PS5 - before 2.0 and after comparison

Took a few screenshots before the 2.0 update, and then afterwards. This is a basic PS5, not a Pro.

Fixing lighting inside closed environments is HUGE, probably the most significant improvement in 2.0. Also you can finally see outside the windows, instead of that overexposed bright mess.

Quality mode remains the same. Pretty low FPS and unplayable for me personally, same as before.

Here and there some texture pop-in since there is way more foliage to load now vs before but nothing critical. Overall a very solid upgrade that enhanced the experience dramatically.

Also i don't understand why there is so much whining about the 100m AI bubble. You can barely see 50m ahead of you with all that greenery 😂

Concrete embrace in new Cost of Hope gameplay

Patch 2.1 - Fixed bug where bodies don’t clip through ceilings /s

PG32UCWM vs AW3926QW

Both are glossy RGB‑stripe tandem WOLEDs with basically the same PPI.

Dell is coming in around $1100, while ASUS is apparently aiming for $1400 (my wallet screamed).

5K2K will hit the GPU harder but the immersion is real. Anyone else stuck choosing between these two? I’m leaning Dell since I mostly play single‑player story games and the value is way better… but ASUS isn’t exactly a slouch either. That stand though ....💀 It looks like it was designed at 4:59pm on Friday 😂

Standard to Ultimate on discount > paying separately for Cost of Hope

Pulled the trigger while on discount.

Cost of Hope will probably be priced around $25. So for an extra ten bucks you basically can get yourself a season pass with access to all future expansions, some bonus cosmetics, and the right to pretend you made a financially responsible decision 😅

5.99 for a full remake. I’ve paid more for a bad coffee

I’m returning to PC gaming after years away, saw Dead Space for $6, and figured “sure, why not". Never played the franchise, no idea what I’m in for, but the price said yes 😂 Steam summer sale event prices are absolutely WILDDD.

Edit: Now I’m just wondering how this thing is going to look on a 4K OLED monitor. If this game doesn’t show me true blacks, nothing will I guess.

32GX850A-B for $669

Is this as good as it gets for a brand‑new 4K WOLED panel price wise? I’m on the fence. Trying to decide whether to grab the 32GX850A now (3rd‑gen WOLED) or wait for the 4th‑gen tandem WOLED version.

Any owners here — are you happy with it?

$3.99 on Steam is a wild deal

I just watched few gameplay videos and the amount of destruction and gore is unbelievable 😂 Graphics do not look bad at all. I guess I will try it out, it's basically a free game.

Edit: I have rtx5090. Should I just brute force everything on epic with DLAA or DLSS Quality? 4K 240hz monitor

My wife is obsessed with hydrangeas

What do you guys think? She says those are the best in entire town 😅

She does not know I made a post. Will share with her later.

Edit: wow, didn't expect so many kind words. Thanks everyone.

Wife said - that frost blanket when temperatures went down to 31-32F in April during few nights (we live in Maryland) did a trick 😂 Plus watering and some fertilizer when they start budding.

32GX850A vs XG32UCWG as temporary 32" 4K OLED panel

I’m basically looking for a $600-700 32" 4K OLED as a temporary monitor until the RGB‑stripe WOLED panels start rolling out. I don’t want to pay extra for 240Hz, since the games I’m planning won’t hit those frame rates anyway for the most part.

I’d rather save the bigger spend for the “end‑game” OLED. Thinking about AW3926QW down the road.

Both options are the same gen glossy WOLEDs, so the real difference comes down to the manufacturer pretty much and reselling value.

ASUS: $650 with a $50 B&H coupon

LG: $669 through the partner store

Which one would you choose?

Edit: and honestly it's nice to see some decent 4K 32" OLED panels in the $600-700 range. A few years back it was just a dream

Getting back into PC gaming after almost 20 years break

Pretty much what the title says — after gathering parts for a year finally built a PC after twenty years away from it.

Grabbed a bunch of games during the Steam summer sale event and now I’m deciding what to start with. Big fan of the original STALKER shadow of chornobyl. Last Of Us part 1 and Part 2 are the only games I completed on console over the last 5 years 😂 Fell in love as well. Started RDR2 on console while back as well, but barely progressed. Loved the game too

Thinking Stalker 2 or Cyberpunk first? Any other game recommendations not on this list are welcome too.

My time is limited with work and kids, so I’m looking for something that hits hard right from the start - story and graphics. 9800x3d / rtx5090 configuration if that matters.

