Heard a future felon talk about mounting a green laser to an autonomous drone he’s building that has flock locations uploaded 😡

I told him he’s a bad American for doing this! It could hit several dozen locations a day in a completely autonomous way before needing refueling.

I hope he thinks twice about building and uploading the specs of this relatively cheap drone to GitHub.

Day 5 of Seton placement and no pain?

Aside from some mild aching when I have a bm, and general soreness around the area, my pain is like a 1/10. Especially on 5mg of oxy that I take an hour before each bm (don’t worry I take stool softeners, Metamucil, etc… and I only take the oxy before the bm.)

Drainage is pretty consistent and I go through 2-3 abdominal pads a day, but other than that…

Is this normal? Reading this forum I expected the pain to be absolutely insane. Am I just lucky or am I still in the post op anesthesia glow period where my system isn’t processing pain properly?

Getting colonoscopy and two setons in tomorrow. Could use some words of encouragement!

One seton is for sure, the other might go into a healed fibrotic sinus tract - crs will determine if it’s necessary when he’s in there.

Also getting a colonoscopy to determine if there’s a root cause.

What can I expect in terms of pain? Any advice? How long before I can start painting again?

Reese’s mini pumpkins 2025 vs 2026 shrinkflation 😮‍💨

And it was $1.5 more expensive. And now chocolate candy instead of milk chocolate. It was horrendous.

36m. This spot showed up on my forehead a few months ago. I “noticed” it for the first time this past week, where before I hadn’t noticed it.

I have an appointment this upcoming Monday with a dermatologist, but I just want to see what other opinions people might have

Abscess drained 5 weeks ago, yellow foul smelling mucus still coming from my BH - do I have a fistula?

5 weeks ago I had my abscess drained. It healed really well and two mondays ago the doc said the incision site had completely healed, and I’ve had no paid or other symptoms other than a granulation/proud flesh where the incision was being irritated when I walk or sit too much.

However, I noticed that while the incision has stopped draining, I have a persistent slow yellow foul smelling mucus that comes from my bootyhole that I have to wipe/clean throughout the day. I’m 90% sure it’s coming from my bootyhole and not the granulation.

Is this mucus something normal being produced by my anal glands in response to the surgery, or do I have a fistula draining in my bootyhole canal/through my anal glands?

Like I said, no other symptoms and nothing that resembles what the original abscess felt like. No pain, no pressure building, normal bowel movements, etc… everything is normal except for the granulation and mucus.

In about 2 weeks I go in for my mri to check for the fistula, but I wanted to set my expectations ahead of that.

Pea sized lump showed up overnight near incision 3 weeks post drainage, what is it?

3 weeks ago to the day, I went into the er because I had a fever and what I thought was an infected hemorrhoid. Ended up being a perianal abscess, which was drained by the head of CRS at my hospital within a few hours. There was no fistula opening and the surgeon said that while they suspected a fistula was present, he couldn’t find it during surgery and that I would have to come back in 6 weeks to take an mri to find it.

Healing since then has been great and my drainage is down to maybe 5% what it was at the beginning.

Last night I woke up at like 3am from pain that was very similar to the aching from the original abscess, and was triggered by the same movements. I rushed to the bathroom and very gently (after washing my hands) with a wet wipe felt around the area to try and trigger the aching.

The aching actually immediately went away and I went back to sleep.

I had a bowel movement this morning and it was a little achy (maybe like 1% of the original ache), but when I went into the shower and I washed down there I felt a pea sized ball right on the anal gland just below the original incision.

It was kind of mushy and barely hurt when I gently pressed on/around it.

Beyond that I have no other pain and can move around normally.

Is this a fistula tract opening? My original incision is still draining a little bit so I’m confused. Coupled with the aching from last night and the fact that the lump appeared overnight, I’m more than a little worried.

10cmx10cm Perianal abscess drained two days ago. Walk me through the recovery process please.

36m, first time this has happened.

So last Tuesday (19th) I felt what was like a hemorrhoid that progressively got worse until on Thursday (21st) it was getting more swollen and I got a fever, I went into the ER.

After some fingers my in my butt, the docs decided to take blood and do a ct scan. Ct scan showed a 2cmx3cm abscess and the ER docs tried to do a bedside drain but couldn’t get any pus out (couldn’t get it to fluctuate).

They were going to send me home with oral antibiotics but I was like “no I want to stay a day and get iv antibiotics” and they were like okay. 3 hours later the head of colorectal surgery came down and said I was immediately going to go to surgery.

They end up finding that the abscess is 10cm by 10cm. They said there was a possibility they were going to put in a seton during the surgery, but the doctor decided not to.

They drain it, and then I stay in the hospital for another day and they send me home. Not before changing my packing which was the worst pain I’ve ever been in.

No pain other than some basic soreness. They want me to take 5mg of oxy every four hours but that seems like overkill and I’m only taking extra strength Tylenol.

Biggest issue is trusting a fart and not going to the bathroom because I have to shower every time (they said I don’t have to change the packing every time I have a bowel movement, but that I should shower).

Nurse visits my home yesterday and changes the packing and it was actually fine. If the first packing change was a 10/10 on the pain scale, this was a 3/10.

Nurse says the depth on the first incision done in the ER is zero, and the main incision is at a depth of 4cm.

I have two more days of at home visits and repacking. This upcoming Friday I go check in with the doctor, where he will check the wound and determine how soon I should come in to check for a fistula.

Here’s my question: what can I expect long term recovery to be? I know it’s a 50/50 chance this turns into a fistula. But it seems like the figure is actually closer to 100% from what I’ve seen.

I’m okay with the pain, I’m okay with the embarrassment of people seeing my bootyhole. What I’m afraid of is if this will turn into a multi year long debilitating condition. Will I ever be able to sit properly again? Will I have to wear a diaper to my wedding next year in October? Things like this.

Has anyone fully recovered?
