The trend of legacy punk bands using AI is really disappointing. Artists like Devo and the Descendents have used a lot of AI in their gig posters, but the worst offenders have to be the dead boys and sublime who have both used generative AI in their new releases. The dead boys used AI create “new” vocal tracks that sounded like their deceased singer stiv bators . Sublime isn’t using an AI Bradley voice, but they have extensively used ai to write the new material on their forthcoming record . You can actually tell which original sublime songs the ai pulled from to generate the new ones because there are so few to train the data on.