Edit: just for fun. Original PC that was built 23 years ago was AMD Athlon XP 2800+ (Barton), sh*itty Radeon 9600 SE series with 64-bit memory bus (cut off version) and 512gb of ram. So I decided to splurge a bit this time 😂

Standard to Ultimate - no 30% discount

This does not make any sense. If you are going to discount entire game, then discount upgrade paths as well. I was going to get Standard to Ultimate for 30% off for upcoming DLC, but not paying a full price now just because of the principle.

75% off on Steam

I absolutely love the Steam summer sale. Pretty much a free game.

Are graphics on PC much better when fully maxed out vs PS5 besides significantly higher frame rate of course? I built a 5090 rig while back before price skyrocketed, but barely have time to play at the moment. Thinking I'm gonna grab this sale for the future even though I progressed 30% on PS5. Thoughts?

Used - Like New XG32UCWMG for $640. Yay or nay?

Want to try this WOLED panel. Good buy for $640 for used - like new? In addition you get 7% back for no-rush delivery with visa prime.

27" 4K G80SH for ~ $700 plus free Buds4 Pro is pretty wild deal

Wanted a 4K OLED and the G80SH deal sealed it. Corporate/edu discount + free Buds4 Pro = about $500 in added value. Way better than the 2025 G81SF since that one doesn’t include freebies.

Would have loved to grab 27" 4K RGB stripe woled but those are not available yet from Asus, plus price is probably gonna be close to $1K.

Samsung gives you a free G7 G70D when you get 32" 4k OLED M90SF

This is a wild deal. Thought I'd share if anyone is looking for 4k OLED with smart features. Must have edu / epp account to qualify for $899 price for M90SF otherwise $1599.

$300 for 360hz QHD OLED panel

Samsung did let me stack multiple deals together - instant savings, workplace discount and bundle discount. I could not say no. Essentially $300 with points included.

Edit: if you have edu / employer discount with Samsung, it should cost you $400 (plus points) without any bundle. Still AMAZING deal for this type of panel. They currently go for $700 at Best Buy / Microcenter. And before you start hating on Samsung, this particular panel scored 9.2 on rtings. 360hz should be more than enough for 99% of folks out there for years to come.

Samsung 27" 4k 4th gen QD OLED panel for $700

G81SF for ~$700 is probably one of the best deals out there if you are looking for a 4k OLED panel. There is plenty of hate on Samsung out there but their rewards program is unmatched. You get a massive discount for EPP / student account(s), plus on top they are giving you almost $90 back in points for platinum level (or less for lower tier) since this is Samsung week at the moment. The closest competition from MSI, Asus will cost you $900-1000.

Everything looks so "shiny" and glossy after 8.5 dropped

Am I the only one who strongly dislikes 8.5 UI changes? I feel like the contrast was increased and in dark mode it creates blacks that look unnatural. Since contrast is higher I feel like there is some type of "shine" or "gloss" applied to all UI elements. It looks absolutely ugly and unnatural imo.

Edit: also what's up with that overly dark background for notifications when quick panel is expanded. They overdid it big time there too.

Samsung’s 4th‑Gen penta‑tandem QD‑OLED panels drop on May 19th

Samsung gets plenty of hate here, but their EPP / first responder deals are honestly unmatched. If I can land a 4th‑gen QD‑OLED 27" or 32" 4K for $750–800 (including the $50 reservation credit), I’m smashing that buy button so hard..

If you’ve got Samsung EPP or student access, keep an eye on May 19th. No need to drop $1100-1200 on a PG32UCDM3 when it’s essentially the same panel wearing Asus hoodie with gloss.

Fully prepared for the ASUS glossy fanboy brigade to downvote me into dust for this post 😂

Stay patient, grasshoppers

I absolutely love the idea of a 39" 5K2K OLED, but there’s no timeline where I’m handing over even $1,457.99 for the 39GX950B.

Yeah yeah, the screenshot is from the partner store, but still…

Call me delusional, but give it a few months and this majestic OLED slab is gonna slide into the $1200–1300 zone. And if not, the holiday sales will finish the job.

Stay patient, young grasshoppers — the OLED gods reward those who wait.

Edit: to clarify, currently via LG partner store you get a regular 10% discount (first responders, nurses, military) and extra 10% via MEMORIAL10 promo code. It's not a bad deal honestly if you need a monitor now.
