How do you Storyboard Fight Scenes???

No lie. I think I am just an idiot or something. So I have a hard time trying to figure out the storyboarding a fight scene? Like this is a barrier. I watched too much king fu, anime, and action movies to figure out the structure of the fight scene and what they are fighting for. But storyboarding it is a hassle.

Like my favorite action movies right now is Raid Redemption and I was looking online and I do not see a single storyboard because all the people in the movie just did the choreography right there. So I am like confused man?

How do you storyboard a fight scene?? Do you use reference when coming up with the story board or do you just wing it (imagination)?

What are good Fight Scenes or Movies that haves a Characters Fighting over an Item?

Hi. I am over here with the tip of my tongue looking for movies or action scenes that have a character fighting over an item or the whole premise of the movie fighting for an item. So far I watched movies that do match what I am looking for and what I am not. Like Kung Fu Panda, Justice League (Snyderverse), and The Indiana Joe movies. So are the Pirate of The Caribbean and etc.,

Are there other movies that follow this premise? Need all the ideas for a short film.

Box Mannequin

Just need feedback on these box mannequins. I feel like I am on the right track, but something is off and I downgraded somehow. I was watching youtube videos and trying to complete week 5 of challenge 52. But once I looked at the points where it was at #1 to #20 I can see that they look completely different.

So my question is:

  1. How do I add more gesture while it being more structured?
  2. How do I know when a box is tilting of changing it axis & and what landmarks I should follow in order for me to find the change in space?
  3. How do I like… stop drawing big? (That a main problem that I have since it is literally some that is big and small and others that look as like it is off by a lot)?
  4. (The main question) What perspective exercises do you recommend I order to get a good grasp of the 3D proportions and is tilts that comes with the mannequin?

Animation Island Exercises (1-4, skipped the brick though) Feedback

Hello. I am trying to improve on my animation skills and I am going nowhere in just looking at tutorials and blindly copying people doing it over and over. So I just try to do the Animation Island 51: Exercise Challenges and I just want to show a progress update to get feedback and see how am I doing. For notes or for feedback I created a Sync Sketch link for the critiques, and if anyone ask for the Brick falling, I lost the file so I have to start over for that.

I just wanna ask… How do you actually break into this industry?

I am at a lost for words. On one side they say that you need a demo reel, lots of connections, and a good spirit to break into the industry (as well as internships… which I cannot find at all sadly). Then in the other side they say I do not need a demo reels (unless your giving it to show your work), connections and you can literally get a job if you have the social presence and the following. They are many examples of animators who landed a studio job via social media and people who landed a job via connection and a demo reel

As my Graduation is coming up… How the hell am I suppose to break into the industry.? I am still at the most of leveling up my animation skills, and trying to find internships. But I am always confused the how to break I rather than the breaking in itself.

Is Freelance the best method when it comes to animators? Because the state of this economy and the state of which studios are laying off thousands of employees and there are people who just want to become animators/artists and using AI as a means to make money. As well as a lot of people on this forums asking the particular questions that I would not repeat myself because it really pains me to say that I hat those posts, Is Freelancing the better option in today’s era of animation?

Looking For Feedback for My Progress

I just want to know what to improve upon on the upcoming days. I recently did a lot of animating and I feel like I am stuck in something I cannot grasp upon. I just want feedback and what to know what to look after moving forward?

I Was Looking For Feedback For My Progress

I just bunched up some animations that I thought was good and some that is well... not the good to see if I can get feedback from it. Progressed it to from Day 1 (Ball Bounce), to the Day 14 (Walk Cycle... I did Rusty Animates Animation Challenge... the Ball though, all by myself), and I just want to see what I need to improve upon. Now this video is heavily edited... because I do not know how to Play blast Cycles.

I just want feedback from my body mechanics and see if there is somethings I need to improve upon and what to look out for while progressing further into getting better at animation?

Ending is glitching or feels like it is not moving smoothly

I am trying to figure out why the end is all jagged or janky. I did delete the poses and reposed them and I did try to like try to fix it in the graph editor, but it is still just coming out janky. I do not know how to fix it and make it smooth?

Organic Shapes

I just need feedback into this. I lowkey do get the concept… but… I do not get it. I do not get the contours when it comes to the organic shapes. Read it from the Dynamic Bible by Peter Han, then watched some videos on contours, and it is getting there. But.. I feel like there is something off, cannot put my hand in it.
