Is quantitative finance worth it ?

High everyone,

I am 18F from Algeria, just graduated from high school, and right now I facing a big dilemma about choosing the right field of study, the thing that interests me is quantitative finance but I am not very sure that it is the right choice. I have a couple of questions for those of you who work in or specialize in this field. I'm just looking to gain a better understanding of it and clarify a few things:

Is a quant the only job you can do in quantitative finance? Do you need a maths diploma in order to get into this domain ? Is it actually as stressful and high-demanding as the internet says it is ? What are the pros and cons of this career? For example is it highly paid ? Is it difficult to break into because of the competition and high standards ?

Please give me honest answers, any advice or guidance would be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance

What are the highest payed jobs ?

Next year I am going to college, and I don't know yet which field of study I want to specialize in. Financial growth is a primary priority for me, that is why I want to know what are most highly remunerative fields right now ?

I am open to any suggestions you guys have , and I would appreciate any guidance or advice you can share. Thanks in advance.
