Who is an idol that was written by a woman?

Who is an idol that was written by a woman?

Had a fun conversation with some girlfriends about male TV/movie characters that were clearly written by women due to respectful, kind, and emotional IQ in interactions with female characters. In real life, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Holland, and Michael B. Jordan were mentioned. So it got me wondering what idols would be written by a woman.

For me, Bang Chan from Stray Kids is a very obvious choice. He’s chivalrous, considerate of female idols, protective, and is big on manners. In addition, to being handsome and athletic, he’s my pick.

Who’s yours?

EDIT: a few comments being killjoys are wrecking the vibe. If you don’t like the post, no need to comment you don’t like the post. Write yourself a thesis and unclench yourselves. It’s for fun because kpop is rarely that serious.

BTS and the Betrayal of Megan Thee Stallion

As a Hottie (Meg’s fandom) and ex-Army, walk with me as I present background and the facts of the case of how BTS betrayed the friendship of Megan Thee Stallion.

  1. Tory Lanez shoots Megan Thee Stallion in the foot. (July 2020)
  2. BTS courted and pursed Megan Thee Stallion to be on the remix. Megan, as a self-proclaimed fan, was thrilled to accept.
  3. Butter remix was recorded, but blocked from release by Megan’s label because she went over their heads to accept (after her label initially turned Hybe down).
  4. Megan sued her label, won her lawsuits, got control of her masters, and one of the first things she did was the Butter remix release. (August 2021)
  5. Megan was scheduled to perform the remix with BTS at the AMAs on November 21, 2021 but pulled out last minute due to an “unexpected personal matter.”
  6. One week later, November 28, Megan does a surprise appearance during PTD in LA to perform the Butter remix live. RM says her “existence made the day perfect.” This is her talking about them after that appearance.
  7. In a live shortly thereafter, Jimin said Megan was soft, sweet, and had childlike innocence. He was grateful she was able to perform because he knew her foot was hurting. (Remember she was shot in the foot.)
  8. Around this time, Armys began heavily shipping Megan with RM. Primarily based on when Megan and BTS first met in person, there’s a painfully obvious moment of RM scoping Megan’s body.
  9. Megan begins to promo Neva Play feat. RM and it was released while he was in the military. (September 2024)
  10. In a Rolling Stone interview promo’ing Arirang, Jimin name drops both Chris Brown and Tory Lanez as inspiratons. (April 2026)
  11. Between points 1 and 10, Chris Brown repeatedly and publicly called Megan a liar about Tory shooting her. He and his fans relentlessy harassed her online and “protested” outside of her events. CB becomes an advocate and a face of the #FreeTory movement. During this time, Megan was heavily depressed and experiencing suicide ideation.
  12. Chris Brown funded Tory Lanez’s defense team while he was on trial for shooting Megan. He was found guilty and sentenced to 10 years in prison. The #FreeTory movement continued and is STILL ONGOING. (December 2022)
  13. RM and J-Hope fly to see Chris Brown and Usher in concert on their day off. They take pics, vids of them vibing, and say it was an honor to meet Chris Brown.
  14. BTS reaches the very pinnacle of fuckboyhood with ‘fuckboy' being defined as “such a man who manipulates or deceives women (as by pretending real affection or love) in order to gain favor.” (August 2026)
  15. Megan reportedly unfollows BTS on socials.

BTS used Megan Thee Stallion to further their thirsty pursuit of Western validation. Once it was achieved and further cemented, BTS forgot they publicly called Megan a dear friend. They were disloyal, immoral, and showed their true faces in the presence of a man who hugely contributed to the worst moments in Megan’s life. In the presence of a man who has a scroll of a rap sheet with multiple charges mostly due to violence against women. (As an aside, Chris Brown was recently found guilty of smashing a bottle over someone’s head in the UK and is currently awaiting sentencing). J-Hope and, even more disgustingly, RM disregarded their “dear friend” who was relentlessly harassed and almost cyberbullied to death in large part to that man.

There is no defending this betrayal. THERE IS NO WAY THEY DID NOT KNOW. They knew she was shot, by whom, and they were fully aware of the man Chris Brown is. They just didn’t care because, above all else, he is their idol.

In conclusion and as a Hottie, it’s FUCK BTS all day over here.

At this point, if they haven’t left the fandom after this…

…they are completely void of a functioning moral compass. They lack basic empathy and compassion. They lack respect and decency. They have deep internalized misogyny that won’t be recognized unless something happens to them. They have the strongest will of ignorance. They are willing participants. They are the level of hypocritical you didn’t know existed. They hate the truth. They are beyond dense. The concept of critical thinking is abstract. They support men who support men who consistently hurts women. They endorse violent criminals. The kind of criminal that catches a case every 5-7 business days.

