I’m playing an expansion draft franchise mode as the Halifax Highlanders in NHL 19. We’re hovering at the top of the standings, and I’ve traded away most of my first 2 draft classes, but I’ve amassed what should end up as 3 top-10 picks in this draft class (the Leafs traded their 1st for Hickey, which looks like a top 4 pick lol), Landeskog, and Josh Morrissey.

Ottawa and Buffalo are the worst 2 teams in the league, and I noticed that Ryan O’Rielly and Matt Duchene recently had their overall ratings crater to 81 and 79 respectively. Additionally, I saw notes in the news feed that say both players have requested a trade from their respective teams.

How does trading for one of these players work? Do their current teams accept lower compensation considering they requested a trade? If I do trade for one of them (maybe using Boston’s 1st rounder which is hovering around 10-12 overall), how quick/difficult is it to get them to regain their original ratings? It appears that the visual “trade value” bar remains unchanged for these players despite the lower ratings.

My top line is Landeskog/Stastny/Svechnikov (who’s top scorer in the league) right now, but I’m expecting a huge dropoff for Stastny after this year and another top line center heading into the playoffs would be great.

I just tried to recapture my youth by downloading NHL 2004 from Abandonware. I’ve been able to get the game up and running in Windows 11, but it crashes whenever I try to start a Dynasty. Any recommendations on how to fix it from here?

I’ve played various EA NHL games from ‘99 through 2019, and I’ve always found that the goaltender ratings didn’t really have an impact on their in-game performance. Regardless of how good the goalies ratings were, they’d let in 3 goals on 9 shots (or something similar), so I thought my best course of action in franchise mode was to trade my star goalie for good players and roll with a fringe starter (or worse) between the pipes. I will say that I found that the goaltenders ratings on CPU controlled team did seem to have an impact on gameplay (the worse the goalie, the easier it was to score).

How much does your team’s goaltender ratings actually have on game play?

I have a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 that I use for demo recording at home. I am currently trying to get a work-focused podcast off the ground and I am trying to figure out if it’s possible to use the 2i2 to record my audio to one channel in Ableton Live Lite 10 while I record a 2nd channel of audio from my guest over MS Teams. Does anyone have experience doing this, or is this a completely ridiculous concept?

Beast “The Frank” Mortos IS a lawyer so he should be able to figure this out. Maybe he should’ve specialized in immigration law. TK should send him back to school to make him AEW’s in-house legal council for their international wrestlers.

With the news yesterday of Paramount potential willing to negotiate to bring AEW on Board I drew up a few scenarios for media rights deals for both sides. I wanna know what you guys think.

Real post in the basement. This is some crazy projection and Meltzer math right here. What does one have to take to get this delusional, and where can I find it?

With the closing of Beer Stores around me, I’ve started buying more Ontario craft beer at the grocery stores (I’m in the north GTA). Last week, the beers I like (Beau’s Barnburner among others) averaged around $3.50 per can, now this morning I went to the grocery store and found that all the prices were jacked up by around 20%. Did something happen within the Ontario craft beer market that led to a blanket 20% price hike across the board?

Appreciate any feedback I can get - I’m pretty distraught over this.

Whatever happened to the YouTube clip covering Jon Moxley vs. Brodie Lee for the AEW Heavyweight championship?

I’ll often go back to my favourite snippets from the Express or the Drive Thru, but I can’t find this one on YouTube anymore. Does it have to do with Brodie Lee’s unexpected passing?

One of my favourite lines that came out of it (and I’ve used to describe other people since) was something along the lines of “not only does Brodie Lee lack charisma, but his presence nullifies the charisma of his opponents”.
