Any chance the World Cup final will be screened at the food court tonight? Asking because there’s already a screening on the rooftop.

I was on a support call with Google Ads today, and the representative was from the US. During the conversation, he casually asked where in India I was from.

I said, "Kerala."

The moment he heard that, his tone completely changed.

He was like, "Oh damn, you're from Kerala? I absolutely love that place!"

For the next minute or two, he wasn't talking about Google Ads anymore. 😂

He told me he had visited Kerala around two years ago and was blown away by the experience. He kept talking about how much he loved the people, the food, the culture, the greenery, and how peaceful everything felt compared to many other places he'd been.

He said something along the lines of:

"The people were incredibly warm, the food was amazing, and there's just a certain calmness about Kerala that you don't find everywhere."

He also mentioned that he'd love to come back someday because he felt there was still so much more to explore.

As someone who lives here, it's easy to take these things for granted. But hearing a random guy from the other side of the world get genuinely excited just because I said "Kerala" was a pretty nice reminder of how special the place actually is.

Made me feel unexpectedly proud today.
