Chibson Flying V
Added the “Chibson” sticker. Dropped in a Dimarzio Super Distortion and Super 2. Removed the tone and each pickup has its own volume so I can easily control the sound when switching between bridge and neck. This thing is super light and sounds/plays awesome.
Doing dumb stuff with a cheap copy
Decided to mess around with a Bad Cat/P4M Explorer. The more you zoom in the worse it gets. The EMGs are real, otherwise it’s stock.
Hip pain
Anyone found a good exercise to mitigate hip pain? I tend to get a nasty ache in my hip when sitting and also while I’m on the treadmill and of course sleeping. I do wall squats, calf presses and obviously treadmill exercises so my legs are decently strong but I’m not sure if I’m overlooking something that might focus on the hips more. I’ve tried the hip abduction machine but weirdly, I don’t have enough mobility to get any decent ROM.
Signature guitars/gear
How many of us have signature guitars and such from artists we don’t actually like/know?
I like certain aesthetics on guitars and unfortunately sometimes that means buying a signature model from someone I’m not a fan of or I’ve never heard of. In my head it feels a little weird but I like what I like. Wondering who else does this?
Shed is complete - Guitar room
Took some time to get it all complete and the parts I did look like an amateur did them but I’m still very happy with the end result.
If I sit, she sits on me.
She was making little air biscuits next to my leg.
Men, what dumb/harmful/dangerous stuff do you do, even when alone, because of stubbornness?
Thought about this today because I had to make 4 trips to Lowe’s to buy cement pavers and sand and my dumbass didn’t consider wearing gloves until the last load so my hands are all chewed up for no reason.
My sous chef sucks
I was making sauce and turned around and saw Ronin sitting in this pot. I don’t think he’s ever done this before. I hope.
LTD H-100
This probably won’t mean much to anyone else but this guitar was apparently stored for 25+ years and never played. I’m finally getting around to getting it cleaned up and setup to play. I’m pretty excited.
Advice - Create a basic guitar toolbox
This is probably obvious for people that have played for awhile but for the newer players, make a toolbox for your guitars. It can be literally a little box or bag but it’s a lot easier to change strings, adjust your bridge/nut/truss rod/etc if you have everything in one spot.
Also, everyone knows about string winders but I got an electric one a couple years ago and it makes changing your strings or loosening/tightening for an adjustment ridiculously easier, especially on headstocks where the tuners are kind of close together.
She is sleeping on the job.
There’s literally an empty bed there for her.
Non metal songs, do you use different tones?
For those of you that play songs that aren’t metal, are you one of those people that just uses the tone you love for everything or do you try and get a tone similar to the song you’re playing?
I’m sitting here playing some classic rock stuff and I like to use my normal thrash tone for everything so it sounds like “me”. Just curious what others do. This is meant to be a fun discussion, so hopefully it goes that direction.
I’m thinking about adding these to my amp heads so I can easily swap which head is plugged into which cab. I’m just wondering if this will affect the sound in any noticeable way.
I still need to figure out lighting and put up some more decorations. I may be selling some guitars I haven’t been able to really test/play.
