How does Ghost Touch Work?

I am starting my first playthrough of WOTR and I came across these shadows in the market square area. They're described as incorporeal so all of my physical damage didn't work against them and I activated Camellia's Ghost Touch ability which negates the effects of immunity to physical damage by incorporeal beings. Although I have it on, Camellia still deals no damage to the shadows despite landing multiple attack rolls and even a critical...

Seelah has been doing damage as a paladin but I don't understand how since she doesn't have a magical weapon... Is Ghost Touch bugged or am I just not understanding how to effect works?

Waitlist Transfer Rejected

Who else got rejected today?

Anyone else get rejected from the school of engineering? Wondering what the plan is moving forward as it seems they don’t accept Spring applications… Waiting an entire year to reapply seems insane.

Transfer Waitlist

Anybody else still on the waitlist? I applied for Civil engineering but have still yet to hear back with a definitive answer despite having submitted grades since the 20nd of May. I was told that they’re still waiting on my grades from my summer classes though the deadline is June 15th.

Wondering if this is just a delayed rejection or not as I have nearly perfect grades and CODA gpa.

PC Keeps Freezing After Startup

SPECS:

MB: MSI X870E-P Wifi

CPU: RYZEN 9850X3D

GPU: RTX 5080

Memory: 2 x 16GB GSkill RAM

Storage: 2Tb SSD

I recently built this PC 2-3 weeks ago and it ran until the other day where I installed new fans and updated Windows. Ever since then its been crashing continuously at random moments and I already removed the new fans, factory reset the entire PC and nothing…

I can’t even download MSI center before it crashes my entire PC, freezing and locking up the entire screen. It was running flawlessly before updating and now its almost like I have faulty hardware the way its rejecting any sort of downloading or literally anything as its freezing even faster on startup now. I’m considering taking in to a local tech repair store as I am running out of options but I truly rather not.

Are my fans facing the wrong way?

The metal center piece is facing this way but the other side has a metallic sticker with all the warning labels which leads me to believe that is the backside. Every video I saw had them facing this way to be an exhaust but i’m not sure its facing the right way.

PC crashing constantly after new fan installation

PC is only a couple weeks old and has ran completely fine up until now. I ordered 3 corsair case fans that I installed last night and have experienced 4 crashes where my entire PC freezes up, causing me to completely reboot it. I didn’t touch anything aside from daisy-chaining the fans together as the wires didn’t reach. They’re all being powered by one connector but I don’t believe that should be too much of an issue. The only thing I can think of is that maybe by slightly undervolting it, im causing my PC to breakdow on itself?

Every time its frozen it had to do with something with windows updating or a textbox opening up asking for permission for something but they all were when interacting with the actual OS which was weird. Temps seem normal, I don’t think its a hardware issue.

Beginner Seeking Advice!

I am trying out POE for the first time and am having difficulty grasping the mechanics. For reference, I have a lot of experience with BG3 playing primarily honor mode but this feels like a completely different beast lol.

I want to learn RTwP because it feels like the "right" way to play this game and because turn based feels like a slog when it seems like this game has a lot of fodder encounters. I like the classic feel of RTwP of just hurling attacks at each other until one falls but I don't quite grasp if I am underleveled, confused on how I should play, or both.

I chose a ranger to play sort of a drifter-esque role but I actually want the more hack and slash diablo gameplay that I am more used to seeing. I encountered the bear that killed that one guy directly after becoming a watcher and it one shot me and my familiar. I understand that being an archer is going to be rather squishy but I have it on normal and at least expected to last a little longer so after multiple attempts I just left. Should I just be spamming the attack button when in fights or will my parties AI automatically use their attacks when available? Is it best to just switch classes or hold off till I get party members so that they can fill that role?

First Build!

Motherboard - MSI x840e

GPU - RTX 5080

CPU - AMD 7 9850X3D

Memory - 32 GB

Storage - 2 TB

I have fully assembled my first PC! It was an incredibly tedious process to say the least, although I am glad I did it as I feel more confident in my ability to troubleshoot. I believe this build to be very well equipped to handle whatever I throw at it, currently running BG3 at max settings with steady 240 FPS which compared to my previous laptops and PS5, is a huge upgrade.

I installed the Thermalright Phantom Spirit evo 120 air cooler for my CPU but I feel a little discouraged at the temps. From what I saw, 70 C is a normal temp for gaming sessions but I do want to maximize temps if possible for peace of mind. I'd appreciate any suggestions for additional fans and placements for them. (Yes I know my cable management and table clutter is an eyesore lol).

Desktop Setup Driver Issue?

I would REALLY appreciate any help. I have x870e MB and am trying to install Windows 11 on my Msi Mag 272qp. I couldn’t get it to setup Windows but now it shows that it starts up but it will say there’s an issue with the driver so I searches online and saw that I might need to download a current LAN driver. I did so and it still gave me erros about media players or somethin.

I see recommendations about ressting the CMOS but I can’t get the battery out to save my life and I can’t find the pins to do it manually. I am getting quite frustrated with this. I didn’t really mess with the BIOS screen at all except for Expos setting so idk why I’d need to reset the CMOS in the first place.

Wrote this last night so not home rn but would appreciate some help troubleshooting for when I get home :)

Title. I am looking at the G762 from MicroCenter which is $3000 pre tax and honestly am not the most tech savvy. I’ve done minimal research but from what I understand, it has the specs I’d want with the 5080 and the 9850X3D processor but I have issues with the motherboard and the cooling unit. I hear that the Asrock has been faulty but some say its been fixed and that this build in particular is pretty loud. I’d prefer that the build be fan-cooled? and to be genuinely reliable.

This is my first desktop so I am not the most well versed but I generally use laptops. I also don’t really care for RGB or cool layouts for the actual PC, as long as its a normal black case I’m completely okay with that.

Edit: Meant less than or equal to $3000 lol.

Looking at the G757 at MC (not my fav case but has the specs I like for the most part). I am not the most tech savvy person but from what I understand, the 5080 would be 2ndish best GPU out rn but my main concern is how much of an upgrade the entire system would be above my current laptop.

I got a Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i with the RTX4060, Intel core ultra 9 and 32 GB DDR5. I mainly want to game on my new setup and I want minimal fan noise as the laptop gets really loud during most games played. I just want a rig that feels premium and not like i’m constantly on the cusp of overworking it.

I wont be doing any major work on it although I had run CAD programs on my laptop before and it began to run extremely slow on large projects with 100+ parts being used. If I were to be running CAD programs, would this new setup be better in performance? A quick search says that the i9 is better in that setting compared to the 9800X3D which is not appealing.

I preferably want the 64GB of ram as it would feel like a nice cushion for longevity but all the rest of the prebuilts are way more expensive and have parts that aren’t highly reviewed such as the Asrock MBs that apparently go bad. Any recommendations?

I’d be driving around 2 hours to th nearest MC so not rly in a rush but want to have my mind made up if and when I do go.
