Lost a 30g Metal sandeel to the rocks 😔.

Had a seal surface right next to me, he looked a bit surprised. I looked a bit surprised then he went off.

A couple of bites (I think)

Tried to keep looking around and noticed a shag diving in the same waves I was casting into and catching small fish each time.

Overall 8/10 day

Location: South Landing (Flamborough)

Duration: 3 hours

Bites: 2 or 3

Rod: Honor Mifine 10-42g 2.7M

Leader: 17lb Seaguar invizx

Braid: 15lb J-Braid x8 Expedition

Reel: Shimano Stradic 4000MHG

Lures: Temu/AliExpress (Weedless, metal,Floaters)

Thanks to everyone who gave me great kit advice it all worked perfectly. The AliExpress Honor rod was fantastic It could reach about 60m with a 30g metal sandeel

I was most surprised that I didn't lose any gear and my knots held. I thought they would fail 😅

I couldn't get the hang of the FG knot so used double uni and had a short leader that wouldn't have to go through the tiny last eyelet

Mostly practicing casting and removing weeds from the gear it would pick up when it came back to shore.

Overall really fun and the most relaxed I have felt in months.

So looking at my first east coast bass/pollock setup. I like the idea of a very small travel size (maybe even take it on a multi day coast hike)

I understand the reel is expensive but I want very high quality do it all reel. I also love Shimano products

Is this rod a bad idea? Will I regret not getting a 9-10 foot two piece rod?