They are anti-intellectual. Reason is a myth.

If you see army screaming crying throwing up speaking in tongues rolling around on the floor shitting themselves foaming at the mouth defending those men...

Don’t save ‘em. They don’t wanna be saved.

Yes, BTS paved the way…

…to accepting fuckery with no concern at all.

Notice how after VocaVola popped out as a Coke ambassador, promoting on his day off, and intentionally posting pics of himself enjoying McD’s and Starbucks that no one is talking or caring about Zionism in kpop anymore? (Don’t forget Jungkook is also the willing ambassador for a proud Zionist watch brand).

Notice how everyone was shitting on and accusing other groups of AI and now suddenly it’s not a problem when Gemini and BTS link up?

Notice how everyone was aghast at Jungkook being in the same room as Jay Park because Jay supposedly shaded BTS at one point and because of accusations of misogyny?

Notice how when idols were doing Chris Brown covers and listening to his music they were dragged to hell and back? (They bullied skz so bad, Chan apologized and went out of his way to clear anything CB related off their socials).

Now we have BTS paving the way for their fuckass fans to defend them for willingly being in the same frame as a serial abuser. Posting themselves fangirling to an abuser’s music. An abuser who was just found guilty in a court of law for fighting in the UK. The one who is actually banned from the UK due to his record of perpetual violence.

Interesting, isn’t it?

I guess now we give less of a fuck about women than we did before. What legends these guys are. Changing hearts and minds of morality wherever they go.

I need help with my little Swiftie-Kelce stan of a cousin

I know this might be oddly specific, but does there happen to be a supercut of scenes from the Eras movie where Taylor is onscreen talking to or about Travis?

My 10-year-old cousin is staying with me for a week to give her parents a break before school starts. They don’t allow her to watch anything Disney-affiliated if they can help it so she couldn’t watch the movie when it first came out. Cuzzo ended up watching the movie at a sleepover over a month ago and ever since most of the conversation veers into how Taylor talks about Travis.

She has sworn to me, up and down, that this supercut exists but I can’t find it anywhere. I thought it might be on TikTok or IG, but she said it was too long to be there. I do not know the extent to which he is talked about or featured, but she’s making it sound like Travis is in a significant part.

I don’t own a TV and I’m not finding anything on YouTube. My plans for entertainment are teaching her to play guitar—with a Taylor song ofc—hiking, and playing outside until she’s exhausted. She stayed with me last summer and didn’t want to leave so lack of TV isn’t an issue. I’d just really like to surprise her with this one thing when she gets dropped off at my place.

Does this very specific over 15 minute supercut even exist or is cuzzo in a prolonged fever dream?

Songs for antis

Does anyone know of any songs groups have made in reference/response to their antis? I’m coming up with “Iconic By Mistake” by KatseyexIllitxLSF, “Ddaeng,” by BTS, and “You Never Know” by Blackpink. What are others?

As an aside, do you think it’s a good idea to give antis attention in this way? I think it’s kind of a double-edged sword. It’s good to address antis because they’re going to listen to the music no matter and it’s a shot back. The other side is that the antis know they’re getting to the artists and will keep going. Thoughts?

Question from a casual

Hi Stays,

Has Stray Kids ever made a concerted effort to chart Billboard100? Istg every time I turn around there’s a new mid song in English purposely made to try to hit #1. However, Stray Kids from my limited knowledge, is the biggest 4th gen boy group without having released many English singles. The only one I personally know of is Lose My Breath (imo should’ve been released without Charlie Puth).

I personally feel if Skz can be so huge in sales and tours without English heavy songs, there’s no excuse for the other groups. So I’m curious what is Stray Kids doing that others aren’t? Why are they running 4th gen with no major English singles (that I know of as a casual listener) while others pump them out or make entire albums in English?

Everything I’ve heard about Engenes is bad

I do not follow Enhypen. I have a song on a playlist, but I don’t know their names and wouldn’t recognize any of them on the street or in a pic if I saw them.

The things I know/have seen about Enhypen:

  1. Fandom meltdown over the guys having choreo involving women
  2. Heeseung/Evan rage
  3. Utterly losing the plot over flowers
  4. Now there’s blaming one of the members for this unnecessary tragedy

I was a part of a very large fandom I no longer participate in because they are generally awful. However, I am fairly confident that particular fan base has never done what Engenes have done over the course of however long the group has been together. Maybe I’m too new to this (3rd gen girlie), but this is an unlocked special of madness.

