I have a 97 Tacoma 2WD with a five speed stick, just over 111,000 miles on it. I was driving it yesterday and it seemed to struggle to get into gear. Finally, when I was sitting at a major intersection red light, the pedal just limply went right to the floor leaving me stranded. Eventually, I had it towed to my local mechanic shop. They were closed so I just left it with a note. Maybe I’ll hear something today, maybe not. How much bad news should I expect?

Edit: Heard back from my mechanic, he did diagnose the issue as hydraulic and will replace master and slave cylinders as many here suggested. Thanks all for the responses and helpful info!
