Ok...I loved the whole show but one thing bugged me so much!
Felix & Scott. They were hard core supports of the sestras but what about them?? I feel like they both got used in a way. I feel like Donnie was part of the plot but Felix and Scott just gave and gave and got nothing back.
I don't know what to do. I am a faithful member. I wear my garments. I serve others when needed by bringing meals or helping people move. I am constantly looked over for a calling no matter how often or persistent I am in asking for one. They redid all the callings & yet again, I am not needed. I just can't take this heartbreak over and over. It is affecting my self esteem & self worth. I don't know what to do. It has been 16 years and no calling. I am at the point of attending a different church after ours that needs me. I attended a few times with a friend who is a member there & they already need me to take over their soup kitchen mission & I am excited and happy to do it. (The lady doing is before me has moved into a nursing home in another town.) They do the soup kitchen on Sundays so this means I may have to miss our church quite often. Is this ok? I don't want them to think I am inactive but I have a heart to serve and it has been shown to me over and over and over that there is no need for me in our ward. No one even notices if I am not there. I've been told, "Just find a need and fill it." I have tried this and then told that I cannot just create and do my own calling. It has to come from the Bishop. How do I do this and still be seen as an active member?

I am having an issue where I cannot edit the notes section. It is always greyed out with the info I put there the first time I booked someone.

At court today my child's father made baseless claims that my child doesn't live with me because she has gone on vacation for a week with a friend's family and because she sometimes spends the night at her friend's house. (Her friends sleep over at our home too.) He claims strangers on the internet have sent him messages saying she doesn't live at home.
The judge said I need to prove she lives with me. How do I prove that a child lives with me? We homeschool so I can't get like a bus driver to write a letter. I called our local school district to see if they even provide this info & they said they don't get involved with this kind of thing & that a child showing up for school every day doesn't tell them where they actually sleep at night. All they can provide is attendence records for in person and homeschool students.
Would a judge really accept facebook messages from people this man doesn't even know in person? I am sure they must be fake.
*******Very disheartening that only one person responded to my post. It really tells me that I can't depend on hearing interpreters to have our backs as CDIs.
I am really frustrated with lack of access for DIs trying to study for the EIPA. Most of the study materials are spoken English. Why would these materials not be in ASL anyway? It seems so disrespectful. Does anyone have a good resource for accessible EIPA study material?
Hello! I am needing to upload documentation for a motion to reconsider how much support is being paid. The info was with the copy of the motion sent to me & I spilled coffee on it. (Silly, I know.) Anyway- it had info on how and where to submit my pay stubs. It said something about having to do a special exhibit process and when I go online to the document submission it says to do it but there are zero instructions on how. Google has turned up nothing. How can that info only be on the paper? Help!
Does anyone know what companies that have legit Deaf Ed resources are approved for the UA scholarship? I've been looking on the website & can't find anything but hearing-centric "sign language" dictionaries.
Last Friday I went to the ER. While in triage, they set up the VRI (AMN) and used it to inform me that my VRI appointment was being recorded for "charting purposes."
Is this even legal? As a DI I see this from both sides.
Does anyone know were things stand now with AI possibly replacing interpreters?
It seems like it can't be perfect but I feel like it would be cool to have that option.
**********The majority of these comments have been cruel & constantly pushing back my Deaf experience. I honestly now am not sure if I even feel like I can trust or feel safe around an interpreter anymore. Knowing this many interpreters can be so mean & not even understand that Deaf have a hard time finding a job. Even thought job was just for summer- it mattered. Not even understanding what we go through. I think I will do what my Deaf students do. They don't like to use VRS/interpreter & call it old fashioned. They text & use captions on their phones. I think I get know why they do.
Ok. I am a DI so I am very familiar with appropriate dress/hair/nails for terps.
Today I had a job interview. It was a HUGE deal for me because I can't get enough work as a DI.
Anyway- when the call came in, I was SHOCKED to see the interpreter had literally Barney purple hair! It totally messed up my focus & it was near impossible to even follow the interview.
HIs- PLEASE! You hold our lives in your hands. Something like this is SO disrespectful. If you want fake color hair, long nails, visual whatever- find another career! You clearly don't understand the impact you make.
I will be reporting it to Purple (ironic??) but I doubt they would do anything. What kind of company even allows a terp on the phones with a glaring visual noise like that?
This is proof that the field is going downhill really fast.
My husband and I FINALLY found a doctor we love. We live in an area with crappy doctors & cannot risk getting booted by them.
I've called and requested 5 times. I finally started sending emails to have a paper trail and they won't respond.
How can I fix this without losing our doctor? I'm a DI & I know how to advocate for myself but clearly something is getting through to them.