Is there anything positive about Engenes? If so, what is it because literally everything I’ve seen has been really bad?

EDIT: I understand some Engenes may be defensive and say all fandoms are bad. Kpop fandoms can be nasty, but I’ve never seen something that triggered a death.

The tea about the Grammys I don’t see mentioned…

HYBE purposely molded Arirang to be in English to be competitive for the Grammys. However, that has clearly backfired. The Grammys made up a dumbass category with the CAVEAT that all music submitted be in an Asian language.

Arirang is…in English. Produced and written by native English speakers.

IMO, there was no way in hell Arirang would’ve been nominated for any usual award regardless. It is objectively a wack album with nonsensical lyrics. They don’t have the fun pop of Dynamite and Butter. That was their in. A sad in with songs of no lyrical value whatsoever, but I digress.

I didn’t watch their Netflix doc, but apparently they fought for their love letter to Korean culture to be in the language and HYBE insisted on English.

So in conclusion: HYBE knocked BTS out of contention from the start because they assumed, no matter what they did, they’d be nominated and be in competition with artists who actually deserve recognition on true artistry.

Now let’s see what Chinese or Japanese artist paves the way to a win because if another kpop group gets it, Army will make sure there will be blood in the streets.

I need answers about Mina

I’ve been watching a lot of youtube content recently and am utterly fascinated by how the Twice members seem to revere Mina and put her on a pedestal. For example, Jihyo told Sana she’d be hurt if, out of all members, Mina said they couldn’t be friends. Nayeon saying she teases the other members, but she doesn’t with Mina. She also mentioned how she wants to take care of Mina. Jeongyeon’s date with Mina was pretty much a fan meeting on Jeongyeon's part. And this isn’t even to mention Chaeyoung. They’ve all said when Mina talks, they listen (especially Jihyo). She has such an influence on the group that is so quiet, but also very loud.

I lowkey love how differently the members treat Mina. I’m a Strategy Once so I don’t know all the lore, but is that coming from somewhere specfic?

Idols age-shaming each other

The age-shaming amongst fans is horrible, but age-shaming amongst idols is on par–if not worse.

When I was a kid, I couldn’t wait to be 16. Then it was 18. 21. 25. Now I’m 30, the same age as the idols I grew up with, and they’re *still* age-shaming each other over a decade later. Yes, I’m aware people tease each other. Yes, I know South Korea has a heavy thing with youth. However, in a culture that prides itself on manners, etiquette, and where age is supposedly so revered and respected, I find it tactless.

A particular group I’m thinking of has a statistically older fan base than others in their generation. A significant chunk is over the age of 40. They have 80-year-olds dedicating fanpages and tiktok homages to them. So if an idol is 27 busting the ass of a 32-year-old hyung, it’s both childish AND boring.

If kpop is supposed to be oh so inclusive (lulz) idols should be more mindful as those older fans have something their younger fans do not: disposable income.

260721 IG like (stan a moral queen)

Manon liked a post from the New York City mayor calling Bendemort a war criminal. HYBE would NEVER allow this from someone under their label, especially a take like this for reasons.

Manon is BIG gone.

Drink water and stan a moral queen for clear skin and wealth!

Mobile Dog Grooming?

Any suggestions on mobile dog grooming service. I can’t tell how many reviews I’m finding on Google and Yelp are real and some are quite old. I have a 15-year-old dog that can’t tolerate being in a crate the way regular groomers do before and after the wash and cut. If anyone has had personal experience and can personally recommend a business, it’d be appreciated.

Who is Sophie? (this is related to Manon)

I have consistently read comments, seen pics, and heard bits and pieces that Sophie has been a true ride or die/take off the earrings to fight type of friend for Manon. Did she come from Dream Academy? How long have they been friends?

Admittedly parasocial of me but I just want confidence Manon has the right people who want the best for her around. I’m not naming names, but other girlies got caught up with who they thought were friends, got BURNED, and am scared that might happen to Manon.

If you had Twice’s future in your hands, what would you do?

Topic is the question.

For me, the VERY first thing I would do is give them 4-6 months off. This would be time for the members to catch up on sleep, heal their bodies, focus on their health and well-being, and do things they want to do like sight-seeing, taking a class, or doing absolutely nothing at all. Just time with nothing to do but be self-centered for a bit.

