Does anyone else hate the air bender suffocation?
I don’t mean on its own I just fucking despise how the fans overhype it. It was used twice, against opponents who could at the time not fight back, only one of which was successful and inefficiently slow. So I don’t get why it’s hyped up as some overpowered bullshit. And I despise the narrative the fanbase has created from it, that revolves around how “imagine if the air nomads were not peaceful” type shit. In fact any other bender has far more effective ways to kill, engulfing someone in fire is far faster, crushing them between two blocks of stone is faster, piercing their chest with an icicle is faster. And the idea that “oh they chose to be peaceful” has to be the worst bit of world holding I have ever heard and that’s with some serious competition, for starters that’s now how pacifist societies work, but furthermore it goes against everything else in the series. Now i I don’t care if it’s explained in the books.
