Xmas Parties are already being planned

I can't do this again, it feels like last Christmas was 3 months ago, I cant keep doing groundhog day Christmas.

The shops have all the halloween decorations out now meaning the Christmas ones will be out soon.

It feels like they start celebrating earlier and earlier every damn year

WHY WILL IT END

My desk job is burning me out

So I have worked an office job for 5 years now, doing admin/scheduling work and I hate it, there is lots of tedious, monotonous and pointless tasks I have to do, there are 100 people in my open plan office, I have 0 work from home days and I feel lost.

The plus side, it is well paid for what it is, it is so close I can walk to work, then home on my lunch break. Plus my manager is lovely.

But, I come home exhausted most days, I finish work and have to lay on the sofa for a few hours to get some energy back and I am filled with dread going in.

I have 2 years left of my degree I am doing part time, so basically I am asking do I keep going here for 2 more years and are there any coping strategies or do I leave entirely.

I feel like life never really went back to normal after Covid.

I’m 32 now, and before Covid I was working as a waitress. The money wasn’t great, but I genuinely loved the job. I loved chatting to people, working in a team, having a laugh with the chefs, and meeting tourists. We had a lot of American tourists in the restaurant in Ireland and they were always so friendly and chatty.

Outside of work, life felt full. My family had parties and BBQs, people were always round, and my friends and I were doing something nearly every weekend, nights out, house parties, camping, random plans.

Then Covid happened.

We mostly stuck to the rules. No visitors, no meeting up, no normal social life. I ended up getting an office job working long shifts with people I didn’t particularly click with. The parties stopped. Some of my friends had kids. My parents got older and didn’t want people round as much. My friend group drifted.

I bought a house with my partner three years ago, and at the start we had people round a few times, but it often turned messy, things got broken, and it just wasn’t enjoyable. I’d love to have chilled movie nights or cosy nights in, but most people seem to only want to come round if drinking is involved.

I feel really stuck. The only time I seem to properly connect with people now is when I’m in bars drinking, but I don’t even enjoy that anymore. The hangovers aren’t worth it, and it doesn’t feel like me anymore.

I’m not really sure what the purpose of this post is. I think I just needed to vent.

I’m surrounded by people all the time, but I’ve never felt so lonely.

How do I fix this fringe?

Routine:wash, conditioner, leaving in conditioner, gel and diffuse.

Shampoo: John frieda frizz ease

Conditioner: John frieda drizzle ease

Leave-in conditioner: curl lov, moisture milk applied to wet hair

Styling product: Innersense gel, applied to wet hair

Drying method: diffused after applying product

Sleep: I usually sleep with my hair in a high bun/pineapple. Currently use a bonnet.

Issue: My fringe looks okay on wash day, but after sleeping with it up, the fringe separates and curls into this shape. I think I may have cut it too short and I’m not sure how to style or protect it overnight.

Ignore the rest of my hair, I just brushed it all.
