Part of the Shoot

Took the DD V7P (m lok mk18) out with the new Tisha 556 today - Wow!!!

Amazing sound suppression, next world gas management, and incredible form factor.

But how could I leave my favorite guns at home?!?!

Here are my ZF5 and ZF5T - Milkman and Mob respectively. 90 lp full sized and 70 lp on the k. Using HSL 147 which runs great, soft, and quiet.

The mp5k was my intro to the platform, but I’m really falling in love with how smooth and easy and slow the full-sized is to shoot!

Again, the full uses ASD ARC trigger and their mp5 hammer with JP rifles enhanced reliability spring kit. Not quite as good as my other Geissele’s, but I’ll gladly take 790 rpm vs 900 with a G$ in the full.

Enjoy!

NFA Post; While I Still Can!!!

Who knows, by tomorrow this post may contain zero NFA items!!!

These are the first shots with my Tisha 556 in 718. Previously an AlleyCat 5.56 RDM lived on this host, and that’s a great suppressor.

The Tisha doesn’t sound night and day better than the AC, but it does at least 3 things better.

The T does offer superior sound suppression, with NOTABLY better gas management. And the AC had always seemed much to have much lower gas blowback than a conventional can.

The other notable improvement with the Tisha is that this V7P feels like a small gun again. The improved form factor from shaving off 2 inches is massive with a 10.3” sbr.

And it does those thing while offering slightly better suppression than the fantastic AC 556 RDM.

Also included are an mp5 (milkma) and mp5k (Mob) because cyclic sub 9mm is ridiculously fun!

Who knows, maybe the mods won’t have to be bothered by my posts anymore if this stuff stops being NFA!!

Tisha 5.56 718

After u/BlueJay-- ‘s review a week ago, I finally bought a 718 SAW Tisha in 556. East Valley Tactical had the can here and through the hopefully soon to be unconstitutional nfa process in 10 total days.

I’ve loved my AlleyCat 5.56 on my DDV7P for about a year now. But the Pew Science report and various reviews had me itching for a 718 Tisha.

After reading about the outstanding performance of the Tisha compared to the Super Thug on a 10.5” rifle, I was sold.

This can will see heavy cyclic fire duty, and I will share videos.

To mounting - currently this is the direct threat mount included with the can to save on both weight and complexity. Though I also have an AI 556 nano and TSF X I could use with this setup.

Anyone care to talk me OUT of direct thread? Am I liable to carbon lock with a machine gun type firing schedule?

Anyway, enjoy a few pictures.

Pictures, and Question

Here are some pictures of my favorite 556 gun with a demo Hub can until my Tisha arrives soon.

This setup is an AI nano with TSF X hub adapter. But I’m thinking about direct thread to save on weight.

Anyone have good experience with DT and heavy use 556 sbr guns? SAW warned me to be wary of carbon locking if I go this route.

I Forget About This

In the heat of the moment, it’s never occurred to me to shoot the Mob RU3 on the full-sized gun. I get too excited about the various strings of fire that I forget I can swap this can from my mp5k.

I’ll try to remember to shoot the full gun with the Mobster Saturday to see how it compares to the Milkman.

The entire package of mp5 + Milkman just seems so perfect with the size and performance.

Anyway, here’s some pics.

(Mp5k with Milkman is an old pic just for funsies - the Milkie is great with the full but just not up to suppressing the K gun)

Some Highlights

Hello, r/mp5!!

Went shooting today, figured I'd share some flawless cyclic fire strings with you. Plenty more shooting was done than just this, but here's the fun stuff.

ZF5 full-sized with Milkman, ZF5T and MAC5K mp5k's with their own CAT Mobs. 90, 70, and 80 degree locking pieces respectively.

All of my AR's and mp5's have Geissele triggers, except the full-sized mp5. I've used a G$ SSP in the full with the hammer unjammer, but that pushes the fire rate over 900 rpm. I'm currently using an ASD mp5 hammer, ASD ARC V2 trigger, and JP rifles enhanced reliability spring kit on the ZF5.

ROF: ZF5 790 to 810, ZF5T 985, and the very well broken-in MAC5K is at 945.

ASD lowers for the K's and a Polymer Pew metal lower for the full. All 3 use ARC V2 45-90 frt's.

Just a great day!!

And Another One

Here is my freshly minted ZF5 SBR, along with my ZF5T and MAC5K.

The AC Unity stock is AWESOME on the full-sized, while the Choate feels best to me on both K’s.

CAT Mob’s reside on each K - QD on ZF5T and RU3 Hub on MAC5K.

90 LP on the full-size, 80 LP on MAC5K, 70 LP on ZF5T.

I’ve switched out to ASD trigger and mp5 hammer for the full-sized with JP rifles enhanced reliability spring set. This reduces ROF to 780-790 compared to over 900 rpm with a Geissele single stage precision.

Both K’s run G$ SSP’s with the McMaster Carr shim for ARC V2’s. 980 rpm for the newer ZF5T and 950 rpm for the very broken-in MAC5K.

Anyway - enjoy my latest!

Latest SBR

ZF-5T - threaded barrel and no tri-lug for my QD CAT Mob.

Not the current clothes - latest aesthetic is MI suppressor handguard with Choate folding stock.

Currently using the AI 9mm nano muzzle brake and 70 degree lp from JP rifles, as well as an RCM standard bolt head.

I shoot exclusively suppressed subs; fire rate on this ZF5T is around 980 rpm after a little over 2000 rounds.

My MAC 5K with Cat Mob on RU3 and an 80 degree lp shoots around 950 rpm after 10,000+ rounds. I guess that broken-in old lady is ready to settle down!

