📝🇭🇷 Several rule changes from this year's World Cup have also been introduced in the SuperSport HNL ahead of the new season to increase active playing time and reduce time-wasting:

• Injured outfield players treated on the pitch must stay off for 1 minute of active play (with exceptions for goalkeeper injuries, serious injuries, accidental teammate clashes or fouls that lead to a yellow/red).

• Substituted players have 10 seconds to leave the pitch, or their replacement must wait until the next stoppage after 1 minute of active play.

• Referees can begin a visible 5-second countdown for delayed throw-ins, with possession awarded to the opposition if the time expires.

• Every stadium must now have 10 match balls placed in fixed positions around the pitch.

• Grass height is capped at 30 mm, with standardised mowing patterns and regulated watering procedures.

• The league switches to Hawk-Eye VAR with SMART Replay for faster reviews.

Hoffenheim sign Croatian wonderkid Jakov Dedić for 850k Euro - hnl_legends

Bundesliga side Hoffenheim have officially completed the signing of highly rated Croatian striker Jakov Dedić from Osijek. The 16 year old forward, who caught widespread attention with a hat-trick against Spain at the UEFA U17 European Championship, joins the German club for an initial fee of €850,000 plus bonuses.

Osijek will receive compensation but missed the opportunity to negotiate a significantly higher transfer fee because Dedić was only under a scholarship contract set to expire next summer. After completing his medical and bidding farewell to his teammates, the youngster officially became a Hoffenheim player and will begin his development with the club’s U23 team.

Hoffenheim’s sporting director Frank Kramer described Dedić as an ideal fit for the club, highlighting his athleticism, technical ability, physical presence, and enormous long-term potential.
