Here’s the clip of Trump saying, “take out Los Angeles and San Diego.”
YSK: Putting a black box over something in a PDF doesn't necessarily hide it. People can sometimes copy and paste whatever you covered up.
Why YSK: If you've ever covered your address, account number, or other personal information with a black rectangle before sending someone a PDF, you might want to know this.
Depending on how you edited it, you may have just placed a black box over the original text without actually deleting anything.
In some PDFs, someone can literally highlight the blacked out section, copy it, and paste it somewhere else to see what you were trying to hide.
If you're sending anything with sensitive information, use an actual PDF redaction tool that removes the underlying content. Don't just draw over it.
And if you want to check whether something was properly redacted, try copying the covered area yourself before sending it.
Adobe explains how to properly redact and remove hidden information here:

Anyone in San Diego have old, rusty, dirty, or neglected stuff they want restored for free?
I’m starting a little restoration project where I clean up and restore old stuff and try to bring it back to life.
I’m looking for things around San Diego that are old, rusty, dirty, beat up, vintage, neglected, or just sitting around collecting dust. Tools, toys, furniture, metal objects, old household items, weird garage finds, pretty much anything that could make for a satisfying before & after.
I’m doing the restorations for free because I want the projects to film and document. If it’s something you want back afterward, you absolutely get it back. If it’s something you just want gone, I’m happy to keep it too.
I got way more interest than I expected when I first posted about this in r/SanDiego, so I made a simple form where people can send photos and details and I can keep everything organized:
I can only work on one or two things at a time depending on the project, but I’ll look through everything people send.
If you’ve got something crusty sitting in your garage, closet, backyard, etc., send it over.

reddit.comELI5: Why do AI subscriptions have token/usage limits?
I’m trying to understand why AI subscriptions work this way because I genuinely don’t get it.
I’m paying $20/month for ChatGPT. I understand that the company has to pay for the computing power to run the AI, but then I use up my available messages on the “better”/more advanced model and suddenly I have to wait for my limit to reset or use a less capable model.
Why does it work like that?
If I’m already paying a monthly subscription, why can’t that just mean “you have access to this model for $20/month, use it as much as you want”?
Is it because every time I send a message, the company is essentially paying for electricity/GPUs/computing resources to generate the response, so someone who sends 500 messages costs them WAY more than someone who sends 20?
And where do tokens come into this? What exactly is a token measuring, and why does generating a long response or having a long conversation cost more than a short one?
Basically, I’m looking for an ELI5 explanation of why AI can’t work like Netflix, where I pay one monthly fee and then the cost of my individual usage is basically irrelevant to me.

reddit.comCleaned up/reformatted the "UFO Knowledge" whistleblower threads from 4chan (No.34629564 & No.34704869) into something actually readable
I was curious about these 4chan threads that people bring up here sometimes but had a hard time reading through them. The archived version (via 4plebs) was a mess of cookie banners, nav junk, image filenames, and quote-chain clutter, so I stripped all that out and reformatted both threads (all 728 posts) into a clean doc with post numbers, timestamps, and reply references intact.

Figured I'd share in case it saves someone else the eye strain.
What causes that person to fall down over there across the street on the top right?
I wasn't sure where to post this. I happened to see a guy across the street surrounded by paramedics and unresponsive, so I got curious and went back to check the footage to see when and why he fell in the first place. I'm nosey. Does it look like something pushed this man? He never responded to the paramedics; they picked him up, put him on a stretcher, and that was it.
Can an old sex-offense conviction based on a false accusation be challenged?
Location: Texas (we now live in California)
I'm posting this because I genuinely don't know where to start, and I'm hoping people with experience in Texas post-conviction law can point me in the right direction.
My husband is 55 now. Decades ago, when he was much younger, he was accused of a sex offense involving a 15-year-old girl. He maintains that he did not touch her or commit the offense he was accused of.
At the time, he was already in serious legal trouble for unrelated offenses, including a burglary and marijuana-related charges. His attorney advised him that pleading guilty to the sex offense was the best option for him given his circumstances and the other charges he was facing. He followed his attorney's advice and pleaded guilty.
This is important because I don't want people to assume that his guilty plea means he was admitting that the accusation was true. He has maintained that he was innocent of the sex offense, but trusted his attorney's advice and believed taking the plea was his best option given how vulnerable his legal situation was at the time.
The part that has stayed with us all these years is that the girl later admitted that the accusation wasn't true. From what my husband was told, the accusation was made because she didn't want her mother to be with him and she fabricated the story because of that.
My husband is no longer in contact with the girl or her family, so we don't currently have access to her or know exactly where she is. We also don't yet know what documentation from that time still exists.
I understand that a guilty plea is a serious matter, and I'm not asking anyone to simply take my word for it or to excuse sexual offenses. If he had actually committed the crime, I would not be making this post.
I'm trying to figure out what legitimate legal options exist for someone in this situation.
He's 55 now and is still dealing with the consequences of this old conviction and sex-offender registration. It's making it extremely difficult for him to get and keep employment, even decades later. He is trying to move forward with his life, but this conviction continues to follow him.
What I'm trying to find out is:
- What is the first step in Texas for investigating an old conviction based on actual innocence?
- Can an old guilty plea be challenged if there is credible evidence that the accusation was fabricated?
- Does the fact that his attorney advised him to take the plea affect the analysis?
- How would we obtain the original police reports, court records, plea transcript, attorney records, etc.?
- What kind of Texas attorney should we be looking for — post-conviction, habeas, actual innocence, or something else?
- If the original accuser is no longer in contact with him, how could an attorney investigate whether there is evidence of her previous admission/recantation?
- If overturning the conviction isn't possible, are there other ways to address the sex-offender registration requirement?
I'm not looking for anyone to help us evade the law or registration requirements. We want to pursue whatever legitimate legal process is available and, if he truly was wrongfully convicted, have the conviction and its consequences properly addressed.
If anyone has experience with Texas post-conviction cases involving false accusations, guilty pleas, or actual innocence, I'd really appreciate hearing what the first practical step should be.

Tonight I Watched a Girl Help Save Someone's Life Downtown
From what I could tell, three girls were out for the night when they came across a guy who had collapsed and looked like he was overdosing. One of them immediately took over, running over in her boots and shorts, yelling to ask if anyone had Narcan. Someone did. I think she had a dose of her own too, but in the end, they needed another one, and the way she sprinted toward the person who said they had extra, I tell you what.
A bunch of strangers jumped in, CPR was started, and EMTs got there impressively fast. Before long the guy was awake and walking away with the woman he was with, like nothing had even happened.
Whoever you were, girl in the boots, I saw you. You stopped your night to help a complete stranger without thinking twice, and you very likely helped save his life. I watched your friends help calm you down after it was over, and I hope you all went on to enjoy the rest of your night.
Just thought you deserved a little shoutout. Nice reminder that there are still people out there who don't hesitate when it matters.
Little hero. Good on you.
Edit to add: Naloxone (Narcan) is legal for anyone to carry, and it's available free of charge. Big thanks to the redditors who shared these links:

Update on the Girl in the Boots!
For those of you who firmly believe nothing on the internet actually happens and I am just a bored aspiring novelist: plot twist.
"I’m shocked reading this on Reddit. I know who this is and she’s an incredible person. Not a nurse just a wonderful human. I just sent it to her. It’s going to mean so much to her that you posted this. Thank you
(Also while this was happening, someone stole her car keys…)"
and to whoever stole her keys: you suck so bad. I hope you get the worst stomach ache ever tonight and that your phone charger only works at a very specific, uncomfortable angle.
