How do you predict trail status after rain?

For Denver area front range

Trailforks/MTB project are pretty unpredictable, and rarely show up to date checks.

FB groups are a smidge better, but still not too reliable.

Im a bigger guy, so when someone says “a little wet” and I show up 210 + a bike, I usually always am leaving some deeper tracks and turn back.

I usually ride VCMP, Lair/Baga, and other nearby trails. I just hate being that guy and messing up trail crews.

Places like Ruby hill, valmont, and Erie single track post up to date status fairly regularly. so this is usually who I base ”the rest of trails” off of. But it is not as accurate as you could imagine.

Cakes in Crispi?

just did a GF coffee cake and turned out pretty well actually.

beside the fact the top cooked faster, I had to flip it after 20 min to finish the raw bottom.

i might tweak the recipe to use less batter and use the larger one to create a flatter cake basically.

however pretty impressed!

Culture norms for early mornings?

Hello!

I'm visiting Barcelona from the U.S. in October for a work trip, and it'll be my first time in Europe.

My weekdays will be pretty packed (roughly 8 AM–9 PM), so I won't have much time for solo exploring. I'm an early morning person though—usually up around 5 AM to either get outside or hit the gym before the day starts.

I'd like to keep that routine while using it as a chance to see a bit of the city. I'll be staying near Plaça d'Espanya, and I'm thinking of doing easy morning runs to explore, with Montjuïc at the top of my list.

Since it's my first time in Europe, I also want to make sure I'm integrating well and not unintentionally bothering locals. Are there any etiquette tips, things to avoid, or recommendations for early-morning running routes around Plaça d'Espanya and Montjuïc?

As for a gym nearby, I was planning on using Synergym Arenes.

I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Rutabaga, best pre work ride?

Nothing else, I love this trail; COMBA really nailed it for all aspects of Colorado riding. Short too.

Some steeps, some rocks, some jumps, but nothing that I feel like I should skip because it could prevent me from coming into work.

One hell of a boss fight

I love just every boss fight in this game, but this one was so satisfying. I was on zero Gourd since phase 2 and basically had to no hit all of phase 3.

The music, setting, cinematic moves, and lore just was all around perfect for me.

Took about 1-2 hours if I remember with countless deaths.

I am so happy I listened to that soldier, or I would have just missed that (also thought the fat dude was the secret boss at first lol)

Wish I got a longer vid but hopefully enjoy as much as I did.

I know I am at the end, but I am really struggling on finishing, I need more.

I also know this fight is much easier with the umbrella, but wanted to try without it.

Barbell/platform focused gyms?

Hello, looking at some gyms in the area, main want is a platform space for Olympic style lifting and powerlifting.

I am at 24 hour fitness off alameda now, but considering other options.

already tried Chuze for a couple days, just not a fan and they are very against chalk/liquid chalk.

Armburst is a possibly option, just a little far and more machine focused (saw 2 total)

All of the rec centers we saw, green mountain and carmedy, were also lacking.

Maybe I am missing some thing else? could just be a crossfit gym that allows open hours for a fair rate.

South of green mountain in Rooney valley neighborhood, a max 15 min drive is good for us.

A respectful gym community (just no creeps) is a plus too

Beckon - how much am I looking all in for 2?

Hi all, celebrating a 1 year anniversary this year. Want something special, but also a young couple trying to budget.

I am guessing if we stick to dinner only, around 500 is fair?

Other options I was considering were nocturne and wildflower. She loves dressing up think these spots fit the bill.

Any next steps to tilted pedal (left one in video/right pedal riding)

hello, got a specialized status 140 for you all.

Taken on a couple rides, so far it has been pretty solid.

However I took a slam into the side of a trail, and hit the pedal/crank hard on a rock. I was fine, but could tell pedaling that something was off.

almost feels like instead of a perfect circle around the Y-Axis, it is now shifted a bit towards the X-Axis.

Downhill was fine, but was still feeling like something was wrong.

From this view, I hope it helps, but the left pedal noticeably is slanted outwards a bit.

I initially thought I bent the axle on my race face atlas pedals, which is why the stock rubbers are on, but alas it looked the same, the pedals don’t look bent upon takeoff.

So I imagine that leaves crank or spindle right? Maybe the threaded part of the cranks even? Unsure of anyways to cheaply fix, or if a crank set is just the way to for it

Any reasons to avoid used CX-90s?

Shopping around for a new used car, and came across a lot of CX-90s in the 25-30k range.

For reference, the CX-70 is the more practical car for me as I will never use the third row, but if a comparable CX-70 is 3-5k more, then I would just get the 90.

Any issues to look out for if I decide to test it out?

Thinking about my next bike, I am 6’3 210 with gear, and want a fun poppy AM bike that can handle some steeper jumps too, and leaning towards the 140.

As I was looking around, I came across the 5010 too (can’t afford unfortunately), in XL, and surprisingly the geo numbers are pretty close to the S4 status 140, largest difference is a ~25 mm stack diff, while other measurements are fairly close.

While the S5 just jumps dramatically vs a Xl 5010 in all other categories.

id love to demo a status, but can’t find any near me, so going off reviews, and other riders my size who did the same.

Basically, anyone else around here done the same? think it would help the complaints about issues on mellow terrain, but with it being so slack I believe it would be able to still shine in steep terrain.

Searching for a Transition Patrol like bike, but without the price tag (2500 budget).

Came across the sight on EVO and heavily considering this.

I just am worried about it not being a “party bike” like the patrol is, although when looking at geo (minus bb height), everything is pretty darn close.

Is it just marketing on transitions side? Will the Sight still be able to flick around, jump off side hits, and overall be enjoyable?

Or will this be muted and planted compared to the patrol.

I also considered the status for this (same thing, similar geo) but think it will be a bit much for daily use.
