stern authoritarian figure across all 3 animated shows.

[Marvel] Is it ever commented on how physically attractive basically all the X-Men are? Like do modelling agencies ever approach them for group photoshoots?

Like I know a lot of superhero groups have attractive members, but it seems the X-Men seem to have someone who appeals to almost every demographic in terms of attractiveness.

My understanding is that sometime after the Gods arrived they made a deal with the Primordials. Seemingly something like you can create and do your thing, but dont but give the mortals divine magic.

And the Archheart and the Primes were the ones who broke it?

So why are the Betrayers called the Betrayers then? Surely its the other way round? And why did the Primordials want to restrict mortals from accessing that?

Like how did they explain it to the public? Or more importantly the government officials and elites?

Surely every rich person would want V-One for the chance at immortality?

And how did Vought manage with supes that couldnt die or age out?

With lightning bending and metal bending its understandable those would spread as people like Toph and the Fire Nation royalty encourage/allow the teaching of those sub-bending disciplines.

But Hama invented bloodbending, Katara outlawed it and its pretty unlikely Katara taught it to anyone else. Hama was also old and imprisoned in the Fire Nation, its unlikely she got to teach anyone else (assuming she didnt die).

So how did Yakone end up learning it? Did he re-discover it independently?

Specifically his 9th level counterspell moment.

In the final arc, Scanlan has a sort internal dilemma going on due to Vax's fate/revenant state.

Scanlan has access to a Wish spell. Which he could theoretically use to save Vax after the Vecna fight. Although Matt made it clear Scanlan wouldnt have much time to save Vax so he would need to use it immediately after the Vecna fight latest. So he spends most of the Vecna fight saving his 9th level spell until hes forced to use it to prevent Vecna escaping.

But LOVM doesnt really 'show' counterspell per say. And Scanlan doesnt really have much in the way of higher power spellcasting unlike his campaign counterpart. He has some obviously, but hes not really shown doing half of what his campaign counterpart can do.

So how are they going to adapt it? Will they adapt it?

How would say the show versions of the characters compare to their campaign selves?

The Mighty Nein seem a lot more trusting of each other is a big one. Early Mighty Nein (particularly Caleb) were very touch and go with each other. I kind of wondered if the party would split during early C2.

Late to the party I know but I saw [this video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=obyFQ7XDaH8) of the cast doing draft picks recently on my feed and it got me thinking what is the strongest 3 man team you can make out of the 3 parties. No restrictions.

My picks:

  1. Keyleth: Probably the strongest PC across all 3 characters. Unlimited elemental wildshapes + Shapechange is pretty powerful.

  2. Scanlan Shorthalt: I know Caleb may have a better spell choice, but Scanlan's counterspell is pretty broken (Jack of all trades + inspire himself). And Scanlan has some pretty good spells as well.

  3. Yasha: So long as Scanlan shuts down any charm, sleep or other magic that could take her out of a fight she basically cant die.

Additionally what is the least optimal/funniest team?

u/Flyestgit — 23 days ago

As a reminder the guest PCs for Campaign 1 and the guest PCs for Campaign 2 although I would say in Campaign 1's case that given that we have only two seasons left and the series is now onto the Taryon and Whispered One arcs that guest PCs from earlier in the campaign who havent appeared already (Thorbir, Lyra, Kerrek) are unlikely to appear as the narrative beats associated with them are covered.

With Mighty Nein things are more open. We are still relatively early in the campaign's story. Given what was covered in season 1, Shakaste and Calianna are the only guest PCs who could potentially have featured.
