Great Card but PC is not the same

So I got the RTX 5080 along with a new 1000w power supply about a week ago. My games run much better and I have a more enjoyable experience when they actually work.

After I changed my graphics card my pc just does not work the same. Crashes on Tarkov that never happened with my other graphics card in started happening. Now when I try to play He’ll Let Loose Vietnam, my computer will either entirely crash out of nowhere or the game will crash when trying to join a server. Same thing with Squad. When I try to join a server, as it’s loading in, the game just crashes. I don’t know what’s going on but at this point in time I wasted my money.

UPDATE: Ran a DDU and seems to be working fine so far. Will let you know if something happens.

UPDATE 2: I notice my CPU jumping to 100C when trying to load in the servers then the game shuts down. Could upgrading from a 4070 to 5080 make my cpu run hotter?

Late night panic bc of Bulbar Onset

I told myself I’d be able to get through this but my terrible annoying habit of googling got me into a panic attack again.

I thought I was on my way to putting the twitching worry behind me but I noticed I would have some food on the back of my tongue after my first swallow. I googled if this was normal and ofc it said it could be a nerve issue. Then i feel like it all connected with my throat. For many months now, maybe even almost a year, the back of the my throat is not symmetrical. I noticed it after getting strep throat infection so i chalked it up to that and never thought of it. But now i also realize my uvula is ever so slightly not down the middle. I google this and it’s of course a hallmark sign of bulbar onset ALS. I’ve had a feeling of mucus in my throat for a long time but chalked that up GERD. But now I’ve realized it’s all connected with the start of the twitches from 2 months ago. I am now 1000% convinced I have this and I’m afraid I can’t take this anymore. Too many things have added up by now and my anxiety and panic and mental health has gotten the best of me.

Man I even tried started therapy this week and now I

5080 usage

Hi, so i just posted a few hours ago about just getting my 5080. It seems great so far, haven't been really to try it in graphically intense games but I just tried testing it out on Squad. I was on all epic settings, DLAA frame gen and reaching around 180fps which is more than fine for me. However I noticed my GPU only going to 76% usage on task manager. Should I be getting more out of it? My specs:

i7 13700k
GIGABYTE RTX 5080
32GB DDR5 ram
1440P OLED 240HZ monitor

I mean as long as I'm getting the frames I want it should be fine but will I be cooked on graphically intense games like say cyberpunk?

Edit: NVIDIA says 97% usage and task manager says 57% usage. Which one is more accurate?

Therapy for anxiety?

I’m sure as we know for the people who post in here and read some of these stories, a lot of us have severe health anxiety (not to say people don’t have legitimate concerns). I’ve always had health anxiety from since I was a teen. Im 26 now. This episode of anxiety I have had for the past few months because of the constant body wide twitches has been detrimental to my quality of life.

Has anyone decided to seek out mental health assistance and did it actually help and get rid of symptoms?

Anyone good health anxiety therapists in NYC?

4070 to 5080. Thinking about 4k monitor. Is the build good enough ?

Hi so my current build is as follows:
CPU - i7 13700k
GPU - ASUS DUAL OC RTX 4070
32gb ddr5 ram
ASUS z790 prime motherboard
Acer 1440p 144hz

I’m looking to upgrade from my 4070 to a 5080 because I’d rather just lock in a good graphics card for the next few years since prices are going up again. I’m also thinking of getting my first 4k monitor so I can get my moneys worth out of 5080.

I was wondering if you think I’ll run into any trouble with bottlenecks or anything running 4k with the CPU I currently have? I’m not that great with the technical aspects of pc parts but I love gaming and I’ll be playing anything from single player games like cyberpunk, red dead, crimson desert to competitive shooters like CS to games like BF6.

Any advice is appreciated.

NFL And CK test update

So I posted in here a few days ago about the results of my CK blood test being mildly high. I went to a neuro after about 2 months of body wide twitching and some other perceived symptoms, where he did an exam on me checking strength and reflexes. He said in his opinion he doesnt look like I have ALS but well do blood work and EMG anyway to be sure.

My CK levels came back mildly high at 268 and I of course started to freak out irrationally as I had worked out a few days prior and did a long walk before my appointment. He messaged me saying it’s likely due to exercise and we’ll recheck in a week after no gym.

Then today my NFL results came back. I was absolutely terrified to open it because I had a feeling it was going to come back high but it didn’t. It was at a 4.6 with an 11.8 limit. He message me immediacy saying normal NFL range is very reassuring I don’t have ALS.

I still have twitches and other symptoms I worry about and probably make up in my head because I’m so focused on my body now like my tongue being slightly not center, a heel drag here and there when walking, a chest muscle not being the exact same size, random pains etc. but until my EMG in December I really need to acknowledge that I 99.9% don’t have ALS. This cycle I have been in the last few months is the most unhealthy thing I’ve done to myself. I can’t enjoy my life and focus on the good things in this mindset. I hope to update you guys when I’m mentally well and free from this irrational fear.

Creatine Kinase Levels

26 male

Hi, I’ve been having muscle twitches for about a month and a half now so I decided to see a neurologist. It started in my right left muscle for about 3 days or a week then started getting little twitches all over my body. I don’t have any clinical weakness as of now but I feel like I’ve noticed more things since I’ve fixated and worried about it more. I’ll notice my heel drag on some steps when walking, some aching pains that come and go, and other little things.

The neurologist did a whole exam and said he thinks I don’t have ALS and that I’m pretty strong but we’ll do tests anyway just to see everything. He ordered an EMG in December and did some blood work including NFL and CK test. I had the CK test done a few weeks ago with my regular doctor and it was normal at 176. I just got the result for CK today and it was 276 which is elevated and out of range. I was sore from a workout two days ago and I took a walk (40 minutes) to the neurologist before they took my blood.

I’ve read that slightly elevated CK levels are normal in ALS patients and I’m freaking out as of now. I told myself I’d see a therapist for my anxiety when everything comes back normal but now I’m deep in the hole again.

Have you guys had elevated CK levels?

Overcoming thoughts

I’ve been having twitches all over my body for the last month or so. I’ve had blood work done and everything came back fine except low vitamin D and I of course have been in a spiral about the worst things happening to me.

I know I have to try and reframe my thoughts to say that is incredibly rare to have a *** or motor neuron disease but I can’t help but always circle back to, “what if I’m the unlucky one”. Everyone says 2 out of 100,000 get a disease especially someone as young as me (26) but doesn’t there have to be an unlucky one? Someone has to have the worst news imaginable, so why not me?