After the time off, I’d work on wrapping up 2wice Dates and bring back a longer version of something like the Soulmate series where they just have to improv a whole premise for entire episodes.

I would put Nayeon, Sana, and Jeongyeon back on their individual shows, but I’d totally change Sana’s show concept (I already have a great idea) and probably tweak Jeongyeon’s a bit. I’d also add a prank show for Dahyun and maybe a workout-focused show with Momo and Jihyo.

After vacation time and doing YT shows, I’d focus on making a full-length Korean language album with maybe ONE song in English to push on Western charts and radioplay, if the group wants. Then, I’d be sure the company promo’d the hell out of them in Korea. A huge PR push to remind the population why they’re the Nation’s Girl Group and kill the noise of Twice not being popular in Korea anymore. I’d want to see their promos be inescapable because I think JYP could do better in advertising the group in that regard.

After the album release, I’d do another tour, but not nearly as long and grinding as this one seemed to be. Nine months MAXIMUM and only the major markets for 3 nights each. Imo, they didn’t need to be in North America for 4 months. For example, Vancouver and Seattle are less than 3 hours apart. This stop could’ve been either city for 3 nights instead of 2 nights in 2 cities.

Finally, this is hella random and will likely never happen, but I lowkey want Jihyo to release a Spanish-language song.

What would you do if Twice’s world was yours?

Confused about Lexie

I didn’t watch Dream Academy, but read Lexie left the show because she wanted to work behind the scenes as a producer instead. I’m wondering if anyone knows or if it’s been said why she changed her mind to get onstage with Saint Satine.

Today is the last day to for AMAs

Haven’t seen seeing nearly enough about this on main, but please go vote for Twice on the AMAs site for Best Female K-Pop artist TODAY. It’s the last day to vote, they’ve been posting about it, and we know they really want and deserve it. Let’s rally for the last day!

It should go without saying–and dare I say we can all agree–no matter where you stand on current events, that HxG has shit the bed in regard to managing the group. So if you could clock in tomorrow as Katseye’s primary management, what are the first things you would do?

For me…

  1. To be expected, the very first thing I would do is address and be transparent about what’s going on with Manon. I would put out a written press release AND THEN I would have her go on a solo live and tell us herself what’s been going on. I am a very firm believer she was put on forced hiatus and between that week and Coachella, something very significant changed. I would give fans answers immediately.

  2. I would do whatever needed to be done to get her back with the group. I do not believe what’s happened is because of drama and discord with the other members. I might be a naive dummy because I’ve been watching a crap ton of content lately, but it’s hard for me to believe their relationships with each other have all been a total act. I think whatever happened is something solely between Manon and the company.

  3. I would put them ALL TOGETHER on a live to talk about what’s happened and discuss how it’s personally affected them to knock out the speculation.

  4. I would turn off comments on all their socials for two or three months and, in a very obnoxious kpop controlling way, take their devices away except to talk to family. This would be a reasonable amount of time for all the dust to clear and limit distractions to focus on themselves as a group. Also, in that time hopefully the fandom can unclench, calm down, and chill the hell out.

  5. Replace all current songwriters, producers, and choreographers with people who are capable of putting together a strong body of work that can be taken seriously and built to last instead of the hits of crack cocaine tweaking we’re getting now.

  6. I’d lock them into a month-long songwriting camp. In these camps, writers get inspiration from each other and the artists. Get some ideas, write a crap ton, narrow it down 12 songs that can show off their vocals, and get them in the studio to make a FULL-LENGTH ALBUM.

  7. I’d wind them back to near where they started with the y2k-2010s pop sound and incorporate R&B, as well. Walk with me here and imagine Aaliyah, TLC, and Destiny’s Child’s type bops and choreo. That would absolutely bang and they would kill that.

  8. No more festivals and get them on a yearlong world tour. North America, South America, Europe, Ghana, the Philippines, South Korea, India, Australia, China, and maybe Japan.

  9. Change the wardrobe. I’m not trying to be an Amish puritan, but I’m so damn tired of the butt cheeks. Just my personal preference.

  10. I would limit their brand deals to two max. I’d go for an ad series campaign with Gap or maybe Calvin Klein.

What would you guys do as Katseye management?

Is anyone besides me religiously voting for TWICE to get the AMAs every day? I am aware my parasocialism is up, but I think the win would make them super happy and they deserve it more than the other groups nominated (imo). They’re also counting hashtags on the second pinned post on the AMAs IG page (I’m voting for #femalekpoptwice.

Let’s do it for them, ONCEs!
