CASE STUDY: 4TH IMPACT. What went wrong?

An overview of Worldwide interest in Searches from 2010 to Present.

Look at the metrics. 4th impact made a bit of noise in 2015, then eventually went downhill after their stint at X Factor UK.
What went wrong?
Wrong management? Wrong timing? Wrong Music direction? Wrong Branding?

Thoughts on OPM gatekeepers and "purists" who despise artists for achieving commercial success?

We see them all the time on social media, and even here on Reddit. There is a vocal group of "OPM purists" who constantly brand artists signed to big labels as fake, inauthentic, sellouts, or "not real artists."

It seems like whenever an artist actually succeeds commercially, they are immediately dragged down and labeled as manufactured. Here are some common arguments they throw around:

When an artist has a dedicated composer (take Sarah G. and a lot of famous singers and performers for example), they are branded as fake and not authentic when singing an composition from others.

If an act doesn't play musical instruments on stage like pop groups or pure vocal soloists they are dismissed as not being "real" musicians. It means dapat may instrument ka at least one?

When an independent artist finally gets the recognition they deserve and signs with a major label, they are immediately accused of selling out. Mga binenta ang kaluluwa for Fame and money.

On top of the gatekeeping, a lot of these purists cross the line into outright bigotry. We see homophobic remarks thrown at openly gay artists like Gian of COJ, and blatant misogyny directed towards P-Pop girl groups.

Another thing I always see is when they say ppop is copycat of Kpop. However, they fail to aknowledge that there are also Rock bands, R&B Artist, or rappers who are copycats or inspired by some Western Artist or style as well.

Is it really bad to pursue and aspire Financial success in Music and just do it for the sake of gatekept Artistry? Even Mozart and Bach were paid during their time.

Is it really bad na hindi mo compose ang kinakanta mo? To Follow that logic, Does that mean Songwriters who don't have the voice are also less of an artist because they cannot interpret their composition?

JUST ASKING. (will wait for downvotes sa mga tatamaan)

BINI Jhoanna's speech after receiving the Recognition from the City of Los Angeles

"L.A. will always have a place in BINI's history and I hope this opens more doors to other Filipino artists—please help us to push Filipino music to the global stage." Jhoanna

She also asked that every Filipino work together to elevate Filipino music both inside and outside the country and serve as a path to open more doors for other Filipino artists to perform and showcase their talent to the world.

And this woman is only 21 or 22 years old?

ABSCBN Music growing roster of PPOP acts and Idol Groups

ABSCBN Music with their other sub labels like Star music, Star pop, Tarsier, DNA music etc. are constantly growing.
Some of them are either under their management STAR MAGIC while others have different management outside (cornerstone, aguila etc.) but their Record label is under ABSCBN music. A lot of them have pretty decent songs as well.
IDOL GROUPS:
BINI
Baby Dolls
BGYO
Azter
Wrive
DNA
1621
AJAA
Yes my Love
Oona (recently signed with record label)

SOLO ACTS: (maybe may iba pa wala sa listahan)
Maki
Maymay Entrata

Then there are STAR HUNT TRAINEES undergoing 2 years or more training under STAR HUNT ACADEMY (Same Training curriculum of BINI)
SHA Girls
SHA Boys
SHA Teens

It seem they are playing a long game and are banking on the growth of this niche segment of OPM.
I suggest they should create a mini music show to showcase them and grow their confidence aside from ASAP or Showtime. Then they could eventually open the doors to other acts outside of their stable. Para kapag dumating ang break nila or get invited to other shows or festivals, mas hasa at mataas na confidence level nila sa stage at hindi kumapa.

Seryosong tanong, Bakit madami padin ang umiidolo dito?

Sorry pero hindi ko talaga ma comprehend bakit ang dami padin sumasamba kay Digong? Like parang wala na ibang may karapatan mamuno gusto puro Duterte. They all support anyone aligned to him kahit na sobrang laki na ng sabit at kung anu anong krimen na ang nagawa nila.

Gigil ako sa kamaganak ko na DDS na 4ps

Grabe yung pang gaslight talaga.

This became a topic nadin maybe early 2000s about FIlipino as Pacific Islanders at hindi daw Asians. They prefer daw to identify themselves as islanders. It became a hot debate especially to US born pure blooded or Filipino Americans.

Also recently, nung nag Coachella ang BINI, there's also a case of reverse Colorism among them Pinoys sa US when some comments says they are NOT BROWN ENOUGH to represent Filipinos on that stage and not all of them are Morena and should tan their skin. Also some insisted that they should also be labeled as 1st all Pacific Islander Girl Group to perform at Coachella and not just 1st All Filipino.

A Parallel World OST music Video for Forgotten Island

Only found out it actually has an MV tonight.
No actual promotions or news? Haven't heard about it with ABSCBN or I just missed it.
I'm pretty excited about the Movie. It looks promising based from the trailers.
Various animated movies had representation from Mulan to Moana.
Now it's time for Filipino.

Can this song "A Parallel World (from Forgotten Island)" still classified as OPM?

It's for an international Film by Dreamworks.
But the performers, producers, and Composers are Filipino. And it has Tagalog lyrtics.

BTW, The song is amazing and very inspiring.
