Lighting wasnt perfect. But did get a close look at the Painted bunting at Dix field.

Go before 7:30 AM or after 7 pm, due to the ongoing heat wave

Lot of drama this week as the brush pile which was a good habitat at Dix field for all the birds was ground to mulch , apparently due to fire concerns.

Looks like birds are adapting, I clicked this Indigo bunting fairly close as they perched of the available small bush cover.

It was quite a blast in 2021 when couple of Roseated spoonbills hung around Lake crabtree. Not satisfied with taking a pic from the walkway bridge, I went on a kayak (Post covid, everyone had a kayak) with my son and got to eye level to click this shot.
