Elder Scrolls on the DS

How many of you have played Fighting Fantasy: the Warlock of Firetop Mountain? I’ve finished the game three times and have always been baffled at how underrated the game is. It’s basically like they gave Daggerfall a DS port. It’s really good. Deserves more love.

My Favorite Arcade Games!

Tetris, Galaxian, Galaga, and Pac-Man. My favorites.

u/GlassWinter5259 — 3 days ago

Some of my favorites!

Tetris
Galaxian
Galaga
Pac-Man
Mega Man classic NES series 1-6

All of them are Pocket Player Pros except the arcade cabinet which is a Micro Player Pro.

When everyone’s gone to sleep and I can unwind, I enjoy these a lot. I play Tetris the most, and actually carry that one in my bag throughout the day, although they all see regular use. All officially-licensed emulators that come pre-loaded. The ultimate evolution of the “Game&Watch” category of consoles imo. Except, these are actually fun and durable, which hasn’t been my experience with most handhelds I’ve tried in the “Game&Watch” category.

My 3DS collection

Love these systems.

Back in the day I even had my BF4 emblem on the 360 custom drawn as a N3DSXL running Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate lol

Also threw in an old pic of before the system’s End of Life. Looking back at those prices, I definitely should have just cleared out the store’s stock as often as I possibly could have. I could be retired! Oh well, hindsight is 20/20 🤣

Small Tetris Arcade Machine

I've gone through about 15 dedicated Tetris handhelds in my life, and the Tetris Pocket Player Pro version is my favorite. But I always post that, so today I thought I'd share another Tetris version l've tried.
This is the BasicFun Tetris Arcade, which I bought and then gave away within 3 days. The build quality feels flimsy, especially the joystick, so I just didn't really like it. My mother-in-law likes it so I gave it to her.
That being said, objectively I cannot complain about it too much. It does work well enough to be fully playable, and I REALLY like the edition of Tetris they made for it. Wish they released it elsewhere where it could be played on better hardware, it feels so cozy and old-school.

Upgraded my Tetris machine!

I got an AUX-capable rechargeable speaker for my Tetris player, and I just wanted to share. Love the setup, now I can record my gameplay to post on here without the sound being crappy.

Early Father’s Day gift!

I have been wanting a backup duplicate of my Tetris Pocket Player Pro for a little while now, just to make sure I have one in case my main one breaks or the world ends. You never know these days lol

As an early Father’s Day gift my wonderful wife tracked down a nice sealed-in-box special edition with the OEM case and Tetris certificate of authenticity! Very excited to have the whole kit and two Tetris players now, just wanted to share.

Favorite handhelds?

What systems have really just hit that sweet spot for you? And what do you typically play? I I would like to hear which handhelds are favored in yalls experience.

My favorite game and most-used device is my Tetris Pocket Player Pro, which only plays Tetris. It is, technically speaking, an official Sega Genesis emulator under the hood, and even though this version of Tetris has only been released on this device it should run on any Genesis.

I have a tablet with RetroArch and like 400 games on it all PS1/NES/SNES/GB/GBA. I have a bluetooth keyboard for it. Works perfectly I just never really play on it. The setup doesn’t “do it” for me. Would like to get a dedicated handheld device that can play that range.

Some of my favorites!

Especially Tetris and Galaxian. I think if I could only play two games for the rest of my life it would be those two.

Classic Tetris: Objective based or endless?

Which type of Tetris gameplay do you all prefer? Do you like having set line clear goals / level goals, where the game ends upon completion of the goal, or do you prefer playing endless?

I personally enjoy both, but with the NES / GB / Pocket Player rocket launch endings I somewhat prefer objective-based gameplay. For some reason I really like the launch ending sequences. Never gets old.

I want to get more into endless though. I’m buying a Chromatic with its new gameboy Tetris cartridge soon, as I read it has an excellent old-school endless mode where I can make the settings classic. I’m excited to give it a good go.

So which mode do you guys enjoy? And if you are big into endless, how far have you gotten?

Finished 1, started MM2! I have some questions

I’ve been playing Mega Man 1 for a few weeks on my Mega Man Pocket Player Pro, which is an official handheld and replicates the original experience. No save states, just the raw NES experience for the original six mega man titles. I’m going through them in order, and am finally into Mega Man 2.

Really loving it, kinda blown my mind with how much more polished and detailed the game is. I thought Mega Man 1 was decently polished, but now that I’ve started 2 I can really see the difference. Feels like it came out 5 years after the first. I do wish it was as hard as the first, I’ve realized it’s a lot easier, but I really love how fluid the game feels. I want to say it even beats Super Mario 3 in my opinion for overall fluidity and graphical beauty.

Looking forward to beating this and starting Mega Man 3! I’ve heard lots of good things about 3.

Out of the first 6 titles, which Mega Man is yalls favorite? And which of the later titles do you guys enjoy the most?

I am planning on finishing these 6 original Mega Man games first, on my Pocket Player Pro, but I have well over a dozen other Mega Man titles on my RetroArch tablet setup spanning a bunch of consoles. Bunch of mainline games and like all the spinoffs not counting recent ones. I’m not really intending on playing all those, that’s too much, but I would definitely love to know which are well respected in the community! I’d like to play the ones you guys would call your favorites.

First post! Big fan of Tetris

This is my Tetris rig. Goes with me everywhere. I really like the custom version of the game the Pocket Player Pro comes with. Mostly classic style gameplay with a couple key modern QoL upgrades. Visuals modeled after the 1980s System 16 tetris. It also has the NES/GB style rocket launches. Some of the things I enjoy about this version.

What do you guys like to play on?
