Warning regarding Group Buys

FYI please be careful not to join or trust Shiella. While buyers in this group might be fine the person that is the moderator is very dangerous. She will threaten to doxx and expose your personal information. She has done that with me and I suspect she may do that on this post, but I needed to warn others before they put themselves at risk.

Tina: anyone else use her?

Has anyone had similar issues with Tina? She was highly recommended by someone on here who DMed me the info after posting the c26 vanity bag. Then after I was ready to submit payment it was from $330 to $370 per Tina because of the size. She said they have it in stock at the factory. I make payment. Then she says they just ran out and won’t have anything for 10 days. I requested a refund but she apparently doesn’t have about money in her PayPal account. What?!?

Moral grandstanding by people who say people deserve to be scammed

After a recent post about being scammed by someone who sold a non leather bag as a rehome a few people wrote you’re involved in crime. Expect this.
The moral grandstanding is absurd.
They are also obviously part of the rep world too, but their cynical wisdom makes them superior?
Blaming the victim of a scam means they think anyone buying a rep forfeits the right to basic fairness or community sympathy?
It shuts down any attempt to discuss community building.
Thoughts?

Is there a process to call out professional scam sellers on here?

I purchased a BV Lauren rep from someone for $245 plus shipping. It was fake leather. I then saw this person posts a lot and I think they are a professional scam seller and post BVs often. Is this allowed in this community? If not how does one call them out to prevent others from being scammed? I have thought maybe I’ll gift the fake bag for just the cost of shipping and call out the seller but not sure if that would be ok.

Just purchased on Poshmark

Poshmark will authenticate it but wondering if you think right off the bat it’s legit or not? Let’s see how good their authentication process is…..

DIY DIP Advice

Hi all!
After three years of salon dip nails getting pressured into gel topcoat (which I don’t like as it’s too thick, starts to tear at the tips, and exposes to UV), I’m finally getting to the place of wanting to go my own. TBH the biggest push for me is being bullied at the salon that what I want is too boring and none of the other customers complain about gel topcoat. I’d like to feel welcome and not like I’m in 6th grade when paying $78 for nail. Would love advice from others who do it at home or have picked up steps at the salon.

Step1: use a rough file or efile to remove the top coat.
2: in a bowl put hot water. Then take a sandwich bag of acetone and a paper towel cut into a small piece. Rub the nails against the paper towel until the dip has removed. Can take up to 5 minutes. The hot water is to warm up the acetone.
3. Cut and buff nails to desired size. Should this be step 2?
4. Clean off with acetone imbedded paper towel.
5. Apply prep coat (is this just acetone? Necessary)
6. Apply base coat.
7. Use a clear or white dip?
8. Repeat base coat and dip 2-3 times in desired color.
9. Fix with cyanoacrylate
10. File down fine and without bumps.
11. Wipe with acetone imbedded
12. Dry for 5 minutes
13. Apply dip top coat
14. Wait 5 minutes and apply last dip top coat.

Would love your thoughts and advice on brands

Thoughts after seeing authentic Bottega, Loewe, and Chanel

I’m in NYC for a few days and thought it would be a great opportunity to check out authentic bags that I would normally never buy due to cost but have purchased due to newly being introduced to reps. As a background I have authentic Ferragamo, Tod’s, Burberry, LV, Gucci, and Givenchy.
Never purchased authentic BV, LoLo, or Chained. Bottega Veneta Lauren and Madison were super soft. The Lauren is heavy compared to the Madison. Having purchased rep Andiamo clutch from TS and Lauren from someone selling on here it’s obvious what I purchased for 245 that was supposedly Jing is fake leather and low quality. The Andiamo clutch is decent but not super soft. I am thinking of buying a Madison rep from a TS for 600 but am not sure how far off it will be from authentic.
Loewe was surprisingly light and soft. I tried the flamenco in large and loved it. Seems less challenging to rep but I wonder how lightweight the rep will be.
Chanel seemed the easiest to rep. IMO having held chanel many times I think the quality doesn’t live up to the price tag.
Would love others thoughts, suggestions, and insights. Thanks!

BV Madison Recs

Anyone know the best high tier seller who may have this bag? Color is Ecru-Muse with brass. Looks buttery soft and practical too. Thank you!

Steps in getting a quality rep:

New to this market and would love your advice on steps not to get scammed.

  1. I sourced WhatsApp numbers from this site for sellers and messaged them.
  2. sellers sent me photos and price.
One seller sent me a link to a catalog.
  3. I asked about payment, shipping and timing. Also tried to negotiate cost down but was given a $20 discount on a $600 price.
  4. seller wants payment via PayPal pay by friend or family and nothing in note.

Any other steps to add? Is it normal to send payment like this? What else to prevent getting scammed.
Thanks for your advice!
