Finally got my crazy gumball machine working
Took about about two months of tinkering to get this back fully to its 90's glory. Converted it from Canadian quarters to loonies $1 coins. It's now in our theater with 1 in 6 a winner gumball.

Hi all--Stoked this subreddit exists.
I'm an attorney who runs my own firm from my home, and have OCD (good for work, weird for life) and ADHD (bad for work, but treatable with medicine). When spinners were at a popular peak about 8-10 years ago kids brought them home from time to time. I found myself using them regularly.
Eventually, I decided to buy an "expensive" spinner for myself, for about $30 on Amazon. It was a Duolingo circular spinner that easily hit 7-9 minutes out of the box. At that time, I was looking mainly for spinners that could go for as long as possible. I noticed that the Duolingo spinner also had the ability to function as a sort of haptic coin, and that's when everything changed for me. I realized haptics were far more enjoyable to me than spinning alone, and within a few months I had purchased my first premium haptic, lucking out on visiting Umburry (inventor of the haptic coin) right after a release and landing a couple of their armored spoke coins, which remain in daily use.
Two years later, and I've only accelerated in my collecting, and $30 is now a cheap spinner in my world, as I'm sure some of you can relate. Photos are my fidget stand, which is a cologne organizer from Amazon with drawers to hold bearings/parts/magnets. There are five fidgets I use every day:
I also collected tops for a period, with my favorites being the UFO Tops. I grabbed 6 of those, and they are gorgeous. The collector boxes they come in are also very cool.
I'll also say that Spinetics is an amazing company. They produce high quality metal spinners and sell them for very, very reasonable prices. I've purchased a ton of their stuff to use as gifts for kids/friends, and they are a small family shop who cares a lot about quality.
My wife and friends are nice about my quirks, but they don't truly care.
A few recent pickups. This should keep me chewing for a while.
The advertisements are reprints of vintage gumball machine display cards.
I think PBS should do reruns of Sesame Street and Mr Rogers no matter how old they get.
UFO Tops has relaunched their Milky Way Tops Kickstarter campaign.
It is active now through June 11, 2026. It has guaranteed funding this time. There are plenty of options to choose from including adding previously released Tops at a reduced price. You can also order extra Landing Pad Bases to display older Tops. In addition, the first 100 backers get a Free limited-edition Top. Consider taking a look and supporting them.