Why do some boosters not have latch? Is latch safer?
Why do some seats have impact devices & some don't? Aren't they supposed to all be equally safe? (Ex. Comparing the Britax Skyline vs. Britax Highpoint.) Is there a cheaper seat on the market with that kind of side impact protection?

Hello! I am flying in to Austin to take my BEI. Can anyone suggest the best hotel to stay at? I've had some bad luck with hotels recently so I am nervous.
Our ward only has one other family with kids younger than teens. We moved in 2 months ago & I was excited because we haven't been successful finding families with similar values. Our church is seen as "devil worship" here in the deep south. People are also very much pro alcohol, vaping and smoking. I wasn't prepared for it. So, I really prefer at this impressionable age that kids focus on friends in church. Anyway- after coming for 3 weeks I reached out to the mother of the other kids in primary. I invited them over to have lunch & to play. She responded, "I don't feel that at this time our family has any intention of spending time with yours outside of church." This was very hurtful & honestly, I don't see the point in my kids seeing them in church if they are just going to fake being nice to them during primary and then ghost them in the real world. This kind of thing never happened to us in Idaho. I am open to advice. I don't know if any other wards in our stake have kids, but if they do, should I switch? My kiddos need friends. It isn't healthy not to socialize & it isn't healthy to socialize with the other locals who are "burn outs." (I don't mean to sound mean- I don't know what younger people call those who smoke, do drugs and drink a lot.) I am not being judgmental but I cannot have someone smoking in my kids' face or having them be around drunk people. Alcoholism runs in my family. Meth is a HUGE issue in my town too. I just want to keep playdates safe and healthy.

Can anyone confirm that the IRS actually gets their faxes and mail? I have paid twice for overnight mail to them & they keep sending back a letter asking for the same exact thing I've already faxed and mailed to them. I am really frustrated at this point!
For clarification I have been send the CP518 form. They say they never got my 2022 taxes. I've sent it back, filled out the delinquency form and included my tax paperwork from 2022. How long with this game go on??
We just got a second car & now we need a second seat for our 8 year old. They are 46 inches & just barely 40 lb.
I've been looking at the stand alone boosters & they seem like they don't offer a lot of protection. When I look at the newer 3 in 1 seats they look like they surround the kiddos with protection. Am I over thinking this? I would like my kiddo to be in a 5 pt if possible since they are only 39 lb & 40 lb depending on the day. They are very small for their age.
What seat would you suggest? Money is very tight so I would like to stay $200 and under. I worry about the bullying for not have the $800 or swivel seats that parents have now. Our kiddo has used their old seat for years. (Britax- no longer in the budget)
Adding that I have a small car- Chevy Bolt so protection in a crash is important to me.
I waited 6 months to get into a dentist in my area. I have excellent insurance but the dentures are still going to be over 1k.
They want me to have extractions and wait for them to heal before doing impressions. What am I supposed to do about going to work? I have to talk on screen in professional meetings. This could tank my career or at the very least leave me vulnerable to gossip & bullying.
Has anyone found a very cheap option to avoid looking like I miss teeth? My teeth are very visible in my job.
