Kaiser grounds for infusion?

Hello fellow anemics, I had extremely low energy last year so my dr ran my blood in July 2025 My ferritin was 12 😩 everything else on the CBC test was normal. By Nov 2025 I raised it to 22 🙄. She told me I can stop taking supplements. I kept taking the supplements for about another month and then stopped.
Here we are, forced her to run my tests again after being denied at first. I’m back to 16 ferritin and trying to keep up with my toddlers. Do I have grounds for an infusion? If only my ferritin is low but nothing else?

Also is this hereditary? My mom had low iron, my two toddlers also have low ferritin, one practically survives on meat alone by his choosing. I’m just trying to figure out what is going on here. Thank you!
