I see a lot of people talking about outer gods like they are a bunch a lovecraftian creatures that figtlht each other to conquer TLB. Not to be rude, but this doesn’t make sense to me. There is barely any mention of outer gods having their own consciousness, all they do is answer to sacrifices and prays. Meanwhile the GW actively influences TLB people and punishes their actions, it can also decide to completely not give a shit about its own vessel and fingers for seemingly no reason.

I don’t get how people came to the theory that now Outer Gods are the same thing. Everything we have leads them to be “outer” because they are “out” of Golden Order after the rune of death removal, because they are all related to the crucible features: generally, life through death, merging limbs, horns, tails, wings, sacrifices, “spawning” faces / eyes on their followers.

Marika wages war against all these people yes, and she wants to be considered the only true god. But that doesn’t really the outer gods rivals of the Greater Will. It’s more that the Greater itself answers through sacrifices simulating the crucible, like the Divine Gate. And Marika seems to want to hide the Hornsent realm exactly for this truth: all the outer gods are part of the same thing, the original order.

What I’m not sure about is the lore ever states if Greater Will can be considered an outer god or no.

Tarnished Edition is an MTX and if you simply state that in the ER you get downvoted at the speed of light.
