I'm surprised a crowd didn't gather to watch the former regional champion vs the Duelist Kingdom runner-up

Did he lead them far away so no one would see he cheated, or to recreate the Yugi duel in Duelist Kingdom?

A simple explanation as to why Bill doesn't wear a seatbelt

Wearing a seatbelt only has an impact if you crash. Bill is a good driver. Good drivers don't crash. Therefore, Bill has nothing to worry about. Only bad drivers crash and soar through the windshield like they're holding on to the wings of an eagle.

In the same vein, a true Pantheon guy (not like that fraud Karl Malone) wills his team to victory, he just does. When the game is close, he says "we're not fucking losing" and if his team does lose, it's because the superstar was concussed or otherwise injured, if not, it's because he is fraudulent.

Have we ever seen Bill wearing any kind of glasses or sunglasses?

His ears seem to make that a physical impossibility, making something like the above more practical.

You can attend a Clipper game with Steve Ballmer. Courtside seats, everything is paid for, but he does the following to you every time the Clippers make a great play. Do you accept the offer?

The contrast between the third place and championship games couldn't have been greater

3rd place game: fast, loose, and free with 10 goals scored. Ultimately fun and unserious. Felt like an All-Star game.

Championship game: hard-fought, ugly 1-0 defensive struggle where one team had zero shots on goal in 120 minutes of football. One player even got sent off with two yellows.

I don't expect this big of a contrast every 4 years, but I thought it was interesting. Perhaps a third-place game between teams with lower expectations than England and France would produce a more "serious" game.

Similar to the bad soccer takes, what are the dumb takes/questions people would have when watching basketball, baseball, or football for the first time?

We've seen the countless talk about how offside shouldn't exist. What would the equivalent be for other sports?

  • "Why are they running up the middle when there's all that space outside?"
  • "Why don't they just drive to the basket and dunk every time?"
  • "Why did he swing at that pitch when it wasn't even close to being a strike?"
  • "Why don't pitchers just throw strikes?"
  • "Why did he throw a short pass when it's 3rd and long?"

Zach Lowe should ask for his NBA awards ballot back

He has said that he doesn't like the idea of his vote determining a player's contract situation, but there are a finite number of voters, and his vote has almost certainly gone to someone less-equipped to cast a good ballot than he is. With great power comes great responsibility. It just does.

I've come around on Contact Seekers

I know people will ask because of the broken tackles: yes this is on Heisman. Contact Seekers don't get the trucking ability Headfirst, which is ridiculous (I'm not up to date on CFB 27 so I don't know if that has changed), but I think Downhill is even better (2nd best ballcarrier ability behind Shifty IMO) and creates runs like this.

I ranked them 4th amongst the 6 HB archetypes and I still stand by that because I think they can have really low floors and the average one is not that great. But the high-end contact seekers can be as good as any RB.