Glorious

Welp, today was an absolutely glorious shoot with my 3 mp5’s.

Last time out I used the ASD trigger and hammer for my full-sized mp5 after the hammer unjammer failed me in the rain. With JP rifles 3.5 pound springs, the ASD fcg is incredible. But be sure to use screw-in style anti-walk pins; standard fair won’t cut it!

The mp5k’s run great with their Geissele triggers.

CAT Mob’s on the K’s; Milkman on the full-sized. RU3’s for the tri-lug cans.

90 lp’s in the MAC5K and full-sized; 80 in the Zenith K.

And the 5.56 gun I left in this edit shoots softer than any of the soft-shooting mp5’s!!

And oh, Blazer Suppressor 147 is as gtg as it gets!

One More BAC

Also my daughter, on the left.

Needless to say, I’m over the moon!!!

This is Grace’s 4th year in drum corps and first year with the Boston Crusaders.

She tells me it’s an unbelievably wonderful awesome experience. There is such positivity in the corps from membership and staff.

The knowledge, abilities, capability, and tremendous work effort from the students and the instructors allow them to accomplish amazing feats in a tremendously positive and uplifting environment.

I’m SOOOO excited for what Boston has to offer this year.

WE LOVE YOU GRACE!!!!

New Things, Old Stuff; And Always Learning!!!

What a great shoot today.

Sadly, last time out I discovered the printed materials of both the hammer unjammer and the full-sized buffer can fail in the rain.

So today I used both ASD ARC trigger and their special rounded hammer in my full-sized ZF 5. The ASD fcg was paired with a JP Rifles enhanced reliability spring set.

Woah - this dropped the ROF 50 to 100 rpm compared to my G$ fcg’s. And with those springs and polishing, this new ASD ‘mil spec’ group is 90 to 95% of the way to my preferred G$ SSP.

Also had GREAT first shooting cycle with my new, 2nd, Hub CAT Mob. I’m lucky that this trash MAC5K that started my mp5 journey is totally perfectly reliable with just HK extractor, spring, and full mag catch assembly.

Also, the broken in recoil rod on the MAC5K shoots noticeably softer and slower than the newer tensioned assembly on my also great ZF 5T. I think I’ll swap the AI radial break nano on the 5T for the Spooky flash hider my QD Mobster came with to see if that slows it down a bit.

And I just left the DDM4 PDW in so you could hear some 300blk subs cycling.

Anyway - ENJOY!!

Who Among Us… Doesn’t Love New Can Day??

CAT Mob, this time in HUB!!!

Love me some mp5’s - 2 K’s with a QD Mob and now Hub Mob. 1 full-sized mp5 with OCL Milkman.

RU3’s on both Hub suppressors.

The RU3 is a FANTASTIC tri-lug mount. The bixler-style security is the only mount I trust after coming to tri-lugs after rifle suppressors.

It’s very much worth watching the Rugged video for proper mounting - twist, tighten, pull. Avoid user error!!!

Anyway, enjoy the photos. And I REALLY hope form 1 processing speeds up for those of us waiting ever less patiently in non-Soviet states.

My MP5’s

Can’t wait to shoot the second mob that was released just today over the weekend!

MAC5K with Mob on RU3
ZF-5T with QD Mob
ZF-5 with Milkman on RU3

90 degree locking pieces in all
ARC Fire 45/90’s in all

2 ASD mp5k lowers
1 Polymer Pew mp5 metal lower

Hammer Unjammer - Just Use It!

It’s a simple piece of printed polymer that slides on over the upper portion of your hammer.

I specifically use the Geissele mp5 hammer unjammer I bought from StrangeWatersPrints.

Flawless, and no buffer tube needed. Which makes this thing run buttery silky smooth.

I paid a company to round 2 hammers, waited 2 weeks for the hammers to return, only to find out that over $500 worth of Geissele fcg’s had been ruined by excess material removal.

I hope they make things right by me - we shall see.

Anyway, this $25 piece of plastic makes the gun run buttery smooth as no buffer short stroking is required.

90 degree locking piece is even better than the 100 while still retaining full reliability. Blazer suppressor 147 until HUSH 147 decreases price (yeah right).

Anyway, don’t be like me and pay someone to ruin your Geissele control groups. Just get the hammer unjammer and enjoy cyclic mp5 bliss!!

Now August

Was just perusing the Gram looking for any cyclic firing news or mp5 pics when the algorithm showed me the latest ARHK update.

Looks like they are now hoping for August.

They are very transparent in wanting the launch to go as well as possible.

I honestly may actually buy one just to see if it lowers fire rate compared to my AR lowers for one of my K’s.

Anyway, that’s the latest.

Always Learning

Major things I learned today are that an 80 lp is too low for my full-sized with Milkman and soft 147; and the RCM-e bolt just won’t work completely reliably for me.

I also learned my ZF5T mp5k needs the 90 lp to be fully reliable with Mob and soft Blazer suppressor 147. A JP 85 was almost there, but the 90 is completely there.

And this cool rifleconfigurator.com overlay is accurate with my mp5, and fairly accurate with long bursts on the K.

And this just co tinies to reaffirm my love of shooting this platform!

Waiting Wednesday

My newest mp5’s - a full-sized ZF-5 and happy accident ZF-5T K-variant.

Zenith USA quality is legit, as are the respective cans on their hosts. Milkman seems tailor-made for the 8.9” mp5, while the Mobster is glorious on any home.

Anxiously awaiting form 1’s that’ll hopefully come in August, unless things slow down further. And also waiting on an lgs call for a second Hub Mob for my trash MAC5K that started my mp5 love in the first place!

Enjoy
